It’s an underpowered strategy, so calling it “anti-tenpai” is overselling it, but I do love how Vaalmonica’s best card is perfectly designed to counter its protection. The trap activates its effects in sequence… popping a spell/trap, then bouncing a monster. So you can wait for them to activate the field spell, immediately pop it, then immediately bounce the now-affected monster.

Ritual Beasts is another strategy since you can Archnemeses Protos turbo if you're going first. Calling Fire is an FTK against Tenpai (and FKSE). And if you blind Protos call Fire, and your opponent is on something like Yubel, the rest of the Ritual Beast endboard can easily deal with any Yubel starters.

yeah sure RB is a very good deck especially with Tenpai around but it's also one of the most complicated decks in Yugioh. I'm still learning the lines and sometimes it's really hard to keep track of what is still missing in your combo and what did you already use. and one of your biggest threats is the Timer xD

You might want to consider adding Lord of Heavenly Prison to your lab list. It fully protects your back row from destruction effects, and with tenpai usually running 3 lightning storm, heavy storm, duster, and maybe a few MST, definitely not a bad card to have to protect your back row.

Great video topic! I think even though it is not a popular deck, Infernoble deserves a segment too, since it ends on so many negate effects (multiple spell/trap negates and 1 or more monster negates), it makes it really difficult for opponents to go into their plays if you are able to establish a board through the hand traps.

But basically you use the 2 new cards released in MD Gen and Ken wherein they summon their opposite to the opponent field (Use Isolde especially if you didnt hard draw either. Then use mikanko cards to helps spam level 3s to make acid golem but make sure u summon geonator trnsverser before acid golem so you wont lock yourself then switch acid golem with Ken or gen on their field with geonator and the acid golem lock is done

With the labrynth deck, you could also use Transaction rollback and "Rise to Full Height" to stop Tenpai from attacking via a lingering effect that's difficult to respond to.

Hi, yeah just play goblin, it absorbs at any point has its own utopia and doesnt need to break the board since it can attack directly, with the right opener you can even do beatrice shenanigans. Its easy to play and requires barely any URs

Meanwhile me with tear "yeah i guess book of moon is more than enough" The best part of tear is you dont have to played all the weird tech people running aroud, just played normally, but i highly recommend to play 2 snow on 40ish list, rather than all in 60 list. Any deck utilizing protos and Collosus also really great, against the strat. Or my fav played thunder dragon, this deck literally chomping against 1 v 1 ht like ash or veiler, while make collosus and rip like 2-4 card depending on how many ht you fight against.

I think RDA can be a good counter against Tenpai too. Red Supernova Dragon can't be destroyed by card effect and if it hits 6500 ATK, it would be difficult for Tenpai to out. The condition is also decently consistent condition depending on how you make the deck. Pure Resonator can consistently get him on field with Resonator Dragon and Red Resonator, putting RSnD to 6k ATK pretty easily, even more often when using hand traps like Ash and Veiler, adding to its ATK.

Depends what they start with. If they lead Paidra you're somewhat forced to hit it or the Sangen it searches which leaves you open to Kaimen/Chundra. If they have an extra extender, your one negate is probably not going to be enough.

The VV extra isn't actually too important, the most common ones you use are Dyna Mondo and Meteorburst which aren't URs, the main matters more. In order if you finished the main: Linkuriboh, N'tss, Chaos Angel, S:P, I:P, Baronne, Accel, Ty-Phon, Elf, Apollousa, Anima. If you want to you can cut some of those URs for more copies of Dyna mondo/Meteorburst/Herald and run Extrav and Prosp

@@xenonim yes, Ferret flames also works through the field spell and you have several counter traps for red reboot and duster, one of which is searchable in engine. Chundra's effect in damage step can also be negated and destroyed by intact, strike and iron thunder.

I hate that konami is constantly bringing in one card combo decks which gives zero loss for running hand traps in their deck. Does the Lightsworn FTK actually work as shown here? You have 25 monsters in the Main and 15 in the Extra deck, so exactly 40 in total. Submersible Carrier Aero Shark needs 40 monsters banished to FTK with two activations. How, then, do you get both 40 monsters banished _and_ a Shark (with material) on the field, let alone the setup to summon another Shark (which will require additional monsters on the field)?

I'm actually really happy that Tenpai is now in the game, since I play plant link. As long as they don't open Maxx C or shifter I can play through most combinations of hand traps and still leave a layered board that they usually can't break. Konkon tribute for cost gets around the Sangen Summoning protection. Magnolia ensures that my monsters cant be destroyed by card effects, so basically Dark Hole and Raigeki become useless. All I have to worry about is hope they don't open a combination of Lightning Storm + Droplets, and even if they do, I can play around it by sending Regulus for cost to negate the backrow wipe. I'm playing rating duels and I have yet to lose a single game to Tenpai when they allow me to make the full or near full board. I'm not exagerating, I'm like 20-0 against them when I make the board. I have lost games to them when they stop me though, so its not an unbeatable strategy. But they need to get really lucky and open either maxx c/shifter, or 2+ handtraps, and depending on my hand, sometimes 3 is not enough to stop the combo comletely.

Also noticed they cannot beat Ragnaraika bloom + benghalancer because it brings their guys down to 2700 and your Beng is at 2800. Even if you get handtrapped you can beat them with just the mudan, sheet and konkon pretty consistently unless they open breakers (if they do you already have endboard because they either didnt open handtraps or didnt open enough engine)

This is a deck that should not be allowed in a best of one format. It’s either you blind go second and hope that it’s not literally any other deck that wants to go first or it’s blind go first and pray your opening hand can get through the 3+ hand traps and 2 starters they opened. Without a side deck, this deck needs to be destroyed immediately

You should play anti-spell in lab instead of rivalry. Rivalry doesn't do anything vs tenpai

they play a lot of back row removal and Red Reboot. if they didn't have Red reboot Lab would cook them every time but red reboot with S/T removal makes it almost unplayable.

Ok, but can someone tell me how to win as tenpai? My usual experience: draw ghost rabbit (he is glued to my hand), lightning storm, chundra, paidra, maxx c. Maxx c gets called by, rabbit doesn't achieve anything, opp passes to me with 2-4 interruptions, then I normal paidra, paidra gets negated and destroyed and the game tells me to surrender. Like going 1st is more toxic, you have a board + ht, while if going 2nd you have just ht.

Tenpai is specifically DESIGNED to go second due to the fact that they can play through interruptions easy. almost EVERYTHING in this deck is a one card starter and its playstyle is one of the easiest ever in Yugioh history, you can play 25! None Engine cards in the deck, there is no other deck that is possible to do that without loosing concistency. But most players are prepared for Tenpai because we already knew that there will be a lot of people playing the deck so either you are one of them or you change your Deck in a way to counter Tenpai specifically, because if you are not able to stop Tenpai, you have lost a 100000% because they can make like 35K damage in one turn uninterrupted at a certain point

I do agree with most you have written, but I would add few comments: - right now every deck has some way to deal 8000 or close to 8000 dmg, so the fact that tenpai can do 37 000 doesn't really change that much. If you lost interruption war, you have no chance of come back anyway - tenpai is not as resiliant as people think. I mean yeah, field spell is a custom card, but besides that if you clean the normal summoned dragon the only follow up is sangen kaimen. So if TD doesn't have access to any of each is basically end of the turn. No gy shenaningans, no spirit of yubel, no sp nothig.

@@ponurygrzesiek2812 The 35K damage DO Matter since you can deal lethal damage regardless what your opponent has a a defesive line as long as some of your Monsters are big enough to clear the opponents monsters so you can lethal through alsomost everything, If you can successfully resolve the Fieldspell you have won anyways because you can just Make your Level 10 Synchro in the Main phase and still have enough damage to finisch your opponent without giving him any window to interrupt your place so your damage does matter since you have lethal on board regardless of wich lines you play most of the time so... Paidra is a 1 card combo asd well as Kaimen, Even Dora dora and as I said the fact that tenpai can still play 25 none engine is disgusting just play some handtraps and Boardbreakers as well and thats it and all the Tenpai Monsters have a quickeffect to synchro so you can dodge imperm, veiler etc anyway.

Yubel shits on tenpai, just keep your boss monsters alive. Unless they know how to counter you and disable effects during battle phase while destroying your yubel, you’re pretty much fine. Takes a skilled tenpai player to win, yubels pretty brainlessly easy.

@@ayham613 when you're playing a meta that already requires you to run a bunch of specific cards (we all know why), adding more cards to that list isn't great especially when they don't even have overlap (maxx c minigame cards aren't actually good vs tenpai and anti-Tenpai techs are often very specific if your deck's main engine doesn't have anything for it)

Time for one the most based Deck from the Anime for This Format (Buster Blader) to Truly shine in Tenpai Format for Master Duel, Since I'll be doing Buster Blader Bystial Horus in a few Days since I'm trying to build some other Decks RN but That Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion Bundle gave Me 50 extra UR Crafting Points to use plus got more from Dismantling extra cards I'm still speechless on having 689 UR Crafting Points RN (F2P), Man being disciplined as well as Being a diverse Duelist that uses a lot of Decks up to My liking while giving others a chance (Note: I've been with Master Duel since June 4th, 2022 & Have come a long way for having 35 Decks Slots until we get more in the future) My Dedication & Determination is something else in Master Duel as well as Yu-Gi-Oh! In general💙💜
