Jonny: Thank you for covering this song. As a child, I was one of the singers on A Charlie Brown Christmas and got to work with Vince Guaraldi on this project. Watching him play and improvise was incredible. The singers were members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church choir in San Rafael California. The soundtrack Album just went five times platinum and there is a new release out this week that includes lots of outtakes during recording sessions that were found a couple of years ago. Your instruction is masterful and I am proud to be a Piano With Jonny member

Jonny, I am already a member of Piano with Jonny. But I want to personally thank you for making this particular video. The depth, detail, and effort you put into your Quick Tip lesson is just incredible. I have zero financial incentive to say so, but honestly anybody thinking of joining Piano with Jonny should do so. The VALUE I receive from Jonny and his teaching methods far exceeds what I pay in a membership fee. This KZbin video is really just a part of the incredible full lesson on his website for this QuickTip lesson. Just my two cents. And again, I don't know Jonny, this is NOT an advertisement, I am just a big, big fan of how he teaches jazz piano.

Thank you Jonny. I'm a beginner pianist, and REALLY appreciate the way you identify and break down all these sophisticated jazz chords. I'm still working on getting proficient with basic triads and all inversions in all 12 keys, so this may be getting a bit ahead of myself.. I can't help it! I definitely wanna understand what I'm playing as opposed to just playing. This really helps. A beautiful rendition of a lovely song. Truly, ~Alex

I grew up with this wonderful piece of music. And I'm thrilled that Jonny teaches us here. I learned it in 2 weeks and play it every day. It has so much jazz in it. I love it. And thank you Jonny, that's how you enriched my life! Greetings from Germany.

I literally just gave a copy of this music to one of my piano students today. I told him the chords were just so beautiful. I told him the song was in a jazz style and could really be played any time of year. He is maybe 13. He took to it immediately. Just a gorgeous piece of music.

Fantastic lesson on this magical guaraldi classic. Thirty-five years ago, while on Christmas break from school, I had worked out an arrangement by ear. this quick tip lesson solved a couple of wrinkles I still had for voicings and timings. Since I can no longer read music due to sight loss, Jonny has a wonderful way of demonstration and explanation that makes it possible to learn by ear alone.

Hello Jonny - this is as always a great treat with your insightful and uncomplicated explanations of the music structure. I've been listening to your quick tips now for about a year and it has really helped! I pulled out the sheet music book for the Charlie Brown Christmas ( which I haven't done for years ) and for the first time I understood it and was able to play most of it without great difficulty at all - felt so good and all thanks to you. I've looked at your lessons many times to consider if I could do that and since I can't I wanted to tell you why so that maybe you could consider offering something that I would be able to sign up for. Here's the problem - I don't have much time to devote to it. So If I pay for a month I'll end up getting a few days out of it and in this economy that's just not something I can square with. Could you offer another option that would essentially allow me to keep and have endless access to? Like maybe pay per lesson - allow me to lock it into my account or download the full lesson so that I can work it out in my own time and then move to the next one? Just crossing my fingers here - either way I do appreciate all you do. Thanks so much!!!

Hey with ChatGPT I've asked it to write a jazz chord progression with extensions may be a fun video. I also then asked it to write a melody. which it did. Conversation write a jazz chord progression in Bb that has a 2 A sections and 1 B section, the chords must use extensions, each section must have 10 unique chords next conversation write a melody for the previous progression

Nice, though the original arrangement can never, in my humble opinion, be improved. It is a masterpiece as is. The Mona Lisa doesn't need to be repainted with other colors.
