Hi Irene what was your starting team on Trials of Mana? I tried the demo and my main character was the red haired guy but he seemed a bit slow and clunky when running. I couldn't seem to to change him so I just wondered if the other characters were the same, and which characters you recommend? TIA

I used to have soo many PC and console games i was jumping all the time. At some point it just started causing anxiety b/c i'd have days that I wouldn't know what i'd want to play. Since then i still game jump but i uninstalled down to maybe 3-5 games to choose from. That way I have WAY less to choose from. That's just a me thing but it's definitely made things easier and i'm finding the need to jump less and if i ever want to install another game i choose the game i play the least and uninstall that one to keep it to my limit.

I'm still leaning towards physical games since I can sell them if I didn't like it or when I'm done with it, which means I can get back some money to buy more games. Digital games are stuck with you forever whether you loved it or hated it. I do have some digital games but only for games that don't have physical cartridges.

I suggest to everyone, even those who just bought a switch...buy a BIG sd card. As Ircha says: "the bigger the better" and that's soooo true. Even if you don't have many games now sometime in the future you'll need more space. Trust me 😏

There's a reason so many games were sold to places like gamestop without cases and places like that have to make their own cases for that reason too. No shame to actual collections haha. I even got the hardcopy of SoS cause of the plush and box.

I’ll keep my physical games and cherish them for a long time so it’s not a waste of plastic there since they won’t just be thrown away after a few uses. I know most people don’t give a crap about keeping it for a long time though, so it’s definitely a plus in that regard for reducing plastic waste if they buy digitally instead. The key here for me again is there should just be options for people who prefer physical and people who prefer digital. They can peacefully coexist :)

I've got like 95% digital games for my Switch. It's so convenient on a portable system not having to carry around cartridges. Also the gold points you get for e-shop purchases makes it even more worth it. The only downside really is you can't sell the game if you don't like it.. On my PS4 and PS5 I tend to buy physical games though

Physical vs Digital, the eternal debate, but I think there is room for both in modern gaming; want to play a game but unsure if you want to keep it forever? buy physical and trade it after you beat it. Must have game on a platform? get it digital and it will always be ready to play.

Important thing to note regarding TOM is that it's a remake of a game that was NOT released outside of japan. So even with its simplicity it's good for a game that was never released here.

I also love digital games and not needing to switch carts, I have a 1TB card in my switch lite and a 400 GB in my original switch. However I do have concerns about being able to play the games in the future, the PS Vita store is closing this summer and although you will be able to continue to download games, there will come a time when that stops altogether. Sony is heading that way now, how long until Nintendo does the same. Buying digital sometimes feel like a several year rental rather than actual ownership of your games. I am not sure how I feel about that 🙄🤔 Once again a great video and I love your choice of games, the mana games are fantastic despite their age, they have an old school charm about them 😍. The sad truth is that I hate changing game cards. I have Dragon Quest Builders 2 physical and haven't finished playing it even though I loved it, because I'm too lazy to change out Ring Fit from my Switch instead lol 😣 Recently got a big SD card as a gift so I'm waiting for my few physical games to go on sale so I can buy them digital. I would never be able to switch to digital. With a physical copy of a game you own it until you decide to part with it. With digital, you "own" it only for as long as they support the system/platform that allows you to access it. Can't deny the conveniences of digital though. Pros and cons to each.

There are exceptions but the majority require a download or updates. So yay. We're buying the disc and a license to half of the product on the disc. @@JetpacksWasYes2 They undoubtedly do. DLC and the ability to patch a game later down the road haven't really done us any favors either. With the former, they charge consumers extra for content that in some cases existed prior to the release of the "base" game which always begs the question why it couldn't have been included to begin with. The "official" reason often if not always being some rehearsed nonsense while consumers of course know it is an obvious money grab. With the latter, they can push out an unfinished game to capitalize on peak periods (Black Friday through Christmas should come to mind) and then finish it at their leisure if at all. Nowadays, gaming has become an exercise in how much you are willing to tolerate and unfortunately for me, my addiction is fierce.

I hate physical games. I hate having to switch them out every time I want to play a game (I’m a game-jumper, too). You don’t have to worry about cartridges getting lost, broken, or stolen. I love whacking things too. You are totally right about having a large SD card. I started with 128gb but that filled fast. I now have a 400gb. I like to buy physical games if I think I will love the game. I buy digital if it’s on sale in shop or if it doesn’t have a physical copy. I live in a very small apartment and don’t have much room to store them all. I often like to play multiple games in one sitting. Your sense of humor always makes viewing your videos fun. if you love doing so many things, you love creating your character, you like farming, you like crafting, you like rpg, have your own place, playing online, you will definitely... definitely become addicted to Final Fantasy 14 Realm Reborn Online. Is Definetly a guilty pleasure to me because a friend actually bought it for me because he knew i was never gonna buy it. I wasn't really into the subscription thing and not a fan of mmo but ever since i tried it and find the patience to at least get to heavensward expansion... Ircha, the game probably became the best game I have ever played in my life. To be honest you don't really have to get into the story that much in the beginning because is just too much boring stuff sometimes but as you move forward and learn all the surprising things you can do in the game, you will become addicted. It has the best crafting system i ever played, the best gathering collective system i ever played, Fishing, lots lots lots of quest, DUNGEONS and everything feels like real life around you a lot. If you gonna get into it, I recommend not revealing your server location and name because you might end up with lot of freaks following you in the game wanting to help you but also stalk you. You should have friends you can trust in the game to have the best experience, cause it is a tremendous experience. Byee✌️

I live in the rural US and have awful Internet. There are a lot of other Americans who also have Internet issues, to the point where having a digital game library is pretty much impossible. It’s great that some people can have digital but it really isn’t an option for lots of people. As for Olive Town, I returned my preordered copy (Something you can’t do with digital btw). I refuse to deal with games that lag that bad, especially one that is a Switch exclusive. I may pick it up again later IF devs fix performance issues.

When it comes to online stores shutting down not sure how that works but they keep the server for people who bought games can redownload games back whenever but even tho it still a sketchy area if they decide one day to shut that down. Which is why is good to have a big sdcard to keep the games.

One more mention: There is a game that smashed its kickstarter goals that is coming to both Switch and other consoles called Skyclimbers. It is a combination of rpg, pet taming, city building, and huge scale exploration and it looks like a dream game. Thought you might want to check it out. Something to look forward to.

Be sure to pick up Collection of Mana if you enjoyed Trials of Mana, it has the original 3 Seiken Densetsu games. The first one (Final Fantasy Legend) can be skipped, it's not very long though. Secret of Mana and Trials of Mana are both fantastic even in their old 2D graphics, and the nice thing about the originals is they have co-op, so you can play with friends. Also I highly highly recommend getting the Legend of Mana remaster for Switch that comes out in June, it is one of my favorite RPGs from the PS1 era and it looks gorgeous, and is so much fun to play!

In terms of digital I have to agree with you @irchagaming because at least 95% of the games I played are digital except those special to me or I feel a really good connection to a game. An advantage with digital is it’s always right there ready to be played wherever you are playing it at.

With the announcement by Sony that they will be closing 3 stores this year it’s a reminder that you never own digital games, only a license to play it, and licenses DO expire. Sure, digital is convenient if you’re into jumping from game to game, but just be aware that your access WILL be taken away from you at some point in the future.

Trials of mana has to be one of my favorite PS4 demos. From the gameplay, the music, the atmosphere, the ridiculous hair, it’s 💋 I hope Lexar makes cards compatible with the PSP. the face mask, you forgot to mention the "line" in the design is for a fill-in-the-blank. So that way if the buyer finds a silly word that is "a weird name" they can write it on the mask :) I hope they fix that lag/frame rate drop in the game. I know I can tolerate that in games if it is something that happens randomly and is not long, like it is a spike and goes back to normal, but the way you were showing it in your footage, it looks like it was really lengthy with the frame rate. Hope that there is a patch soon that can fix the problem. Trials of Mana was a lot of fun to watch you play and is certainly making me want to try it. Looking forward to seeing more discord streams with you playing it. You do love your vibrant colors in games. You're not the last person to play that game, I promise.

Trials of Mana is amazing. I played through Trials of Mana on the Collection of Mana just before playing the remake, so it was pretty remarkable how true the 3D version is to the 2D version. Ircha, you are right, the combat is fun and the visuals are eye candy. Just wait until you get to the sanctuary of Mana. The soundtrack is amazing as well. Now, I think I prefer the remake over the original because of the improved combat.

Hallooooo! I've shelved SOS Olive town for now. I'm going to hope they update the dialog some more, and add some stuff and improve performance some more. I broke down and bought a refurbished 2ds and I'm really enjoying SOS trio of towns, which I never got the chance to play. Kingdoms of Amalur was another surprise for me- very good. Trials of Mana is pretty damn good, I agree. Lately I've been buying stuff 99.9% digital, it's just so convenient.

I love collecting physical, but also realized that even with consoles, it seems like we're becoming increasingly dependent on downloads for updates any bug fixes anyway, so I realize future proofing my collection probably won't be perfect, and in the case of consoles like PS4, you have to put the entire game on your hard drive so it's not like you're saving space anymore. At least unlike the Wii shop, purchases are attached to your account and not your console, so as long as the store is still around, you can re-download anything...for now...

Dude, Trials of Mana is really good. I liked it a LOT better than Dragon Quest XI. I played Trials of Mana on hard mode and the combat is great on that setting

The biggest reason i won’t do digital usually is because I’ve seen what happens with technology. Crazy things happen. I’d rather have it to where I can have a disc that I can pop back in.

Then again, if there is a fire...😂 You lose all physical games, you don't when they're digital. Ok, there are pros and cons to both options 😅👍

I've just discovered your channel, I loved your reviews. I have a question for you, I'm a casual gamer with not so much time to play (I forgot hard mechanics because the lack of continuity in playing) so my question is wich game is the best for a player like me. Shining Resonance, Atelier Ryza or Atelier Ryza 2 (all on N Switch) (Those games caught my attention). Or if you have any other reccomendation (I like rpg kinda games with good story and simple mechanics - because I forgot the gameplay i.e. I forget how to play God Eater 3)

Out of those four, Shining Resonance is easiest maybe 😊👍 but Ryza 1 and 2 are superb games!

Ironically, I finished my playthrough of Trials of Mana around the time you put out that KZbin story video about playing it! Really enjoyed it and glad you are too. :) As for digital vs physical, digital is definitely convenient, but I still love having a physical collection. I always worry about losing data with digital so that's partly why.

I was absolutely anti digital until my 128G card and internal space filled up on my Switch...DANG YOU ESHOP ! Now I just purchased my first 256G card ...Borderlands Legendary is on my shopping list , same as Crisis series , Resident Evil 4,5,6 &Revelation...Doom Eternal .... Ninja Gaiden Collection .... UGH the list goes on ..and watching Eshop monthly is becoming an addiction. BUT dang they have great deals sometimes ya can't pass on.

5:01 Except if you have no access to an Wifi and some of your Game Data is corrupt. Then you can't play your digital games at all.

You dont need wife to play the games on your primary switch, unless game needs internet to run which most of mine dont

Right there with you on game jumping, I usually cycle through about 3-4 games at a time 😅 probably will hold off on Olive Town for a bit, at least until I play more of Mineral Town; I haven’t played Trials of Mana so you’re definitely not the last person to play it lol will be adding it to my list based off your review!

I find that if I use the second zoom in on Pioneers of Olive Town, the lag isn't as bad. I'm still really enjoying the game, but I hope they fix that because it's keeping me from really going all in on customization. Not related, but I know you love Atelier Ryza, and both the regular and the digital deluxe edition are on sale right now (the season pass too), and I was wondering if the digital deluxe edition and the season pass are worth it or if just getting the game would be fine.

my framedrops really arent bad at all? i was streaming for a friend who said they were jealous because mine was running so much better than theirs, even at equivalent points of the game and with similar amounts of stuff. usually when i walk onto my farm i get some momentary drops and then it runs fine until i leave and come back. my friend was even getting lag during festivals?? so i really dont know what the deal is. but im not really having problems with it (ive spent well over 100 hours playing)
