Nice review. Reminds of the Kaweco Perkeo, and the Pilot Kakuno. Although these are entry level, I absolutely love how they write.

Mick, it’s possible you just got a pen with a bad nib: mine is an EF which writes well both face down and on reverse - mine came with Platinum’s entry level convertor which works well too; used Monteverde sapphire ink which is makes a great combo:)

Ditto the Kaweco Perkeo I’m stunned as to why Platinum didn’t make more effort to give this pen a more distinctive appearance. You should have used a Perkeo in the comparison test.

Is it drier than the preppy? I bought one to use the carbon ink cartridges for waterproof sketching
