Dude. This song. This SONG. Like, I don't know, it just hits something that demands you listen to it no matter what. Like Bohemian Rhapsody or In the Air Tonight or Proud Mary (Tina!) or Respect, turning it off is like an insult to it. Also, he said he wrote that song about a friend's (?) daughter who was young and was always very bright and happy, but not in a romantic sense. It was like "damn, she's gone and the house isn't as nice and we hope she comes back". But, honestly, I like your interpretation better. Also, language is mutable. This song is misunderstood. By saying ‘ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone’, Bill is using a double negative. Basically saying ‘there is not no sunshine when she’s gone’. Therefore he’s saying when she’s gone, there is sunshine. Get lost woman! 😃
