There's even more to that story with the last player; With That Username, he's clearly a well-aged and longtime Howard Stern fanboy.... Which means: This is someone who is utterly convinced that one should go through life as a vulgar, self-satisfied donkey.

Got up to 1900 in bullet playing the Taimanov - thank you Aman. Love pawn storming the king-side and castling queen side. Bishops are deadly in so many variations.

Hei brah, i have a question, when the oppenent plays f4 in the first moves like After e6, than you played a6 before Qc7, Is that a "rule" cause a part from f4 genereally i have some problems when i play a6 and they respond with a4 stopping b5, so than i dont know what to do with the bpawn, please help me, thank you so mutch for the videos are really instructive 💪
@natedeezy1652
@natedeezy1652 7 ай бұрын
I'm 1400 with absolutely no studying of the engine so take this with a grain of salt but almost always my response to an early a4 pawn push from the opponent is to get your b pawn to b6 in this setup. From what I've seen you almost never want to allow them to go a4 then a5 so your b6 pawn will prevent that. But again as a disclaimer I haven't ever checked the engine or done a deep dive on theory so that could be wrong but I also struggled with the early flank pawn pushes & started doing that & it's worked at my ELO so results might vary lol
@ThortheMerciless
@ThortheMerciless 7 ай бұрын
I'm around 2000 and I agree with this. If they can play a5 then you want to play b6 to stop them. Just one caveat - if you can play something more active then you may want to play that first.
@cal9892
@cal9892 7 ай бұрын
@@ThortheMerciless yes okay b6 Is logical if a4 but you cant create the pressure on the cfile with Qc7 and Rook c8 cause without b5 the white cpawn can move more Easy, and thats the plan aman does in a lot of these games
@cal9892
@cal9892 7 ай бұрын
I mean you still can create pressure but not so mutch so maybe you should change that Plan in the cfile and thats not so easy
@ThortheMerciless
@ThortheMerciless 7 ай бұрын
@@cal9892 I'm puzzled. b5 does not stop c3 and the point of b6 is to stop a5 - you can then go on to support a b5 push (a5 prevents that because of ep). The fight to get in b5 is part of many openings, not just the Taimanov.

Since you started this Taimanov speedrun, I can say that I am following it and playing only this opening for both black and white. Interestingly, I find myself more successful as white, whereas it is the main opening for black! I have gone from a rating of 500 to 1100 in blitz and 1300 in rapid in about a month with it. Thank you!

Your Taimanov speed run is proof that studying the Sicilian is a waste of time, doubly so at amatuer level where anti lines dominate. Still, this is a fun video to watch. Thanks
@joeb4142
@joeb4142 Ай бұрын
There are so many things wrong with this comment that I hardly know where to begin. I’ll start with the fact that chess players don’t play like engines so studying theory only gets you so far. This series shows you how to exploit all the many errors made by lower rated players, something not usually explored.
@jamesreed4483

@@joeb4142 So we agree that attempting to play the Taimanov seldom results in an actual Taimanov. The speed run shows how to handle this collage of possibilities. Not sure what we disagree on.

Anybody notice that all black games start with e4 ? Was wondering how you play this Taimanov if the opponent plays c4 ( or even d4 in this case) .
@BillCypher95
@BillCypher95 7 ай бұрын
You don't, he's only showing the e4 games, but he was playing different openings if the opponent didn't play e4. I think still c5 against c4 and Dutch against d4, but I'm not 100% on that

@@BumWatcher not sure I understand your reply because that's just barely English, but yes, Ra8 Qg5+, Kh1 Qd5 I guess and that's a draw at the very least. Still impressive you took Aman's amazing position and turned it into a draw in one bad move.

@@BillCypher95 You can still move the C rook to the E file, or prepare the whole thing with F4, F3. The point of "absolutely nothing" is for absolute sitting brains to have a waiting session at, as if not meant, dude. Also, I hated Aman's ACTUAL nothing move so much, I had to hate on it some more.
