Disney Town looks to be a mishmash of things found at the Disney Theme Parks. It's about time they had more references to them. I suspect the Ultima Keyblade in the first game is themed on the Main Street Electrical Parade, but I could be wrong. Obviously, the look of Disney Town is based on Mickey's Toontown, with the central gazebo, general architectural style as a distorted version of early 20th century Americana, and soft colors. The minigames themselves appear to be based on attractions at the theme parks. Besides the fact that "It's a Small World" plays in the ice cream minigame, the minigame itself is based on the ice cream parlor found at Main Street USA (in the theme parks that have them), which might be why they opted for normal ice cream this time instead of sea salt ice cream. The stage, however, resembles the one found in the Hall of Presidents. I have no idea which came first, but the ice cream shooter that Ventus pilots reminds me of Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, but closer to Toy Story Mania. The speedway is based on Autopia, with many, many liberties taken. The turnstiles used to enter the speedway resemble the ones used to enter the theme parks themselves. I am not entirely sure what Fruitball might be based on, if anything. The popcorn carts found about Disney Town parallel with the similar looking popcorn carts found throughout all of the theme parks too, though some do sell other things like hot dogs and french fries. The sewers may be based on the underground passageways that cast members (their word for general staff) and special guests use to travel around the park without being seen by visitors. And, as I mentioned on the video where Scrooge gave Ventus the passes, the passes themselves resemble the annual passes given to locals. The artwork changes year by year though. Mine for Disneyland has Mickey, Donald, and Goofy on it. And now for thoughts on the events of the story: How old are Huey, Dewey, and Louie? The fact that they were able to speak and reason at this point means they have to be in at least their teens when Sora meets them in Traverse Town. (Since they live in Traverse Town in that game, does that mean Disney Town was destroyed? Or did they move to Radiant Garden later, presumably with Scrooge's help?) That sidequest with the Ringers must have been a real challenge to program, considering how easily Dan can pick one out and target it. Having a lot of things you can target in a small space and at similar angles to each other could really confuse the game's targeting system. Look at how long SEGA struggled with Sonic's Homing Attack until they got it down in Sonic Unleashed (which was still unusuable for many; it wouldn't be until Sonic Generations that it was refined enough that people agreed it was well executed). Chip and Dale are at the speedway because Mickey isn't king yet, I'm guessing. It looks like they maintain the machines at the speedway, and it may be that Mickey recognized their engineering skill and reassigned them to Gummi technology later on. (Also, I would play a Kingdom Karts.) That vase-breaking minigame in Olympus Coliseum would be right up Link's alley. Probably been that way since the first game.

The Ice Cream side quest is the closest thing BBS has to synthesis and a precursor to Remy's cooking side quest. Basically there are certain unverse (the pot shaped ones, I think) that drop ingredients that can be used for ice cream recipes. Certain recipes have the unique property of triggering certain command styles (for example, a sour citrusy ice cream can induce the thunder command style or a spicy one can trigger the fire command style). Each character has a recipe that also triggers a command style unique to them. Plus I love the design for each ice cream and they look delicious.

Maybe it's manzai comedy, which consists of a joke as we westerners would know it, plus a reaction from another character to the punchline. I find manzai annoying, but it's the backbone of Japanese comedy to this day.

Man I got so stuck on that Icecream Mini-game the first time I played that I quit Ventus's campaign and beat Terra's story. Also, I think that next to Kingdom hearts 2 BBS has the best progression system. I just love how progression was tied to drive forms in KH2. The only disadvantage is that final form unlocks so late and you don't get glide until then.

I'm sure Disney wouldn't let this happen but it would be neat if they gave Pete more of a reason to be against Mikey. If you remember the early Mikey shorts, steamboat willie to be exact, Mickey is the one that messed with Pete's boat first and started the fight. Pete went too far but he wasnt without justification. Personally I like mischievous Mickey. Makes him feel more clever and sly like Bugs Bunny. Disney only kinda let's that happen these days

@PlayFrame Jokes like Phil's "Two Words" bit are super easy to translate over AND keep as a joke. Translating jokes usually doesn't keep them funny, just weird. Thus, Phil not being able to count to two is easier to make a joke about than changing the words to make a clever wordplay.

Though second guess would be there is some rule Disney had about certain worlds not clashing which at least was a thing, so maybe there is some rules to HoT jess with iconic looks/the main reason they do get different looks so to not break the workd rules. I, really wish them to bring back the goofy fun Minigames from BBS, and properly flesh em out, maybe. a Multiplayer arena, a kart sim, dude that could just be fun to goof around with. It bugs me that they didn't implement online functions with the HD version, i can understand why they didn't or couldn't. But with it moving onto a proper console it would just make the multiplayer, just, better, as more people could actually make use of it.

At first, I thought Zack was Cloud, because obviously. But it did seem a bit strange...it didn't quite fit the prequel bit. And the voice wasn't right, obviously. That's probably because I only ever played FFVII on the PC. I didn't get to know "hi-res" Zack, and he just doesn't have that much screen-time in the OG game, although he is, obviously, very important. But once I saw folks mention him, wow did it click. That was a good choice on the game's part.
