I am confused about the fact, that they can talk with each other openly at night. Just by the amount of chatting that Ben did, it was pretty much impossible to be visited by the ST at night. Sure some of them switch between muted and unmuted regularly, but I just don't get why you would want that to be there at all. Guess they are all so pro in BOTC, that they have lots of mental capacity left to fake being available / busy even during night? And if they can talk, should sharing any info be at least forbidden? I really don't understand it *~*

Its really just to simulate a real life BOTC game as much as possible. Cuz in real life botc (at least in our games), the storyteller doesnt verbally tell the info to people and players just normally speak nonsense in the night because we dont want a silent night phase. I understand the confusion but this app does have a way for the storyteller to give the info without going into a private chat with them....

I understand that they’re trying to simulate an in person game, but I don’t like the change either. Usually the night phase is a time for planning, jokes, or honestly for viewing experience, skipping. Now I have to sit through conversation that miiiiight be connected, and it feels kinda like there is something missing since they’re just chatting without any gameplay happening. It makes it hard for me to pay attention. TO BE FAIR I have a terrible attention span (ADHD)

Like the others have said, this is what night phases look like in real life games. The rule is never to discuss what's happening in the night during the night phase. But everything else is okay, at your own risk. If the good team continue discussing strategy at night, they run the risk of the evil team just foiling those plans. Like in real life games, the ST can show the players info cards, so there's no need to take people out for chats with the ST. You can totally skip the night phase if you don't like the conversations, no harm done ;)

​@@Miraxik Ok, I completely forgot, that this game is actually a board game, so this makes so much mroe sense now. I dislike the change from a viewers perspective, since the night chat really is only chit chat most of the time and all of the explaining and stratigising is pretty much gone from it. My feeling was that this here is "pro" mode, where you better know all of the roles, or why someone said something yourself, because Ben will likely not explain anything. As a rather viewer though (I have never played this myself although I am a passionate board game player) the video lost a lot of vital info, but didn't gain much entertainment value for it. Since the players here know each other extremely well, a lot of comments in the chit chat are insider jokes, hints on knowledge that isn't obvious etc. And so I feel rather excluded now through the entire night phase. But you are right, I can simply skip the night phase and see what that feels like. I just miss the beginner-friendly inclusion that happened during the old night phase. Thanks for the inight guys!

@@heiter_bis_pingelig2877 it's a hard balance to strike between Ben chatting to chat about beer and Supernatural during the night phase and taking part in the group's conversations ;) There were a few games that I think Adam ran especially for beginner players/viewers where he explained everything carefully, so everyone could follow what was going on :) I'm sure games like that will still happen from time to time. We also have a bunch of viewers who have been watching us play for almost three years now, so they will be in on the inside jokes ;)

I love watching all the Clocktower, and have been enjoying seeing it on other channels too. I don't think it has come up in a game I've watched before, but what would happen if a Vigormotis killed their Evil Twin minion? Would the power fade since they are dead or would it be an impossible win condition for Good since the minion was Vigor killed or would the evil twin need to be double tapped?

The way I see it, the Evil Twin would be dead, but their ability would still work. There are two parts to the Evil Twin's ability, besides the whole knowing each other thing: while both twins are alive, good can't win, and if the good twin is executed, evil wins. Since the Evil Twin is dead, the good players can still win, but if they execute the good twin, they will lose, i.e. the good twin would also function as a Saint, practically speaking (as long as the dead Evil Twin is not drunk or poisoned).

@@Arrowstorm122 i dont think it would change much to be honest because the last line of the twins ability, Good can't win if you both live. so a dead evil twin even if their power is still active due to the vigormortis, is still dead, meaning good can still win and just not execute the other twin

@@druagamaniac There are, however, ways that evil team can convince players to execute the other twin. Evil Twin pairs are not always honest. Sometimes two evils claim it so that one of them will stay alive the whole game. (I've seen good players bluff it as well, but very rarely.) It's quite strong to have a win con at the ready in general, so I pretty strongly disagree regardless. It'd be like saying Saint isn't powerful for evil because nobody would execute them. Of course there's situations where they would.

@@kyleb8117 sure fine, i dont think i was advocating that and if i was i mistyped, my only point was that to my understanding as one of the twins as dead that even if its a vigor killed evil twin so they'd still have their power, last line states that good cant win if both twins are alive so dead evil twin via vigor still lets good win afaik

@@druagamaniac It's correct that good can still win. I was responding to "I don't think it would change much to be honest". It changes quite a lot. In a normal Evil Twin game, if the Evil Twin dies at night, someone can say "The Demon just killed the good twin at night to make us think we can just leave an evil alive for the rest of the game." and it'd be reasonable. You're also not taking into consideration that evil team is likely covering the missing Outsider in their bluffs to make it not look like a Vigor game. If you don't think it's Vigor and one twin dies at night, are you just going to leave the other alive "just in case", especially when they keep going on about twins and maybe have game solving info? In normal games outside of this situation, there's plenty of ways evil can frame someone and get them executed, and you don't think it'd change much to have a suspicious-looking player be a Saint?
