Larry Crane and Kenny Arnorff were the heart and soul of the Mellencamp sound. I believe getting them back would rejuvenate John ten-fold. Yes his voice sounds much raspier due to being older and decades of heavy cigarette smoking but I believe getting Kenny and Larry back in the band would put some much needed pep back in John's step. It really hasn't been the same.

Love Larry. He is so incredibly talented and he was such an important element of the early Mellencamp records. I love his solo records as well. His records are so good if not better than anything Mellencamp has put out in my opinion.

Larry is a Consummate guitar player and a proficient musician, instrumental in the legacy of Mellencamp, Aarnoff Wanchik, Meyers, etc. Without Their relationship I think There would not be wii

remember oboe clarinet and all wood winds. No shame in making beautiful noise when the time is right. Think about this: "Bitches are either gone or too refined".

Larry Crane was the soul of Mellencamp's songs. Never really liked post 1990 (post Crane) Mellencamp. Not as good, period. The grassroots sound disappeared. Commercialized sound came into Mellencamp after Crane left. God Bless you Larry Crane, your songs retain the soul of Seymour, Bloomington, Midwest. Monroe Resevoir, --- Mellencamp lost his way. Just look at him. Look at you. You look good now, he looks haggard and worn down. His soul is so dark. He once knew of Jesus and turned his back on him. I hope you turn towards him if you haven't already.

I kind of agree....everything up to the early 90s were okay, then John's music went too groove based for me. However I like most of his 2000 onwards stuff. Just my opinion !
