And Dirk had Steve Nash and a lot more help on those teams to take away from his stats, but he still got superior stats to Garnet, who had less help and the team focused on him getting those stats. Dirk Also won a championship with a bunch of roll players and washed up old men like 37 year old Jason kidd. No other all star help to win his ring, but KG had to get a super team to get his ring. You Pistons argument is one and facing them in the playoffs doesn't exclude the fact that the weakest teams were in the East which he got to face more often than in the East. Big difference going against several good teams multiple times versus only two games in a regular season. For example Shaq and Kobe's had bigger obstacles getting to the 2000 NBA finals than the Pacers but you'll see better records in the East versus the 2006 Lebron season you are talking about. Lebron made it and that is great for him but that doesn't change the fact of the conference he was in that isn't something he could control. So here is a little reminder of that 2006 season showing the 8 playoff teams for each conference. Also it is like the fact that Lebron is currently 4th place in total missed shots in NBA history: 13,282 and that he will probably soon pass Kobe at 14,481. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, LeBron's 2007 run is so overrated. Overrated does not mean bad before anyone throws a tantrum. I'm sure his cult will regardless. The Pistons were still good but the difference with not having Ben Wallace anchor the defense anymore was significantly noticeable and for the worse for the Pistons. LeBron also played terrible in the Finals that year and gets way too much of a pass for it. The Cavs also had a top 5 defense that year. LeBron only carried their offense. Lastly, if the Cavs were in the West, they only would've been good enough to be the 6th seed, which would've had them facing the team that swept them in the Finals in the 1st round. All that said though, LeBron did not get enough help, that is also true, but he still does get too much credit for this with all these things considered.

yeah but he was 22 and young, and people do want to glorify him a lot. The PIstons may not have been as good but they were still great. Lebron also played defense, not saying he was some dpoy but he did contribute on both ends. And his later seasons were worse, like his MVP years in his first stint were totally wasted, so I think that's the main point. Not throwing a tantrum tho, just tryna lay out my points

He couldn't even win one game in that series. I know the Pistons were still a very good team even after Ben Wallace left but the difference between having him vs not having him was very noticeable. On defense, that was a total team effort that the Cavs had to be a top 5 defense so the carry job does get seriously over exaggerated. I don't think you're wrong with your points, I just think LeBron gets way more credit than he actually deserves for that. Was it impressive at all that he got that team to the Finals? Yes but not nearly as impressive as people make it out to be.

Id put Wilt Chamberlain on this list too! he had to carry the Philadelphia warriors to the playoffs where they always lost to boston, then the warriors moved to San Francisco and sucked. than he finaly got traded to the Philadelphia 76’s which were actually a great team with a great coach and had a record season of 68wins and beat boston and won the championship that year, then wilt went to the lakers an old team that always lost to boston in the 60s but with jerry west he won his second championship.

2019, LeBron literally gave up on the team when they couldn't get AD. They weren't a championship team but they should've made the playoffs that year. LeBron's 2018 Finals run was more impressive than 2007 by a landslide but he also did quit in overtime of game 1 of that Finals. Ok your teammate messed up but you still have another 5 minutes to play. I don't care if you're heavy underdogs, don't take losing for an answer! LeBron also choked in game 3 and quit in game 4.

I am so glad that you mentioned Mitch 'Rock' Richmond. I disagree about LeBron, but Mitch to me is the ultimate example of great player, bad teams. He was the 2nd-best two-guard of the 90s behind Jordan, who had all the support and all of the press. The Kings were abysmal, but at least Rock eventually won a ring as a bench player with the Lakers and made the hall. I still have a copy of NBA 97 for the Mega Drive, which has Richmond on the cover and is signed by him.
