I didn’t know there was such a nib size. 😊 I think it would be good for people who like to draw, too, and need a fine line. Thanks for sharing!

I was totally surprised as well. Yes, I do plan to use for sketching and fine writing. I am currently setting up a new sketch book art bag with ideas.

Thanks for sharing this. I was surprised to find out that there are gold nibs that are finer than . I love to write tiny and this maybe the perfect pen.

Yes, it is enjoyable and perfect for my small grid Hobonichi planner/journal Tomoe River paper. If you like UEF nibs, check out the Esterbrook Estie custom friend nibs on the Esterbrook.com website. They have a needlepoint nib. I just ordered an Estie pen but bought the Journaler nib. I’ll share it when I receive it. Thanks for watching.

think people are worried by the prospect there might be something finer than a Japanese EF: have got Platinum 3776 EF & UEF, also have Pilot custom heritage 912 EF and Sailor pro gear EF - the truth is there’s a limit to how fine you’re ever going to get a nib to write: all these pens put down a similar line width, the Platinum 3776 EF puts down a slightly broader line:)

Thanks for doing this review I’m looking for an extra fine nib to use in my Jibun Techo and I might just go for this one
@MarcellHobbs2 ай бұрын
You are quite welcome! Yes, I agree it would be an excellent choice. I enjoy finer nibs in the Hobonichi grid paper.

@ do you think the ultra fine is too fine or do you think I should just go for it?
@MarcellHobbs2 ай бұрын
@manifunk1 It really depends on your preference. I don’t enjoy Sailor F nibs for writing, but they are perfect for small areas in calendars and planners. The UEF does serve a purpose. I was planning to use it to write scripture small enough to fit in a journal that I gave. The Platinum nibs are smoother than Sailor nibs. I think you will enjoy it.

Looking forward to your review of the ultra extra fine nib, this is one I am tempted to get but am flip flopping. Hopefully you will help me make up my mind in your more detailed review.

I’m actually loving that pen/nib and use it daily. I’ll try to get my review together for tomorrow.

I have the 3776 blue EF The 3776 red SF 3776 Nice Lavande UEF And a lot of Preppy, Plaisir, Procyon in various nib sizes. All is Platinum. And yes, I'm a pen collector. Keep up the good work! Liselotte in Sweden

As a teacher, I do enjoy the use of the Preppy at school as not to worry. I do not have a Plaisir or Procyon. I tried the Nice, but did not like the feel of the corrugated body. I’m so glad you understand as a pen collector. Enjoy! So nice to hear from Sweden!

@@MarcellHobbs Sorry, I just wanted to talk about my Platinum’s. I also have Lamy, Parker, Fisher, Sailor.. etc. However, nice to see more women interested in pens! Pax et Bonum!

@liselottefrejdig1112 While I have well over 100 fountain pens, I do not have any Parker or Fisher fountain pens. I do have Parker ballpoint. I do hope we get to communicate more about fountain pens.

Does reverse writing works? If so, can you make a video
@MarcellHobbs Жыл бұрын
Excellent question. I always forget to try and share reverse writing with my new pens. Upon request I just tried it and it does work with feedback. I will ink my other LMZ Aloha which has a Fkex nib and make a video showing the performance of both. Thank you for watching.

I ordered a soft fine, and it arrived sealed with a label that said SF. I inked it up and, WOW, did it write fine! I knew Japanese pens were known for fine lines, but this was crazy! A couple of days later, I got out my lupe and checked the nib. Sure enough, although it was marked SF on the box, the nib said UEF. I have fallen in love with it. Great for small notebooks and tiny writing. Enjoy!

Wow! I’m glad that worked out for you. I enjoy my SF and UEF nibs. The UEF is not widely available. I love the needlepoint line it delivers when I need to write small. I’m thinking of dedicating that pen to my scripture writing journal. Enjoy! 🖋️❤️

I was hoping for a review of the Platinum 3776 UEF. Eleven minutes into a 13 minute plus review and you finally put pen and ink to paper. I felt some what frustrated and confused as to why you would compare it to a Pilot Broad nib.
@MarcellHobbs Жыл бұрын
I am so sorry you were frustrated in anticipation of a full review. I was actually sharing a first experience with a new to me nib size, the UEF. I showed the Pilot B nib, the only one I had at the time, for comparison of a range from UEF to B line width. I do appreciate you for taking the time to let me know how the video affected you. I will be more mindful in the future. Thanks for watching!

I only use Platinum ultra extra fine or Sailor extra fine, but I'm a sophisticated and highly educated individual unlike most of the fountain pen users who happen to be not so educated.
