Personally I found it a bit preachy, felt really forced. I also didn't like how I'm fighting for someone else to take the throne when I went in expecting my character to become king (at least thats what the advertisements made it look like). Gameplay is fun though and I'm probably still gonna get it but just not impressed with the story and characters so far, which sucks because I was so hyped for this.

I played the demo...and wow they didn't joke around when they say this game is celebration of 35th years of atlus game... there's a lot of reference in this game...the gameplay itself is like smt x persona x etrian odyssey..the job system and skill is pretty much like etrian odyssey(even the item name like ariadhne threat is there),the press turn system on recent smt games,persona like visual, artstyle, and calendar system..the music is as usual is really awesome but this time is like opera on fire in a good way lol..man i just can't wait to play the full ver.

I think it's more persona 5 Strikers to hit the enemies outside of battle which I don't like because if you don't get hit during the battle you gain more experience money ect. After the demo I am not quite sure I like it.

@@FreshlySqueezing just think of it as a nice bonus, not something you need to shoot for every combat. And hitting enemies outside of combat is something that's been present in latest Megaten titles, they just made it more engaging - P5 dashing got really boring quickly for example.

I don't mind playing persona 5 strikers if i am playing that game. This is not it I am not expecting it to be. Let me explain properly you get better archetypes you want to test them out because you mix and match. You just found an enemy instantly dies then you go " oh right. i grew the habit of hitting enemies constantly because i am so over leveled." When i honestly do not see the reason not to battle because you gain incentive to gain more experience money mag to unlock the archs if you don't get hit during battle for sake of what time? To breeze through? I feel like this is going to get boring than fun "oh finally a boss fight because I completely forgot about strategy really anything how long it's been."

@@FreshlySqueezing Megaten is the general franchise, it includes both SMT and Persona. Hitting enemies was a thing in Persona too. Insta-killing enemies weaker than you as well - it actually takes away from the tedium, not adds to. If you reach the point a certain encounter is an insta-win, the exp from the battle will be negligable at your current level any way.

​@@arvox1417 I needed around 8 hours to finish the demo granted I was also grinding a little bit and I talked to everyone. The gameplay is ultra fun, is the best Atlus game, gameplay wise. The music and art style and style vibe in general is SPOT ON, is Atlus through and through. The voice acting is also spot on, the whole game is a love letter to the JRPG fantasy genre and the story so far what I have seen is so very well made so complex and I can already tell the theme of the game being anxiety and I am so hyped to play the full game next month! 🔥🤌🏻

The cutscenes, the soundtrack, the gameplay... Everything is just incredible. I love the persona like qualities of it, but giving them a new twist. It feels so familiar, yet different enough to feel fresh. Not being able to change archetypes in battle I really really adore, makes you put more consideration into party composition and kit. The beginning like the first 20 min felt odd. The intro felt like it could have been done better or in a different way, then you get a quick random cutscene where you get attacked while in some cart, then you’re put into a bland desert and it feels very tutorial like. Still I think it will be good I was just surprised to find myself not feeling the intro it’s the first time I’ve felt this way with a game from Atlus.

I'm still on the demo and I'm trying to savor it but by bit until release day, but man I'll probably just binge the demo this whole weekend! Such a good game already. That menu drip tho'! I just can't get the pc version of the demo to work. I'm pretty bummed about it, my computer is pretty good - it runs baulders gate 3 just fine. I've changed a bunch of settings around and I've gotten it better but it's still distracting. I'm not the kind of person who is usually bothered but this time I am - the controller also feels jerky (I've messed with the sensitivity and no luck). I guess I'm going to download the ps5 version of the demo and see if it's better there...

One thing I love about this game is that the side quests actually give social stats, which made me actively search them out. Also like how well they guide but don’t force the player to pick the right class. Take the healer, you get it but is kinda overlaps with the seeker in terms of role, but then you get a side quest to level it up, so you spend the 500 mag to get it on one of your dudes and guess what happens next? Undead dungeon. What are they weak to? Holy and blunt. Who has those? The healer. Great design. My only qualm is that it is still too easy, even on hard mode.

@@Barderino The sidequest dungeon? Sure it has more bite than the Catacombs, but far from the hardest early game Atlus dungeon we've had. Just as they can tell mages are bad news, so can I and abusing the stun mechanic means they rarely get an attack off. Personally, trying to get Pre-full moon of the first section of Tartarus in P3FES is harder (more due to rng, but still).

That's one thing Xbox is good for - if you buy this on Xbox you also get access to the PC version with cross progression. And if you have a powerful enough handheld like an ROG Ally, then you basically have a Switch 2 setup

I can confirm frame drops on PS5, I had to check if I was in performance mode or Quality and there is no option. Some portions were running in the 45fps according to the VRR built into my tv

Downloading the Demo on Steam right now. I’m gonna see if it works on the Steam Deck OLED. You mentioned having a portable version that can dock. I have a dock for my deck and xbox controller with a big TV. sometimes it feels just like I’m playing on an Xbox. I can just undock it and take it anywhere whenever I want. I suspect it will work on the Steam Deck given that it runs on the PlayStation 4. I’m not 100% sure I’ll get the game but I love the most recent persona releases…I beat P5R and I’m getting close to done with P3R. I do have them but still haven’t played P4G or SMT 3 and 5 yet. If I feel hooked from the demo and it works on my Steam Deck then I’ll likely get it too and it will be my next Atlus game.

Playing it on Steam deck now. Frame drop at the big world area but the rest is okay and still awesome ( fps 35-55). Hopefully the steam deck will be "Verified" it when the game launches in a few weeks, it certainly will , since the game is playable and running quite good right now, fps only drops in a big map areas, no issues at all. Handheld is the best way to play type of this JRPG game

Gotta get a steam deck! Does exactly what you want. Streaming from your pc to the deck is seamless as well if you’re playing on your network and you let save will sync up between your pc and deck

Would you recommend PC or PS5? PS5 has the advantage of playing on my couch on a bigger screen (55" Oled tv) vs PC which has higher specs and runs on a "better" screen (LG 34" ultrawide curved). I'm gonna play some of the demo on both but I can never decide.

Yeah playing it on hard difficulty on ps5 it's very challenging i needed to reload many times and start mixing up archetypes.. but once figured things out i become more and more comfortable

I loved the demo, I’ve been pretty hyped about this one. Finished persona 5 a couple months ago and discovered this game coming out immediately after and the premise just had me hooked. The demo delivered so far. Love the combat and the story, music it all just fits. I see a lot of complaints about graphics, I didn’t have any issues on my ps5. I honestly love the way the game looks. I don’t expect the craziest graphics from atlus that has never been their thing. Art design though is amazing. So stoked for 10/11
