I grew up poor in the 90's, so I had to make the most of it anytime I got a new game to keep (usually from the bargain bin!) I got to the point where I became very good at this game and memorized the obstacle courses. I was waiting to see how y'all handled the road platforms in Tornado Run, which took me the longest to learn. Sometimes you just gotta do regular jumps, because you'll overshoot with the flippy ones. This is the game that singlehandedly broke up the original iteration of the Game Grumps, by the way. Also, to echo another comment I saw on here, I would buy a Jomboy-themed Guts tee!

Hello, I had done a few speedruns of this and it's absolutely boring, but here's a few fun things I found out. 1: The kid's stats actually do matter as they perform differently, but the one that matters the most for best attempts is the girl who favorite sport is track & field (has the highest jump and is fast). 2: Each time the game I believe is started up (at reset), it loads up one of two seeds for the obstacle parts. For the speedrun, use to reset until I got one seed that was the easiest of the two to progress through and remember. My time on leaderboards is 10m 32s 930ms, but you're really only needing to perform for about 3 to 4 mins of it because the rest is just the basket games that are roughly 3 mins of just making the points needed and then waiting for time to run out.

From a 1994 issue of Nintendo Power: "Pros: Good graphics and some of the events are fun. Cons: It would take Guts to call this a balanced game. Poor play control in most of the events."

Yo! Just a heads up. When y’all get to season 2, episode 9, the contestant Mike Mitchell has a channel on KZbin showing the episode he was on. I know ever one in the comments has been hoping y’all could connect with some previous player. Might make for a good video, hooking up with him. Btw, the channel name is just his name. E.T.A……always thought it was cringy when people ask others to thumbs up their comment but y’all help me out so that this can get to the top and be seen.

I think I know why Jake gave up on the course, and not only because it was too difficult for him. He figured that even if Jomboy managed to beat him on the Crag and he got second, he'd still win the overall game. As for the "BONUS", those come into play whenever you find a special Bonus pennant in either Basic Training or Tornado Run.
