Good explanation. One thing to add. When on the E string and you hit the note with the pinky, just stretch the pinky and slide it up ever so slightly to complete the scale with C. Then slide it back down when coming down. Good habit to get into for muscle memory on where that final note in the scale is on the E string.

That's a great tip for getting to the C. I usually shift though.
