Hi, I have to say, after ten plus years of watching guitar tutorial videos, yours has to be one of the best I have come across, so relaxed and to the point, thank you so much.

Ive been teaching myself for a year now. I chose songs which i knew lyrically and could work toward the rythym and then add finger picking. So I have those plus i add new ones to challenge and grow my skills while also adding Theory and using patterns to find all the notes on the fretboard. My first four gotos are: 1) Against the Wind - Bob Seger 2) Save Tonight - Buckeye Cherry 3) Let it Be - Beatles 4) Come On Get Higher - Matt Nathanson

@@LeighFugeGuitar I found it locally on FB marketplace for £40, it's a Freshman brand purple maple ridge colour/design, has a folk shape body with a cutaway. From what I could find out through searching the net they are around the £300 area brand new, this one pretty much is. It looks barely touched or at least well looked after. Came with a bag, strap, couple of picks, 2 capos and a cable so it was a pretty good deal!

Hello, You are doing great as a teacher, but let me give you one advice. It is going to be very helpful to perform part of the song before start explaining how to play.

@@jameslifetimelearnernope, as it’s educational content, and I’m not using any extracts from the actual songs (because I’m playing them) it’s covered under a fair use policy. Educational materials are fair use when it comes to copyright, this is KZbin’s rule. If I used segments of the actual recordings then it would cause a copyright issue

Good beginner lessons! Have you got anything for more advanced players who can follow you in real time, sans explaining? Kinda like you do at the end of each example, where you play while the chord is shown? I’m asking for myself, heehee. That’s because I play by ear well enough to catch ( and play) most everything on a recording before it’s done. But! I might interpolate it wrong with a wrong improvisation. Like the “add,” “aug,” etc chord embellishments. Regardless, you’re doing something really good!

I’m making chord flash cards and put together the ones I need to play the song. Not original but very helpful. I’m old as dirt so this is a memory strategy. Thank you. I enjoy your lessons.
@LeighFugeGuitarАй бұрын
Flash cards are a great way to help remember things! I've used that when teaching people in the past! If it works, keep doing it! Check out chordpic.com, you can make chord diagrams for any chord you want, that might be useful for creating some cards. Glad you enjoy the lessons, that means a lot

Em Em D6/9 D6/9 x2
@PhilBaird12 ай бұрын
Play a standard Em at the second fret. The D6th is then played using the bass strings, by dropping the second finger to the G string for the A note. The F sharp is played with the pinkie on the D string at the fourth fret. Sounds just like the original. A second guitar could play it the way shown in the video as it's the same notes.
