Thanks for clearing up the mystery! While traveling on the Tuticorin-Mysuru Express, I was initially confused as to why my train wasn't getting the signal clearance while the MEMU train overtook us. It was a rare moment for me, and I had never seen such a situation before. I appreciate your help in understanding this. Congrats for 15 years on YT.

In many places in the world the solution is to construct split platforms or separate platform which are multilevel. That way in the same foot print (i.e land area) many more trains can be accommodated. I see very little innovation in India. Vande Bharat is due to the sole efforts of one person, Mr. Sudhanshu Mani, who as the GM of ICF took enormous career risks (even his pension was at risk) to build Train 18 which has become the current hit called Vande Bharat. Bangalore being he "high tech city" should go for multilevel platform so they can potentially double the number of trains that can be parked. Or use a passenger dispatch system where each train stays for 30 mins and passengers go to the appropriate platform to board.

Nice information... generally I observed evening trains from mysuru towards the Hubli do not get delayed due to its outbound journey. The trains in the other direction ie from bengaluru cantt-ksr Bengaluru - mysuru face delays since most of the trains enter ksr in the morning hours from 6am to 9:30 am.

I still don't understand a few trains in bengaluru. 22626 SBC-MAS DD is very small in length (just 7 DD coaches and 5 Second class). Why can't they utilise all 12 coaches of Double deckers which are left unused in the BBQ parking bay? Add to this another 10 second class sitting would greatly alleviate the afternnon rush in SBC and morning overcrowding in 12639 MAS SBC Brindavan express. And in case if you say "The loco WAP7 won't be able to pull"...then they should precisely use WAGs for this operation as DDs cannot go beyond 100kmph and also require more torque to be pulled from stationary. Similarly the Uday exp also would get benefitted due to rake sharing. I had also submitted a proposal to heighten the overhead electric lines to facilitate higher capacities by building more Double decker coaches with higher headroom and space. Nowadays trains on the north india section (goods and passenger) are capable of touching 120kmph on the higher overhead lines. An existing train can be optimized to occupy nearly double capacity while also not adding additional trains on the saturated lines. Platform 7 still has lower platform height so I guess this would be taken up in platform extension(hopefully). Why can't railways consider building flat coach entrances like those of local trains and Metro trains'? Hauling luggage into the coach and lifting it through such narrow steps/doors makes passenger boarding and deboarding very inefficient, slow and tough for all. And yes. To do this platform heights MUST be standardized. They must make every station in India to the same height for all trains. Considering the volume of traffic, this is a much much needed upgrade to ensure trains don't wait for too long for passengers to board/deboard. I do hope they work on reducing the sharp curves b/w SBC and BNC(cantonment). The trains can be made to journey between the 2 stations in just 5 min instead of 10/15 min. And still the railways have not facilitated seamless connectivity b/w SBC,YPR,BNC to SMVT. Why spend so much on one station when it can be used to solve a host of other existing ones? I'm not sure how well this point will be recieved and am up for discussion. I feel railways should abolish 2S reserved class and make all such coaches as "unreserved". This would greatly solve the heavy rush of unreserved pax entering into unauthorized compartments and the railways can earn more by accomodating 250 pax per coach instead of the usual 108 pax. And anyway most of the unreserved pax enter unauthorized into reserved 2S coaches anyway.

If trains coming from Contonment, are allowed straight to platform 1 or 2 or 3 and then to Mysuru side then this problem would be solved, but no such provision at SBC yard. That provision has to be made. As of now Platform 1 & 2 trains are just to be terminated ( like Brundhavan express)

This has been an age problem with the Tuticorin Mysuru Express. But I can confirm this only started after the introduction of the Kacheguda Mysore SF Expres. This train is always and as a result, the format also gets delayed or has to wait on the outer. Meanwhile, passengers at Bangalore station are playing musical culture to find out which among so many trains to Mysore during the morning hours would reach Mysore earliest and which ticket they have to buy... it's always a gamble. It's so happens. The former train is subjected to overtake even on the way in between Mysore and Bangalore if the latter is running late

bro i have to notify you about this, i live in between shivamogga-talguppa line and my house is only 1-2 km away from the track, and since this line is not completely electrified, i hear emd horns and humming sounds everyday, but today i heard electric horns at 7:00 AM, I first thought it was the 20652 intercity which passes at this time but then i heard the emd sound, confirming it was not the intercity, and the horns were pretty frequent, so if im right, electric trails are going on in this line, so brother, 20652 intercity express's diesel era is coming to and end very soon..

The major criticism i have with KSR bengaluru station OR bengaluru city station(SBC) At the platform design doesnt make sense. 1-7 is your chennai section, 8-10 is your hubbali section but their is no intersection where hubbali side and chennai side can run smoothly via the loco reversial. It is tied to a length. I mean they can make a track going from the hubbali side route to chennai route. And it would be easy for them for the loco reversial as their is an empty space between both the route and the road undernath it. And the second criticism i have is that platform 2,3,4 are extremely useless due to the terminality of the station. They are now made a glorified railway yard, using the first solution they dont have create new platform or wait for 8,9,10 to be free they can launch trains from 2,3,4 towards hubbali side with that track between the two routes.

The problem is only with Gulbarga side via Guntakal trains suffer. Gulbarga trains are totally neglected by Tamil dominant Bengaluru railway station.

Even Ernakulam bengaluru gets late to enter bengaluru cant then what will you say for this the scheduled time to enter that train is 7:50pm even if the train gets late to enter baiyapanahalli it want to reach at 8:30pm but they keep red signal in-between baiyapanahalli and bengaluru cant and gives signal at 9pm only

In other countries, they don’t load/unload parcels/packages on the platform. That should be done before the train comes to the platform or after it leaves the platform. Preferably on the stabling lines. In Japan, New York, etc., trains arrive and depart every two minutes.

1. Platform 5 and 6 are island platforms, how do both have different lengths 2. Why is it not possible to make platform 6 a bit more bigger, so as to accommodate longer trains 3. To optimise the operations why can't railways shift these pit lines between platform 1 and 2/3/4 ? 4. To make more optimization, why can't the other side of platform of 4 can't be converted into a usable one. Is there no space to make way for 1 new railway track, as the platform 4 width is too huge 5. What about Binny mills land 6. Shifting pit lines between 4 and 5 to 1 and 2/3/4 will make way for more platforms towards Mysuru side from cantt section, why is this remodeling not happening 9:04 @natarajan sir, plz reply or make video on these issues

Well platform 1,2,3 and 4 are terminal platforms that were created in the 19th century way before the Mysore lines connected Bengaluru. So railways have developed it like a yard to store old trains, with the yard layout installed. Only platform 1 and sometimes 2 is used for departing trains outside of Karnataka towards Chennai or hyderbad via bangalore cantt,(rajdhani express were a prime example but now they are departed from platform 10 towards yesvantpura). So to reconstruct the first four platforms, they have to remove the yard installation which would create a shortage of space to store trains and it would also make the station dangerously for trains and passengers due the cements and roids falling out. That it's really a hectic process that takes months, which will be a problem for Mysore-chennai line

Congratulations! Looks like 15 long years, but it isn't, as more years are to add up to it. Just to keep a point, as of Aug-Sept 2024 Wodeyar SF, Hampi M.Ex, Golgumbaz M.Ex, were to be parked at Ashokarajpuram, taking up 2 far lanes near the new entrance, similar to how Belagavi SF, and Rani Channamma M.Ex parked at Hejjala and Kengeri respectively, with 2 more platforms, up and down at Ashokrajpuram, I guess the down platform to Chamarajapuram will also be used for parking temporarily.

Please do a video on kadakola railway station development. I searched for articles & didn't find any. In fact while I was on my way to inspect a work site on the byathahalli-kadakola road that runs parallel to kadakola station I saw new survey stones laid across the road which I believe is by SWR. Am not sure if it's for new lines in kadakola station.

The MEMU is sent via the loop line because it has a scheduled stop at Bayyappanahalli (BYPL). As it is a commuter train and people will have to get down/enter.

A 24 coaches icf train is still longer than a 22lhb train. So most of the platforms should be capable of handling a 24 coach icf train so it's nt a prob for lhb

Yeah but the idea of it being near the railway colony is something the people living in the colony would find it hard, as the noise of autos and peoples would make it really tough. That place apart from the noise of the loco horn is actually quiet and peaceful, you can hear the bird chirping. But it will also help the passenger to access the metro station on foot rather than climb long stairs to the bridge. But I still think that either create the platform adjacent to platform 10 rather than near the colony or create a line that connects the hubbali route to Chennai route outside of the station, which would make it easy for the hubbali trains that might go towards Chennai. Or make use of the useless platform 2,3,4

Just bcz the content is based on the things related to Karnataka,doesn't mean everything should be in kannada language only. The rail fans n the audience for this youtube channel will be from all over the India who wants to understand the platform issues at KSR Bengaluru. More over English is commonly understood by almost everyone. Its nothing like, he is insulting to kannada language or the local culture. He has revealed his identity in the name as Natarajan which directly represents as his identity as a Tamilian. His mother tongue may be tamil but doesn't mean he has no kannada language knowledge . He is having so many childhood memories ,sentiments with Bengaluru City. He wanted to make his audience understanding with simple terms of railway. If you really wanted to do something good for the welfare of kannada language, please send your kids to kannada medium schools. First, you 🫵🫵teach kannada to your next generation.
