I’m 757 born and raised, I watched Ronald Curry and Mike Vick against my Deep Creek Hornets (who were no joke!) in the late 90’s. This podcast took me back. It really hit me the way he responded to the question of who is the best athlete from 757. He’s right, none of us really thought in those terms, we were all just so PROUD anytime someone from where we were from made it. Plax, you guys made us feel like we were on top of the world, we salute you and appreciate you for your hard work. Damn Plaxico Burress, was one of my favorite receivers when he was with my NY Giants. I'm glad he's doing well after football, I wish him nothing but continued success. As a gun owner for nearly 30 years, the first thing I became familiar with was state reciprocity. This dictates what states will accept your concealed license from another state. As a traveling business person I don't leave home without my firearm, kind of like my AMEX card "never leave home without it". However, there are several states that will not honor my Florida Concealed Weapons Permit and those are CA, OR, WA, WI, MN, IL, NY, NJ, MD, CT, and MA. If I want to conceal carry I would have to apply for those licenses independently. He's a gun owner and should've taken that responsibility more seriously. Not sure about other states but in Florida, you are not allowed to carry in a bar and if you go to a restaurant but have to pass thru the bar area to get seated that is also against the law. A piece of advice to any gun owner learn the law and secure the gun ownership book for your state and familiarize yourself with it. I'm on the eight edition of Florida's Firearms Law, Use & Ownership by Jon H. Gutmacher, Esq. which explains all of it and keeps you apprise of state law changes.
@godofthisshit2 жыл бұрын
@Rogue Wear Don't a lot of states have casual gun laws? So it's kind of out there to think someone who might be from a state like that, to all of a sudden know that other places don't play around. I would think a concealed carry permit holder from NYC is probably more diligent on overall gun laws than someone from state/city where they hand you a gun for visiting Walmart.
@roguewear212 жыл бұрын
@@godofthisshit Well technically you're wrong. They just don't "hand you a firearm for visiting Walmart". There is a background check and three day waiting period for firearms in Florida. However, if you possess your concealed carry, then yes, you can purchase a firearm and walkout the same day. This is because your background information is in the FDLE system and the firearm dealer has access to that information. Additionally, I was born in The Bronx, NY and lived there into my mid 20's and secured my NYC firearm license. However, it did not make me more "diligent" on overall firearm laws. It's up to the individual to acquire the knowledge, you are not forced to do so. I also travel around the country on business and continued to educate myself on firearm laws in the state I was visiting to insure I was legal to carry and where. I am a responsible firearm owner and have been for nearly (30) thirty years, I also took the time to educate myself on my rights as firearm licensee. So please, stop watching the talking heads on the news network(s) that spew that garbage.

Something that I appreciate with the ascension of the athlete led podcasts is that athletes society has labeled as the butt of many jokes (i.e. JR Smith for his Finals gaff, Plaxico for the shooting, etc.) are actually well rounded people who are nothing like the stigma they’ve been labeled by the likes of sports media shows. As a very happily married woman, l would like to say, that this show is beautiful for displaying BLACK MASCULINITY. BLACK MEN ARE GORGEOUS in all the shades they come in. It is not often you see a congregation of BIG, TALL, FIT BLACK MEN "speaking man", being honest and just all round MASCULINE. Thank you PIVOT PODCAST. This podcast is slowly changing the "visual messaging and stereo typying" by potraying Black men as individuals, honest, caring, strong, vulnerable, happy, laughing, joking... all round beautiful human beings! Thank you.

Love Plex, and what a blessing it is to see the man pivot away from what I still consider an injustice that was done to the man when you consider the primary motivation behind - “We will go after the man to the full extent of the law” was nothing but Political grandstanding. In a city that recorded almost 50k violent crimes that year we had one-man dead set on setting an example by going for 3 years then settling on 2 just to pad his resume so he could run on a ticket that reads I’m tough on Gun Control. Not a ticket against tough on crime, he saw an opportunity to use the media and try to shift public opinion on his side for what was a bad judgement call that resulted in an accident but was never based on bad intentions.

I like how years later, Plexicco Burruss can open up and Express in details all that happened to him as a Pittsburgh Steelers and a NY. Giant that not many people knew about and the incident that landed him in jail for hurting himself with a gunshot that nobody heard going off and thinking about how things would go afterwards to something totally different that he can pinpoint to this day that changed him forever and still successful!

His production on the field was great but what he is doing off the field will help change many lives. His testimony will help so many and I hope that after this show he gains more opportunity through partnerships and organizations to help more young Men. Great Job Fellas and a round of Applause to Plaxico Burress. God Bless

Plaxico getting shot derailed a NY Giants team that was dominant and could of repeated in 2008, they ended up 12-4, 1st seed in playoffs, out 1st round at home to Eagles... Had Eli Manning had Plaxico that run, they would of beaten the Eagles, and hosted the NFC Title game vs Cardinals in NY, and Anquon Boldin who was hurt and contributed with Fitzgerald to their Super Bowl run would have missed that game due to injury. At the least the 2008 Giants, would of been in the Super Bowl vs Big Ben and the Steelers with a chance to repeat. With 3 or more Super Bowl Appearances, no one would be questioning Eli Manning on HOF ballot.

Facts. Shouldn't be questioned anyway. He beat the goat... TWICE. His big bro couldn't do that.

I'm no fan of the QUARTBACK Eli Manning ... Eli post-football is funny AF 😂😂 ... but even I know that Eli is getting in the HOF. 2 FOR 2 in the Super Bowl vs. the GOAT (even with those being his ONE postseason W's), that's not even a question.
