yup, and i'd like to believe Frontman would have actually helped to stop the squid game if Gi Hun was consistent in his resolve, at least consistent enough to change Frontman's mind, that people and society have changed, but Gi Hun proved to Frontman that Gi Hun can be just like any of the executives running the game, doing things (from his own perspective) for the greater good, so he betrays the players and goes back to being the Frontman. Because in his mind, he too, is doing things for the greater good.

456 or Gi Hun lost his good intention here... and 001 aka the frontman proves it. If he want everyone to survive, his best shot was just stick with voting, defend the X to keep casualty at minimum then win vote and go home. As much as despicable the game maker is they never actually broke any rule, they also more lenient with the vote compared to the 1st game. (Keep in mind everyone on 1st game including Gi Hun himself were sent home safely after the vote, until they return to the game by their own choice. So Gi Hun know 100% they are going back home safely if win the vote) Gi Hun not only tell his plan to just few people he not even bothered to warn the other X to defend themselves, they literally got killed while sleeping, and he is the one made this plan knowing what will happen next, then he watches they all died in right front of him. He didn't even bother to tell about the fork that can be used as weapon and the glass bottle, it is hinted as he stare at it he know it's meant to use as weapon. As ridiculous as it sounds I think he did not use or say anything about it because he simply despise "the game" and wont play it. This is the moment it's not about saving anyone anymore for Gi Hun, it's for revenge to the game itself. He choose not to kill or punish the obvious greedy murderers on O team simply because he doesn't want to be in the same level as "the game maker" so yeah, its 100% revenge, not saving or kind or anything just pure hate towards the game.

​@@MrBronze15Actually, it's not pure hatred that he went for the higher ups, he took an opportunity. It was the only time that they could take the weaponry of the guards at that point. But the real reason is literally explained in the show itself. He knew that if he didn't go after the game makers, and if they were to win the vote, there was a high chance that everyone would just return to the game willingly, which leads to them dying. Furthermore, he knew that he didn't end it here, there will be future games to come. He knows that no one else can lead the players to stop the game makers from making more games and continue the cycle of deaths, because he was the only one who refused the money, if it were someone else, it's either they keep the money and go home knowing that there will be a next game, or they are too afraid and incapable of doing what Gi-Hun did here. The only mistake here that can be argued was that he got too desperate in this situation and risked the lives of other people, but the reasoning was valid. Sure he hated the game, but he had more hate on the fact that if it doesn't end here, countless more people like him will end up dying, he is the only one with prior knowledge of the game, and the only one willing to go back and help others and end it. Heck, I bet that if he wins this game too, he'll come back again to fight, though he could be stopped by the front man from returning.

Min-su isn't the only one to blame for her death, so is Gi-hun. The reason Se-mi got cornered to begin with was because Gi-hun would rather let his own allies die than attack the Os first. Maybe Min-su could have saved her but Gi-hun definitely could have prevented this if he had chosen to protect the Xs.

I think this is more realistic than not and shows how poor democracy can be. This show shows a lot of things I feel aren’t talked about enough. 1. How greed influences peoples actions in times of desperation. These people are choosing to stay in the game because of their desperation from their debts. They feel the game is the only way they will be able to pay off the debts so they are willing to do whatever it takes to win. 2. It shows democracy isn’t always best. Majority vote is good for some things but one thing that has to be realized is that it isn’t always best for humanity and it is always going to fuck over some people. Young-mi was crying to go home because she knew continuing to play meant certain death. She and others got condemned because people did what they felt was best for them and not the majority.

This scene made me think hard. All the characters that we saw in season 1 are similar to season 2: Deok-su and Top (Thanos). They are both competitive players, but both died from overconfidence/arrogance. Sang-woo and the 011 sniper. They place logic first, but are ultimately overcome by deep emotion Abdul and the Transgender player 120. They are both physically strong, but one was betrayed. The other redeemed herself and found comfort fitting in, as Abdul should’ve been with Sang woo, but the game they faced was a tragic one Han-mi-nyeo and Min-su. Both have insecurities as one looks wrinkly and old but seeks loyalty from strong men like deok su, while the other struggles entirely. Their aspects of insecurity are interestingly similar but are open to change. Gi hun and the Front man are similar too. As I saw from this scene and comments below, Gi hun has been known to act as a “VIP”. In season 1, he placed a bet with il-nam on his bearing death instead of simply helping him, relying on “others”. As from this scene, we see him take that sacrifice again, a small sacrifice for the greater good. This could hint that he may ultimately become the villain at the end of season 3, as there is no stopping the game. These characteristics are what we also see in real life too. Some are arrogant to get what they want so they steal, murder or torture people to survive or just because it’s their job, hobby or desperate to earn money. Some use logical steps to handle money, but may leave no room for emotions to have an enjoyable life, especially when you have too much or too little of it. Some have talents, physically or mentally, but don’t get their recognition or well-paid jobs. Then there’s insecurity. Some are just lost with what to do with their lives, or feel the need to get a job because society has forced us to work like machines. And that’s reality. Especially when you are fighting for your life in a horrifying game, it shows how easily people transform. It reveals their true colours and tests whether their stick to their morals, or whether they break them. Logic and emotion are polar opposites but are still combined with money. Just as how the world changes, we change too. “We are all responsible for each other”, a sentence taken from “An inspector calls”, which also explores capitalism as well.
