Hi Stu, you're a great teacher and a wonderful artist. Of course, I've subscribed. I'm 71 years old and just diving into baritone uke and tenor guitar. You're giving so much inspiration! Being a huge fan of blues and jazz, I'd be greatful to have a tutorial on Moonlight in Vermont. May I have hope? Greetings from Germany.

Love your jazz standards Stu, how about 'Baby Won't You Please Come Home', 'I Ain't Got Nothin' But the Blues', 'Sugar Blues', or 'Blue Skies Are Round the Corner'? I love the keys you pick because they fit my voice perfectly!
@UkuleleZen3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rudy -- I'll have to checkout some of those tunes...I've always loved 'Baby Won't You Please Come Home'...Key of G seems to fit most male & female ranges nicely...always so hard to tell what will work! 😉

Good one Stu. Used to sing this when I played the drums in a Trad Jazz band back in the 60's. Just surprised myself because I found I can still hit the high notes. Which is not bad for a 71 year old growler 😬. It's still one of my favourite Jazz standards. 👍
@UkuleleZen3 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome Nigel! Got those high notes deep in your DNA! I love the trad jazz sound…so cool & rootsy (“happy jazz” as it’s sometimes called) Thanks for watching! 🤙🎶😊

I never had ears for jazz till I heard this. I thought Diminished sounds clumsy. Till I learnt its methodical melodic use here. The sound got me. Thanks for everything, you are a life teacher and not just a music teacher, I see on your face and body language that you are happy and pleased with yourself and in a sense a “found man”. Keep on doing the good work. Found your channel recently hence my greetings for new year. I see a distinct ease of teaching and beauty in teaching methods in Uke teachers, so humble, so happy to help kind of behaviour in contrast to guitar teachers. Lucky to find Uke and its fantastic teachers. God Bless. My bedroom compositions for self and family will now have more spice. 🤩🙏🙏

really enjoyed this, Stu. The use of chords I rarely play made it challenging, and I was happy to learn them: Gdim7, Am7, and Dm7. Not for a rank beginner, I'd say, but great for people who've been playing a while and want to expand their range. Excellent teaching and pacing, as always. Love your classes!
