This is very helpful advice. The first question is always about what chords you need to learn to play the music you like. Since I strive to play blues too, I need the commonly used Dominant 7th chords as well. 🎸🎸🎸

Another way to play C#m is same chord form as D7 1st fret B G & D strings (No Barre needed ) And a Gm can be played Barring 3 bottom strings 3rd fret eBG strings strum only the bottom 3

Not sure if I’m understanding your C#m. Can you explain that better? How do you play a D7 shape on the first fret ?Also take your Am shape and the same way Matt moves it up two frets to play Bm, move it up two more and you have C#m

@@johnberger7039 I know how to Play C#m with as a barre Also how to play Gm with barre Was sharing how to play both without barring ! I can play all my barre chords different shapes no problem ! There are many short cuts to chords ! Also I know all power chords up and down the neck ! Yes all forms can be played without barring ! But sometimes full chord is necessary! Thanks !

@@josephgalasso8780 But could you still explain to me how you play that C#m. I’m all in for learning different ways,especially with my arthritis,barre chords are difficult. I just don’t think I fully understand where you were placing your fingers and would like to know for another option.

@@johnberger7039 Just move D7 up Stay on 1st Fret (C#m)! And up one more same fret is B7! can be played with 3 fingers !
