As someone who has literally spent over six hours in a day watching your videos, I personally appreciate the repetition. I've just recently gotten into salvaging as a hobby and learning how to reclaim precious metals will expand my hobby. Keep doing what you're doing. You have by far the best refining/recovery video's on youtube.

I don't know how you get your scrap gear but I got to the junk yard (state recycle center, that people drop off all their junk) late at night and grab what I like. I think that i maybe a crime, but not sure. Yet, I was told that the state pays to have all that stuff recycled and only make money of the scrap steel and the lead from batteries, so I figure I'm doing the tax payers of my state a favor, as whatever I take they don't have to pay for it removal. I'm actually a teacher and before the state gave laptops to the students, I actually had my students "earn points" towards the electronic I got from the junk yard. I would dismantle the laptop (or towers) and put together the best parts, and then delete, format and install the OS and programs they could use, and the kid could spend the points to get the gear I had made ready. I also, did it with printers, and other stuff. I taught in one of the poorest counties in my state. (sadly I got in a little trouble from the other teachers, but I kept doing it anyway) One day, one of my student came to see me years after she passed my class, and said she was going to college and that she used the computer that I gave her to get in, and that she still had it, and was taking to college (even though it was super old by then). It gave me a warm fuzzy

Even a "failure" is a success. Now I know that those shiny circles I have in all those dead hard drives may not have the precious metal value but can still be used for crafts (such as clock faces, mobiles, etc). Just a little “blender tip” when you have a lot of the slurry at the bottom and then add more discs, try starting the blender slowly and then increase speed a bit at a time and also try pulsing it to more the sludge around. When you start the blender on high speed it actually pushes the sludge out of the way of the blades. I really enjoy watching your videos, thank you for filming these for us to enjoy!!👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼😊

Long videos are just fine! While cutting 3 or 4 instances out of a group of 6 or 7 identical operations is a great idea, showing a few of those identical operations is still valuable because it demonstrates and documents proper technique for those operations. Also, even though this experiment didn't yield any product, I appreciate the video just as much as ones that do yield product because it demonstrates that sometimes you don't get anything even when there is something there and there is value to know when to abandon an attempt. Keep up the good work!

Amazing with the work you conduct to refine precious metal, even at the request of your followers. I specifically enjoy your routine with regard to stepping out the process, if it were to take the time of an hour, or two, maybe four or even twenty, your speciftic fundamental process is the correct way to move through the motion of refining. I personally have wondered how metals have been refined to the grades of very fine materials with absolute wonder. Sreetips, I am enjoying your videos. I am a research chemist and chemical engineer retired, and I have done experiments like the ones you are performing many time. If you would stir the large beakers using a magnetic stirrer when you add the acids you would be able to control the aggressive reactions much better. You would need a good stir plate to get through the corning ware bowl and beaker but they do exist I used one in my analytical/research lab for years. I do enjoy your videos and I plan to continue watching.

The HDD platter are make with silicon media, glue, iron particle and fine coating of platinum that protect the iron glue on the silicon. You better need to melt the silicon in quantity and gather in the bottom of the crucible the platinum.

18k gold will have some silver in it. I think the book says that gold 21k or above can be dissolved in aqua regia just like it is. I may be wrong. Getting the silver out is the problem. Inquarting and parting with hot dilute nitric can get nearly 100% of the silver out of the gold. After all the silver is gone, the gold is a dream to dissolve and refine.

Again scrapping as a side to my electronics repair , have gone through 100s or 1,000s of these . Good confirmation there is little value . What I have done , is hit them with a hammer - glass breaks , the ones that bend go into aluminum recycling , so I do get some money for them .

I am always amazed how much effort sreetips is willing to expend in his videos about recovering precious metals where the value of the tiny amount of metal recovered is a fraction of the cost for the associated chemicals necessary to attempt the recovery process. Shame on the viewers who complain to him about the length of time this slow process takes!! I guarantee his time is worth far more than the complainers time will ever be worth!

" If " Any silver dissolves due the the nitric in the AR, it will come out immediately as silver chloride, it will not stay in solution. Hydrochloric acid is often used to test for silver in nitrate solutions. You take a small sample and put a drop of hydrocloric acid in, if silver is present a white milky substance will form, it's silver chloride. If there is a high concentration of silver it will clump up like cottage cheese.
