Hearing him slip in to Rune-Din vs Run-Din is also amusing because its the old way the name was written. Knower of Runes, which I think means only guy in the village who can read.

Not that Dan apparently needs it, since he managed to A-rank both dives this episode, but the triangle button unleashes a special attack (that varies from dive to dive) once you collect the orb to enable it - until it runs out of charges. It would probably have been ideal for the large clouds of balloons that Sora only hit a few of on the way through.

ooh now I get it! the flashbacks! they can trigger for both sora and riku. I bet you could also have triggered the one about sleeping worlds if riku talked to gimini first. that's why they are a separate thing and not part of the cutscene

We give all the boys Dream Eaters to take care of. That'll teach them to be responsible. And then maybe Kingdom Hearts can invent Pokemon after a while.

(Also, I wish it was easier to play silly theme mages like that in D&D. I've thought about playing a hand mage, but there are only a handful of hand spells in the whole friggin' PHB. Pun not intended, but it is appreciated.) 7:45: Wait, why didn't Pinocchio's nose grow there? 24:40: I'm not sure which is weirder-that Riku instantly recognizes an old man I'm pretty sure he's never seen before, or that _that's_ how he realizes he's inside a giant whale.

Commenting on the D&D thing - focus on spells with somatic components ( other than the actual hand spells, of course ), and then flavor everything as using very judicious hand movements and having hand shaped attacks. Ray of frost? Bolt of frost coming from a spectral hand over your head. Fireball? The bead explodes into a giant fiery fist. Flavor can fill in the gaps of the mechanics for sure. :) Also that sounds like an absurdly fun gimmick, and I hope you have fun with it!

@@timothymclean thematically, they all have their own things. Bard's are technically the only ones who can use something that isn't an arcane focus ( and thus easier to conceal or replace) as well as they have a huge emphasis on socially passable spells and charms. Plus Jack of all Trades. To focus only on what their magic can do discredits a lot of what they are. 2. I'm not saying it's a perfect solution, but flavor is a good part of the fun in my opinion. It's what can make one evocation wizard different from the next. Both cast fireball, but one might be the stately court mage where the other is a gallant hero casting it as the opening shot of a fight, and that's not counting the kind of gremlin mage that just cackles all day.

If I want to play someone who makes magic by singing, I want one whose mechanics support the idea of a magician-musician, which the bard does but the wizard doesn't. Similarly, if I want to play a hand-mage, I want to use spells whose mechanics support the idea of hand magic, which the _Bigby's hand_ line does but _fireball_ doesn't. 2. There are absolutely ways that flavor can enhance a character. This is not one of them, at least not one that works well.

@@timothymclean That's fair, and this may all be an agree-to-disagree situation. I see your problem, and while I would be content with a flavor-based solution, that's not going to be a catch-all. If you're not tied to being a mage, you could go for Arcane Trickster, who has mechanics built around using Mage Hand in a unique way. But yes, hand-themed spells are very lacking in D&D, and just goof and goof-adjacent spells in general seem to be. Which makes sense, most spells are meant to uphold the more serious fantasy storytelling aspect of D&D. If all else fails, there's always homebrew.

Someone already said this but I'll comment again for visibility, I hope you are using the spirit board! It's really really useful, especially in Proud Mode you'll need every spell and attack and buff you can get!

One thing I won't understand about Kingdom Hearts is why they give you the world keyblade when you finish the story and not when you enter. The rest of the outfits (when applicable) are given when you get in the world, and there's no lingering results coming from there. Even in a "professional" standpoint, the alleged work would be to avoid telling the people of the worlds that other ones exist, so having a Keyblade from another world is yet another nail to the coffin of a secret hero league, which is what the Keyblade wielders and King Mickey's henchmen (2 of the three King's Fools) should be doing.

So this world was originally supposed to be in 358/2 Days and it's such a shame that it wasn't. The game could have used some fresh worlds. It would have been set after the movie with a human Pinocchio, Honest John and Gideon would have been the villians, and Monstro seems to be absent, the setting being the main village. I quite like what they do in DDD, particularly with Riku, but I do wonder what could have been.

I am surprised they didn't just name the world Pleasure Island like in the film. I suppose the main village Pinocchio is from (even though it's offscreen) isn't a part of the island proper, so they are taking the full world into account. I do like the idea of having "Paese dei Balocchi" as the world name for the English version, though. I mean, we just had "La Cite des Cloches" not too long ago.

Disney was not very accurate to the fullest extent regarding the original tale as I'm told (I'm italian and live pretty near where Collodi (Pinocchio's author) lived, so it's kind of a big deal here) As I get it, Pinocchio's town isn't specified, but most likely it's in tuscany, and "pleasure island" isn't actually an island (they get there through a horse wagon, and they're not seahorses XD), so both prankster's paradise and pleasure island wouldn't have been accurate to the source. Since, however, Disney DID give those translations, I find unlikely they'd just use "Paese dei balocchi". Although as you said we just saw "La Cite des Cloches". (Sorry for my partial rant, but as I said we're very passionate about Pinocchio here XD)
