I completely agree with you!! That last episode could’ve been so much more imo. I remember reading when mal died in the book and everything was so dramatic but in the best way. I wish Alina had gotten her gray hair. Your video was incredibly beautiful!!

that was so great, and I agree with what you said about the atmosphere, and I wish they did it like that, but I suppose having included the crows with some humor here and there made that difficult. however, you captured it beautifully in this. I also didn't quite love the cast for alina, it really doesn't remind me of book alina at all, but this one is much closer to the one I pictured in my head while reading. loved it.

шикарное видео, анечка очаровательна ❤️ согласна с описанием на 100%. мне очень понравилась интерпретация дарклинга от бена, да и сам сериал тоже, но да. не хватило какой-то мрачности, загадочности, и имхо вороны там не к селу не к месту (вообще их не особо люблю). и для меня сами книги не очень блистали какой-то особой атмосферой, особенно с этими странными фамилиями и смешением славянской культуры от бардуго, но в сериале это вообще увязло из-за ненужной комедии. барнс всё ещё шикарен tho, жду не дождусь когда он всем там устроит напоследок, если уж адекватного сторилайна для него нам и от сериала не ожидать. а видео просто изумительное, повторюсь💞

Спасибо) Да, меня вообще подбешивает😅 каверканье имен и фамилий - режет слух) если уж брать чужую культуру за основу, то делать это хорошо и достоверно) Они могли взять столько отсылок к черной магии и вообще мрачности славянской культуры - это было бы пугающе красиво) вороны мне зашли, было не так уныло, актёры, кстати, отлично вписались в свои роли! За это 5 с плюсом, но, их тоже можно было сделать более гранж и более крутыми что ли, мне агрессии и экшена не хватило. А так в целом это сказка в стиле Дисней, а хотелось бы чего-нибудь помрачнее, тем более тема располагает.

omg I have the same thoughts about s&b, even though I love it I would like to see it with a darker aesthetic and more mature dialogues, idk but for exapmle when there is a scene where Alina runs away from the palace, we only see her leaving without even crying and then the scene is comedic because of crows, where’s the angst? anyway, again perfect vid

Totally agree with you! I crave some more dark Russian aesthetics because the books were inspired by it. And being Russian myself I see the potential they lost with it. It came out too light and simple for my personal taste. The only thing I fully enjoyed was the Darkling curse scenes (black magic and stuff) and the story behind the fold.

@@weronikaalw1393 yeah, exactly! I would love to see Slavic culture and aesthetics (because there are not so many interpretations of it in the movies) and I found myself thinking that fan videos are more accurate to the books and it only shows that we have a lot of talented people here on youtube)

I really do loved this the only thing that is not really inclusive is the fact that it would mean that alina is not part shu since anya clearly isn't meant to be white. And I totally agree for the vibe, they did perfect for the crows side but the whole grisha/royalty side wasn't dark enough.

меня изначально очень разочаровал выбор актрисы на роль. возможно, подобный эффект возымело большое количество артов, которые наводняли сеть до выхода сериала, но я всегда видела алину европейкой, а не азиаткой. спасибо за видео. раньше я представляла на её месте аманду сейфрид, но теперь у меня появилась новая фаворитка. аня просто великолепна. думаю, что это именно та заклинательница солнца, которую мы все заслуживали, но по итогу так и не получили.

I like Jessie Mei Li (unlike Ben Barnes, who did not get into the character at all), but Anya Taylor-Joy was my Alina before the series came out, so I share this role for both of them. Absolutely agree about the atmosphere! Fan videos are more deeply and have dark & light beauty from the books. Many, after the release of the series, preferred the adaptation to the books, but I personally continue to idolize the books, FOR THEY ARE WONDERFUL! And the Darkling will be better there *crying*.

Yeah, I actually think that too about Ben Barnes, but probably the script and directors wanted Darkling that way...which I don't like btw. Still he did nice in flashbacks and fold thing. As I sad before it looked more like Disney movie for children (not even teens) and I wished for something more serious and dark?
