You think? I’m not sure about playing the opening with both colors. Doesn’t seem that realistic for non-GMs to handle.

yes, I wish it were not played with white though , very confusing for me. .I just skip to the blacks

Best part of the Taimanov is that it doesn't trigger pattern recognizers for most players, so they have to invent their own plans earlier in the game. Keeping the center more fluid lets you force people to prove they can play all 3 phases of the game, and your experience with the middlegame transitions leads to easy wins. Fun opening!

I've been playing the Taimanov with both colors since the series began, what a fun weapon to add to the arsenal. You can play it positionally, you can play it for the attack, the king is strangely safe in the center when you aren't forced to move the d pawn, so many interesting possibilities. Thanks for sharing!

Love your content. Can you please use a board and pieces with better contrast? If the lighting isn't perfect, it's too hard to see the black pieces on the dark squares. It's better after my cataract surgery and with my new Samsung tablet, but still unnecessarily difficult. Surely there are others who struggle.

I started playing the taimonov because of this series. And funnily enough ive encountered people playing it as well. Its super fun to play and its such a breath of fresh air after playing the caro kann exclusively for over 3-4 years against 1.e4. And i actually find the structures to be quite similar with the exception of the fianchettod light square bishop.

Paused the vid for reasons at 26 mins. Come back to resume and see 10 mins left and think “ah there’s only one more game” but then I realised that this isn’t titled Tuesday, it’s a beating against 1500s! There’ll be at least two more games haha. Right I was.

With the Stonewall, playing it with both sides makes sense to me. But I can not wrap my head around playing the Sicilian with white. Also... it drives me bananas how effortless you make it look.

_counter intuitive_ does not exist .. When people say that , what they really mean is counter logic , or some other part of the reasoning process. Intuition is knowing & it only happens in rare glimpses for humans , generally, at this stage in our evolution. It is at the opposite end of the spectrum( of consciousness) from Instinct Instinct is doing without thinking , intuition is knowing without thinking It is from where all great 'discoveries' have arrived - from those moments of illumination..

You just made me throw up in my mouth. Buy hey, I get it. You're one of those people who lack self-awareness by thinking you needed to correct someone when the truth is, you've unintentionally just outed yourself as a douchebag. This is why you wonder why you never get invited to the cool kids' house.
