Thanks for those thematic speedruns. I feel the need to show them to my students, but they're like 8 years old and can't understand English. But I'll find a way. Also the shortcut lines like the Winawer with an early Ne7 and b6 are clever ideas. Inspirations everywhere.

The king wouldn’t be able to get to a3 because of the stutter-step move that he played, making sure that the a3 square was defended.

Generally, FD leads to strangulated positions around f7 black pawn. If I castle into it, white usually heavilly attacks on the king's side. Sometimes one defends it, sometimes not. Usually, black does not have strong attacking possibilities. Mostly a forbearing defense. Generally, my sense is that is more sound than the attempt of stonewall as a black, but the nature is as mentioned above.

I did allow a draw at the takeback request, accepted a rematch, and lost the second rematch game with incredible speed. Ironically, every time I allowed a takeback, either to be nice, or because I believed I was still ahead, I Always Lost. Every single time. It must be psychology on my part, but I never accept takebacks in any game for any reason anymore.

I used to when I first started, but then no one else ever does so. So it's just part of the game and it sucks but whatever. Generally mouse slips happen when people try to move too fast. Which they are doing because they want to pressure me on the clock. So it's simple risk reward - play super fast and accept either blundering/ mouse slipping but be up on time OR move pieces meticulously but waste precious seconds doing so

15:25 I was once in a tournement in an absolute winning position. I was asking myself why tf my oppenent did not leave yet. At the very end, I mouse slipped my queen and lost the game. I was so mad that I told myself to never do the same to someone else. So yes, I offer draw most of the times, except if I am tilted or if my opponent did something I did not like, wich is pretty rare.

Why on earth would I play the French? I find the video title quite amusing, "Win with the French Defense" it's like why are you even playing a game if you're purposefully avoiding having any fun? Playing the French is about as much fun as paying taxes. Out of Magnus' top 5 openings as black against e4, the French is where he loses the most games. Am I supposed to believe Aman is better than Magnus? Actually that might not be a stretch given how Mr. Carlsen has abandoned chess while Aman is obliterating 1800's in the Mayflower Open once a year. Ever heard of the candidates? Leave those poor kids alone (they already have to deal with living in Nova Scotia) and try out your beloved French Defense against MVL... I'll wait. And to anyone in reading this, unless your title starts with Grand and ends with Master don't even think about replying to me.
