Hey! This might be a silly question but I looked at the schematic that’s uploaded on your GitHub for muscle bioamp patchy and I can understand that inaIN+ and inaIN- refer to the inputs from the detection electrodes and ampRef the input from the reference electrode. However, at the power supply part ampRef is the output of an amplifier which means it has a set value, how can ampRef be both the electrode input and amplifier output?
@UpsideDownLabs4 ай бұрын
Hey, that electrode is actually vcc/2 voltage output that sets a base voltage for the analog circuit and the human body. It's usually called bias electrode or ground for these type of analog circuits and acts similar to how digital ground works for your digital circuits.

@@UpsideDownLabs Also sorry for asking again but I’m using arduino zero for measurements which has 3.3V tolerant I/O pins is it alright if I use a voltage divider with a 1kOhm and 2kOhm resistors to step down the analog signal voltage before feeding it to the adc? Would the voltage divider reduce the accuracy of the samples significantly and are those values good enough or should I use 10kOhm and 20 kOhm for example?

Can we control this same game by voice commands Such as : Fast Slow stop Break
@sto700Ай бұрын
In this video, you put only 2 bio sensors onto your forehad but for eeg you can put a lot more . As for 10-20 system, you can put up to 21 electrodes and for High-density EEG systems, you can include up to 128 -256 electrodes for more detailed spatial resolution. In such case, what should i buy along with your neuroscience DIY kit if i want to have more electrodes for better analysis? I majored in cs and math and unfortunately i have no experience with such things, please tell me what i need along your kit and exact products i need to buy and how i can connect them. Much appreciated!

In the video we are recording single channel EEG using BioAmp EXG Pill. It is primarily for students and researchers who want to get started in the field of neuroscience by making amazing projects like the one in this video. Yes there are lots of high density EEG systems available in the market but the major issue is that they cost thousands of US dollars (Lakhs of rupees in terms of Indian currency). This makes it difficult for students to afford the EEG system and explore this field. We want to make neuroscience affordable and accessible to all with our kits. You can send us your project proposal on contact@upsidedownlabs.tech with the requirements on minimum number of channels required and electrode placements as per 10-20 international system for recording EEG and we will get back to you asap.

Can we control car in Forward-Backward-Left-Right direction?
@UpsideDownLabs4 ай бұрын
yes that can be possible but in that scenario you will have to take a different trigger to control left and right directions.

It will be better if you start with simple projects, learn along the way and then move towards complex projects. Particularly for EEG you can try the following projects one by one: 1. Recording EEG from prefrontal cortex: www.instructables.com/Recording-EEG-From-Pre-Frontal-Cortex-of-Brain-Usi/ 2. Recording EEG from visual cortex: www.instructables.com/Recording-EEG-From-Visual-Cortex-of-Brain-Using-Bi/ 3. Playing video games using brainwaves: www.instructables.com/Controlling-Video-Game-Using-Brainwaves-EEG/ Once you are familiar with these projects then you can try to add more features into them. Another way would be to start with the biopotential signals that are comparatively easy to deal with like controlling video games using EMG or EOG and then move towards doing projects with EEG. Anyway we are coming to Marwadi University for a 1 day workshop as soon as the flood situation gets better. So we can probably meet there as well to have more discussion on it. You can ping us by emailing on contact@upsidedownlabs.tech and we will keep in touch.

HI, I have 5 bioamp exg pill, I need to know how much is the sampling rate of the module "bioamp exg pill" when we talk about EEG and why it varies in terms of EEG, EMG and ECG? PLSSSSSSSSS GREETINGS FROM BOLIVIA!!!
@UpsideDownLabs4 ай бұрын
Hi, The sampling rate depends on the microcontroller development board you are using. For example, the sampling rate for Arduino Uno R3 is 250 by default but it can be changed in the code as well.

That would not be possible to with DIY Neuroscience Kit. The main aim of this kit is to provide an affordable tool to a user to get them started so that they can explore the field of neuroscience. What you are talking about is a "thought to text experiment". For that you need a highly dense multi channel EEG acquisition system and on top of that you need very efficient AI models. We recommend you to start with simple projects, learn along the way and then move towards complex projects. Particularly for EEG you can try the following projects one by one: 1. Recording EEG from prefrontal cortex: www.instructables.com/Recording-EEG-From-Pre-Frontal-Cortex-of-Brain-Usi/ 2. I can show you my result what i am having. For better understanding . Reply me when possible, i myself will delete the comment. I also understand this comment is bad, Sorry
@UpsideDownLabs2 ай бұрын
Hey Asad, We totally understand and there is no need to delete this comment :) Yes the accuracy is not that great as it totally depends on the sample EEG data used to train the model. This was a college project by Umang which he made in 4th year of this engineering and with this video we wanted to showcase the possibilities of using our brainwaves to control devices (in this video controlling a car in the laptop). You need to make sure of the following in order to record good quality EEG signals which will further be used to train model. 1. The sample data provided is very limited as Umang only recorded his data to train the model so it is always better to record your EEG data first and then train the model accordingly 2. Sit 5 meters away from any AC appliances to minimize 50Hz noise interference in the signals 3. Only use laptop and do not plug your charger to the laptop while recoding the EEG signals 4. Use skin preparation gel to clean the skin surface before placing the electrodes to clean the dirt from skin wipe with it either with an alcohol swab or wet wipes. We have already started working on another game where you can control a ball in the laptop by focusing on it. The best part is that it is just a python script and there is not need to train the model in order to start playing the game. The complete video will be out soon.
