Im kind of curious (bear in mind I've never really done competitive smash but I've done tourneys for quite a few other games, notable SF and Tekken), WHY exactly do people think this game won't be competitive? Its got a faster pace than brawl (albeit slower than melee) It certainly seems to be better balanced than Brawl to be sure, and also takes away most (if not all) of the random factors that would've affected brawl's matches. I'd think its a little soon to be making judgements on the game, just my two cents anyway.

I like the competitive side of Mele... Smash, and yeah, I agree with you, this game seems SUPER better than Brawl, faster and with some good combos, by now it doesn't seem like you can go deep in the game but melee didn't during the trailers, god, they even changed everything last second (if you watch the gameplay in the beta when they announced it, the game looked more like 64, not melee) I hate people whining, that gives a bad representation to the competitive scene, now all casuals (not a rude/mean term, if you're a casual that's ok, but you're still one, it's like the opposite side) think that the "tourneyfags" (that IS a mean term) are all like that. Just play the game and deal with it LOL (sorry if my redaction wasn't on point here)
