It's also important to note that over-analysis can become just as detrimental (if not worse) than an uninspired shitter-slaying session. Mechanically deliberate enough to actually warmup and effectively practice, but not so focused that you attempt to optimize for every last little idiosyncrasy in a futile attempt to min/max your way to a major championship via a mathematically perfect keyboard tilt (its still too far left). This is why players will promptly adjust their res/crosshair/viewmodel/monitor height etc after losing a gunfight because a yellow crosshair is obviously suboptimal. Basically, be mindful of your mental/tilt level. Your focus could start to drift from shit that actually matters.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl 11 сағат бұрын
@@Konkr420 Absolutely! I think most of us are guilty of changing sens/res/anything after losing a bad gunfight or just a couple of minutes of poor performance. The strive for being perfect leads to a very toxic mentality as you mentioned, and I completely agree with it. Simplicity is often the right way to go, and here I would say it also applies. Set some goals for your session, try to meet them - that's it. You don't have to measure the length of your session until the last millisecond, you don't have to check if your monitor angle tilt changed during the DM. Thank you for the valuable comment brother!

@@bileyiwnl No problem :) glad to hear I'm not the only one suffering from prior tilt-based frustrations lol. Also wanted to say I thought your last point was a really good idea. I've played DM without sound, but never with the express purpose of using the nerf as a training tool. It's a great point. switched to 16:9 hopefully no sound will help me get used to it maybe a lil faster

@Konkr420 16:9 is a great choice - trust me, if you stick to it you'll love it. I played 16:9 for more than a year nonstop but recently switched to 4:3 to get more frames for recordings/streams, but I miss 16:9... :(

if you play 30-45 min of deathmatch, PLEASE make sure to take a little break before you join a premier or matchmaking game, so your brain can resett and adjust to the diffrent gameplay..
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl 12 сағат бұрын
@@tuffel VERY on point! A break after so much time of being focused is required not only because well, you might be tried from it, but also because you won't be on your "A game" after it, due to the unusual nature of DM and willingness to fight everyone instead of playing smarter/for the team. It's not warm up, it's practice, so a little break is absolutely a good idea!

The point on conscious decision making is really solid. I've spent way too much time running around in DM like a headless chicken, which means that my reactive aim and counter strafing is quite good now but I really struggle in the more common fights that dominate real games like deliberately peeking angles and holding angles. Its quite demotivating therefore when your performance in game is nowhere near as good as you know it can be.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
@@Fyr35555 I can COMPLETELY relate to this! It's very easy to train wide swings and reactive aiming in deathmatch, but other scenarios also happen in a real match and they deserve some love too! That's why jt's important to really think about what you need to work on, amazing comment brother! Trust me, keep working on your game and it WILL pay off! Regarding to that bonus tip, here is my tip: stop being afraid to die. Stop camping in same spots repeating same movement. You will not get better, you just kill people that are not ready for you. Put yourself in hard positions.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
VERY nice addition brother! The dying part also connects a little bit with the tip about the scoreboard, I totally agree. If you are in the same places all the time, taking same pathways, same duels, you will be always stuck in your comfort zone. Part of learning and improving is making mistakes by trying something new and unusual, letting your brain catch up and improving from that. Very valuable!

@omarhadzalic9428 I got you man! I'll try and think of some more: - first confirm that you are ON TARGET and only then shoot the enemy (don't shoot instantly when you see, track him for a while) - different weapons (same principles as the other ones, so deagle, m4a4 etc.) - practice just one thing at a time - try ONLY spraying, try ONLY bursts or ONLY one taps - this will be difficult at first because you are limited to just one mechanic of CS weapons, but it's important to master these things. I really hope you'll get to lvl 10 brother! Can't wait to see you there!

After the DM session, should i jump in a competitive right away or take a break?
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
Wow very intersting question! If you mean "DM session" as the one I'm describing (so, PRACTICE), then take a 10,20,30 minute break. I'd recommend doing something without a screen - preferably going for a walk, cleaning the dishes or just simply lying down on your bed and listening to some chill music (NOT scrolling on tiktok). After this time, you are free to play :) But if you meant "DM session" as a WARM UP, then of course you can right away go into the match.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
The purpose for that break is to let your brain kind of "acquire" the new habits, knowledge, analyze the peeks and strafes you did to learn from what was wrong and remember what was working and how you did it. A good time for practice is to do it before sleeping, because it is during the sleep when brain is most active for learning from what happened that day.

@@bileyiwnl I meant it as the practice session. I followed your advice and was being conscious of what i do in the DM practice session. It quickly made me realize that i have been practicing in DM server the wrong way my whole life. dont remove your headset. There will never be situation like that in real match.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
You've touched on a very good topic. The fact that something will never happen in a real game doesn't mean it's worthless to spend time on it. Basketball players go to the gym to increase their strength, agility or stability, and it is not directly correlated with basketball. Us, CS players, we play DM, aim trainers and workshop maps not because these scenarios will happen in game, but to train everything else to prepare for what can happen.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
Removing the headset isn't necessary all the time, that's why I put it as a bonus tip. It works for me, helps me survive longer sessions without my head hurting and also I feel like it improves my reactiveness/spacial awareness
@riling

@@bileyiwnl you could also say that play with bad PC. When you get finally to play good PC it feels so easy. As zywoo dont even play DM at all and he is one of the best in the world.
@bileyiwnl
@bileyiwnl Күн бұрын
@@riling having a good PC doesn't instantly make you a pro. And yeah, Zywoo is definitely an outlier, but it doesn't mean that he chose the best way. He is probably the most talented player in CS history, and we can't have the same rules for us (humans) like we have for Zywoo. At the end of the day, everyone has to find the right thing for themselves

@@bileyiwnl Well I get it that if you wish to make interesting videos on yt its great to have new ideas. Anyhow keep it simple is what people at the top do. If you have no headset its better to train and play still than not play at all. @@bileyiwnl I don't do it. What I wanted to highlight , is that sound is a great component when shooting. As you said ,and you were right, without sound you can focus on your aim , and not be overwhelmed with all the sound cues, the hits, the recoil, the shoots etc. Makes you proper aim and timing to shoot and not re act to the shooting. Does it makes sense? However of course if you playing MM or Face it you need to be able to listen to , footsteps, etc . But it is a very interesting part of the game and how to improve.
