Yes .,Tony brown was one of my inspirations for taking up this instrument .I used to come home from long hours on the road as a fuel tanker driver I believe like him a trucker and sit down at 2/3 in the wee hrs of the morning just chilling out listening to a master musician on tube at his best .his wife Sally messaged me to inform me he had passed away due to a fight with cancer ♋ god bless him and his family , I only recently started playing again after a work related accident , left in me with permanent ear damage and 👂aids , still struggle day to day lost my tone and mojo . But after watching him play she's started loving you again .has gave me a big jolt .🙏bless Tony browne 👍👏👏👏👏🏴🇬🇧

Tony, after having listened to this time and time again as with many of your other videos, I sense there is something more at 'play' that the 10 strings on the ShoBud and the pedals, knee levers and the Black-Box........and that is SOUL as evidenced in fingers, feet, knees and 'HEART' in coaxing out your signature enviable tone.........IMHO you are God-gifted beyond the countless hours spent in developing your Steel playing 'magic' ........also IMHO that 'tonal magic' that you create places you in the upper echelon and rightfully alongside the Nashville greats and other master Steel players........thanks for sharing and please keep the tunes 🎶 coming........God Bless...........Mike
@tonybpr314 жыл бұрын
Mike, I thank you for those fine compliments. I don't regard my playing as top drawer, I just like to play nice songs in an easy listening, uncomplicated way. The steel can be very expressive without being overplayed and if people enjoy it , then that's job worth doing. Thanks again.
@alt2ooning4 жыл бұрын
Tony Browne ......Tony I admire your humility and after having listened to your repertoire of popular country tunes you have proven that "less is more" in the sense of being expressive and meaningful..........Tony, I have the courtesy to ask for permission to download this tune and "Lonely at Christmas" onto a tribute page that I developed for a deceased dear friend.......I would acknowledge credits to you in the audio player if you grant permission......it is perfectly understandable if you do not want your music hi-jacked.........take care and as always God Bless......Mike
@tonybpr314 жыл бұрын
No problem with that at all Mike.
@alt2ooning4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your generosity for not only answering my request but also in sharing your masterful renderings of traditional country music......the singing strings on that Sho-Bud under your mastery is the 'lyrical' voice that I hear.......thanks and as always " take care, be well, God Bless".......no need to respond ........Mike

Beautiful. I like to see vids that show the player working the pedals and knee levers. I know you're affecting the notes, but I can't really figure it out. Some day before I die I'd like to be in the room with a steel player and ask a few questions.
@MrPatdeeee3 жыл бұрын
You are 100% right. Pedal and Knee engaging is an art. If'n yuz don' get this right; the instrument is NOT going to put out beautiful music. GAR-OWN-TEED! Of course, the right and left hands are vital for this too. But THE most important of all, is your heart. For as Jerry Byrd many years ago: "There are two ways to play a Steel Guitar. One, is from the brain to the hands. Two, is from the brain to the heart to the hands!". Never more true words from a mortal on this planet. GAR-OWN-TEED!

R.I.P now you can sit in with all your hero's and idols and if I had to guess there's a steel guitar beside the elevator to heaven to make the trip that more magical god bless you and everyone else and thank you for giving me the chance to overcome my own demons and handicaps to be sitting back at the steel and the 20+ other instruments I play after almost losing my left arm and leg it's been a 4+ yr journey of learning how to pick up and push my foot up and down got drop wrist and drop foot after getting compartment syndrome from being overdosed in the floor cut the blood flow off and they had to cut out black dead muscle from my arm and leg and a month on life support with a 99% chance of death complete organ failure heart attack coma death and rebirth threw pain I shouldn't have been born and I should have died so I know God has a plan for me take care everyone and good luck on your musical journey
