Also hate seeing stormtroopers using it because it's just better than the DLT 19 in game, which stormtroopers should be using . Not clone rifles. They should have limited the weapons to the right faction and era, but still make them customizable. Same with the skins. Would have been cool if your skin changed depending on what star cards you had equipped. Customization could have been fun and made sense, but it's like a child was in charge in that department. Also if vehicles are added, hopefully they're co-op like the original Battlefronts, Battlefield, and Squad. It's so fucking stupid that only 1 player can operate the AT-TE and you can't even use the rear turrets in EA's.

@@beddeb45 I know!! One of the things i hated about EA's battlefront two. I hated having hero's from the different eras showing up! and I disliked all the cross era weapons. It really broke my immersion seeing clones with A280s stormtroopers using dc-15s and all that.

I think the reason the maps are so good is because they’re official Battlefront maps with some added cover. Whether it’s ripped assets like others are saying, or just recreated, that’s the reason. Utapau, Kamino, Yavin IV, and Mos Eisley are definitely from the original two, and Geonosis looks like the reboot

The devs behind this mod have had no part of Galactic Contention. They have openly said that they stole assets from Battlefront 2 as well as other star wars games, while GC has meticulously handcrafted every asset that is used in their mod.

Man we got so robbed with Battlefront 2 getting the plug pulled while it was in the middle of its massive comeback. The game had already been good for a while, but it was finally getting the recognition it deserved for an insane redemption from a terrible launch. We could all still be playing the game now with dozens of new or remastered maps, heroes and villains, weapons, etc.

After playing the OG Battlefront II, I'd prefer no heroes as they're only a means to an end when the enemy has theirs out. Troops in Clone Wars duking it out is where it's at as far as I'm concerned, but damn those Super Battle Droids look good in first person, hope to see a mod that scales anywhere as close as the originals did

Hey Levelcap, It looks to me more like most of the assets are from the newer battlefront 2 even the sounds are all from it. I made a mod for foxhole using the same assets and sounds because you can rip all of the content from the frosty mod maker. This isnt a bad thing but it sure is a testament to how good those assets are can be! Though who knows this is just all hypothetical and you might be thinking correctly in saying the assets rival EA's lol Maybe the more gritty textures and materials on the models make them look better. Kinda like the Andor effect. SWBF2 definitely has this very shiny and clean look to it by comparison.

Would like to point out that almost all assets in this mod look like they were ripped from other games. From BF2 2005: Tatooine map (mos eisley) Utapau map Bf2 (2017): Most weapon models Clone models (With slight retexturing) Sounds Vehicle models The "Lead Dev" on Saga was apart of the GC team for 4 months. He never started the GC project, nor was he a founding member of the modding team, there is reason to believe there is also old unused GC assets at use in this Saga mod.

I did start the GC project, I have the initial starting files if you'd like to see them. There are other developers who have worked on GC who can also confirm this. The internal file names are named after ANE, which was the previous name of GC.

Disney have never actively shutdown Star Wars fan works, especially in the case of Video Games. Much like Galactic Contention, Star Wars Sagas uses assets from EA's battlefront and GC has been around for years. I would say it isn't Disney you have to really worry about, but EA, however EA no longer holds exclusivity rights anymore to make Star Wars games anymore, Only LucasFilm Games call the shots now.

I don't think they are worried about losing players because of downtimes, has been good for the last 5 years. It's just that the SAGA creators are claiming to have made the GC mod too which is false. The Saga dev created a mod named ANE which was before GC and that mod had all type of ripped assets in it, all of then have been filitered and yet they seem to continue and critizice that GC uses ripped assets which is not true while SAGA them selfs pretty much only relies on ripped assets which is kinda double moral

ANE when I was the lead developer, never had any ripped assets because OWI told us that if we used ripped assets we would be taken off the workshop and they actively looked through our files. There is evidence of ripped assets being in use now, I need to make some sort of video about these kind of things because obviously there is constant misinformation being spread around on the GC community in which I do not want reaching our new community.

​@@jayvon- The same steam workshop is not true, I remember needing to re-download on another steam page when Galactic Contention released because ANE was 2019-2020 era and GC steamworkshop has been uploaded in 2021. Many assets are self created by the GC devs, espicially clone models, droid models and all the weapons in that matter. On the discord the GC devs have said multiple time that most of the map assets are from the UE marketplace, since GC and OWI have good ties I don't think the GC devs would be "dumb" enough to continue using ripped assets which have been used in ANE which I do remember. Pretty sure they bought B2 models and it turned out they were ripped from battlefront and removed. Can you provide proof for any ripped assets? Because I can't find any Info on that. I have only seen multiple insurgency sandstorm SAGA devs confirming that they use ripped assets
