I have also been through this. After so many years I still love him. He did love me but I ruined it and he was done. One of the biggest regrets of my life. I married someone else who I never loved as much, not fair to him. I am good friends with my darling ex husband now, but he doesn’t know even after all of these years how I still feel about the other person. And even after over 20 years after we divorced, that other person’s name can still not be mentioned to him, I did so much damage to them both. Selfish, and confused, running back and forth between the two. So much regret for hurting two wonderful men. I am ashamed of myself!

The videos for Bat out of Hell were pretty much before the age of videos, so they were promotional covers of the album tracks with Karla Devito, who was going on tour, rather than Ellen Foley, whose voice you hear on the tracks. They did them is this "mock-concert" style. For all his songs after this 1978 release, there were what we now consider more standard videos.

Enjoyed your reaction. Steinman’s songwriting is unparalleled, and no one delivers like ML. That voice! And man he brings the drama…. Try Hot Summer Night or, for a shirt change (ie not from Bat Out of Hell album) plus 20 years try I Would Do Anything for Love. So much to love from these two! My fav is the Bat Out of Hell title song. Those final notes…wow. Just wow.

Meatloaf has other video's out there....... It just so happens that his most popular videos/songs are from the "Bat Out of Hell" album, which were all fimed basiclly as a "Staged" concert for filming....... Meatloaf was recorded singing the trhe National Anthem at the 1994 MLB ASG (Major League Baseball, All Star Game)... I personally I consider it as AWESOME as the Chris Stapleton at 2023 Super Bowl, and the Whitney Houston at 1991 Super Bowl... All 3 do it in they own style and equally powerful in Honoring the Spirit of the Anthem.....

This concert was his first album release. It was filmed in the late 1970s, music videos really hadn't become an art form yet. So almost all the songs from Bat Out Of Hell are from this concert. Bat Out Of Hell is one of the best albums, and still is one of the top selling albums, of all time. The Bat Out Of Hell II:Back Into Hell was released in the early 1990s, and has a lot of really good songs from it. Most of those videos (The most well known being "I Would Do Anything For Love, But I Won't Do That") are produced with a high level of skill. You should check out the title track, Bat Out Of Hell. Meatloaf has a tremendous vocal range, and he shows it in that song.

Meat often wore a suit and a shirt with ruffles on stage. He also used to hold a small scarf in his hand with colours depending on the type of the song he was singing (black, red, white). In this case you can see a black scarf (= sad song). It became some kind of trademark for him. In his concerts he had several scarfs hanging from the microphone stand.

Most of the common tunes are coming off the Bat Out of Hell" album Krizz, not that Meatloaf is common by any stretch! I believe there were three albums, and Meat was the lead singer and entertainer & Ellen Foley was the singer on that album. She was the chick that sang on "Paradise on the Dashboard" video. Read her reasons for not wanting to tour on the road and that explains the other females you may see singing with Meatloaf. The guy playing the piano was the writer of the music and lyrics, he's a master as you know. Enjoy this fine work about teenage love!

Never judge a book by its cover or a song until you heard it till the end, my man. And I get the impression even at the end you hadn't NOT understood it. He sings about not being able to give his love to the first girl, cause, as we hear toward the end, there was another a long time ago who broke his heart saying she wanted, needed, but did not love him. And so he got hurt and from then on was unable to love any other woman after that and just repeated the two out of three credo. Brilliant writing, if you ask me, by the incomparable Jim Steinman.
@mary.sagi58Ай бұрын
Meatloaf brings hard emotions into a beautiful song... it's written from the pov of man telling his girl that she should be happy with two out of three, which sounds cold; but, by the end of the song, it's clear that he has had his heart broken when a girl said the same thing to him, years ago...

He always wore that style outfit in his concerts, but these are not filmed at any of them. This was the way they chose to film these songs for publicity. It seems like 2 different women is because she (and he) have changed so much that they are different people now.
