Met him at a Cleveland Cavs vs Sacramento Kings game in 2000-2001 when I was 12, my uncle Lawrence Funderburke played for the Kings and we were at the game. Steelers were in town to play the Browns that Sunday. So I see Plaxico with the braids sitting 2 rows below me to the right and I nudge my sister like "that's Plaxico right there" she's like "boy no it ain't your trippin" I say "ok watch". So I get up with my booklet that has the rosters in it and walk over to him and tap his shoulder and say "Plaxico?" He turns around "Wassup lil homie". I said "I knew it was you, can I get your autograph, I'm a huge Steelers fan" and he said no problem and signed my booklet. Went back to my seat and looked at my sister like "I TOLD YOU". Had that autograph pinned to my wall for YEARS! Huge Steelers fan, Bettis & Kordell Stewart were my favorite players when I started liking Pittsburgh, so meeting Plaxico was a huge deal for me. Very nice guy.

Ok, Uncle Sam takes half which leaves u with 3.5, then your agent takes 10-15%. You're at 3 million, then you buy your mom a house and car. Let's say, 2.5 million and you buy a expensive coat and a chain. Remember, u have no real concept of money. Believe it or not, that's not much! You gotta pay rent or morgage, car note for yourself. There's no shoe deal in football.
@Tony24kSPK5 жыл бұрын
Shawn Pringle uncle same doesn’t take half, all taxes are the same no matter how much you make , they take 10-15%, his mom even in a decent home in bay beach maybe 300k at the max, I live here. A brand new base model Benz starting at 45k(Of he even got her a Benz) He still left with about 3 million. Where y’all get these numbers from?

@@Tony24kSPK Ok, is that why when people win the lottery, half is taken by Uncle Sam? U hear the same story over and over, Half.
@Tony24kSPK5 жыл бұрын
Shawn Pringle what your saying right now makes you sound very unintelligible. Google things before you repeat them. IRS takes 30% when you hit the lottery, you have to read it for yourself vs take people word for it. I have been working for years and I pay attention to the taxes coming out of my check. Maybe you don’t or maybe you haven’t been working that long but don’t repeat things you aren’t certain about man. Until you brush up on your research I’m done with this convo I can’t talk to people that go off he say she say.
@shawnpringle81915 жыл бұрын
@@Tony24kSPK Ok, u you're not taking into account that the football players are taxed in every state they play in, if you want to take into account uncle sam. All that together is very near 50%. Why not buy an apartment complex and put your mother in it, and let it pay for itself. Come on Plex even admits he's broke. Wake Up!!! 1million dollars isn't what it use to be. Look at the price of a loaf of bread or car, better yet a truck the cost of a house morgage!
@Tony24kSPK5 жыл бұрын
Shawn Pringle they don’t get paid by each state which makes that statement false, only 1 team signs they’re paycheck, they don’t get paychecks from every state, so that would be highly illegal. But what I can vouch for is the fact that they pay for every plane ticket, every hotel room they stay in and every meal they eat. It comes directly out of they’re check. They get signing bonuses which is usually a few million and they also get monthly income under contract which Plane tickets, hotel expenses and trainer expenses are taking out before they receive it and taxes are also taken out of those monthly checks by the state in which the checks are written. You don’t travel to 32 states to play ball and get taxed by each state just because your there for 1 night to play a game. That’s not how it works. I hate to say it but look up Tony Taylor, that’s my uncle, in which was Micheal Vick’s bodyguard before the dog incident, I have first hand knowledge and experience with a few nfl players, Aaron Brooks is one of them and he is actually great friends with my father. I don’t speak on things I don’t know about. I only speak facts.
