Thanks for the wonderful lesson. Feels like a little jazz tune readily playable by beginners like me. Naive question: what key is this considered? C?

Yes, Key of C. The key of a song is usually (not always) determined by what chord the song ends on...where the harmony resolves to. In this case it resolves, or comes to rest on, a C major chord -- therefore it's in the key of C major. (Cue the "now you know" graphic ;-) Happy jamming!
