If you click Taiwan and are behind by 1000 km, the correct location isn't going to be on Taiwan. 1000 km is 620 miles. 1000 miles is 1609 km. The contiguous 48 states are roughly 2600 miles (4200 km) wide across the middle. The southern tip of Texas to the Canadian border is a little over 1550 miles (2500 km). In case it's more useful, New York state is just a bit more than 500 km across (not counting Long Island). Find whatever reference measure works best for you to estimate distances. p.s. Aside from Hong Kong and Macau, there is pretty much no China coverage in Google Street View. I think they have limited trekker coverage at tourist spots, but I highly doubt that would show up in the games you're playing. The Kinmen Islands immediately east of Xiamen look like they're part of China, but they are controlled by Taiwan and do have Street View coverage. I have no idea if there's an easy way to identify them. For what you're doing, you'll be fine ignoring that they exist since many of your opponents won't either.
