Thank you.
@nelizmastr5 жыл бұрын
The FX8350 won’t work, the thin client needs an APU since it has no graphics built in otherwise. Also, it’s not a socketed CPU in modern thin clients, but soldered. The 8350 would catch fire anyway as even most desktop boards out there can’t properly handle it. You’re better off just building a Ryzen based system.

Then I found out about thin clients on youtube, a thing which I did not knew that it existed and saw a few old ones having better specs than that pi variant ^ (but theyre better since they can run windows) and they can also run source engine games and etc for under 12$ which is insane. I have a few cheap listings (around 10 usd) on local websites here but they're all just really weak thin clients (weak as in weak for a pc makeover) stuff like 128 or 258 mb ram with at max 500-800 mhz processors lmao

NelizMastr - Tech for PC & Mac I taught a thin client was that it would remotely connect to a remote PC in a datacenter .....
@MultiWirth5 жыл бұрын
@@beedslolkuntus2070 that´s true. They´re designed to do remote desktop to an big server, so that´s why they don´t need much cpu power. So they can be silent, cheap and energy efficient. On the other newer generations have more cpu power, ddr3 memory and this will break all limits in case of memory. Also they often have a dedicated sata interface for standard 2,5" drives and if you have luck, it comes with an pci-e slot where you can place in an low profile video card. I´ve got an Fujitsu Futro S550, very similar to the machine in the video, upgraded to a dualcore cpu and put in a 32gb CF card (it uses generic flash cards instead of weird modules). It can run Windows 10 just fine. Anyways it barely runs. So i got an Hp T610 with a much better APU, installed 8GB DDR3, 120gb standard ssd and a pci-e wifi card (maybe there will be a video card later) It´s installing windows 10 at the moment and with windows 7 it can even play youtube videos up to 720p 27 frames, we´ll see how win10 performs.

MultiWirth Heh, but I may find it challenging to find a reailble cloud provider for hosting the OS, VERY insecure when you think your OS is fully stored is some cloud ;-;
@MultiWirth5 жыл бұрын
@@beedslolkuntus2070 Usually you don't store the os in the cloud. You have a local IT network in your company or office and a big server pc somewhere inside your local network which does have for example windows server as OS and what a thinclient does, it connects via remote desktop and you can login into your user account. The operating system of the clients csn't do more than this. No build in browser, file browser or anything Often their boot drives are even read only filesystems and the usb ports can be configured to ignore usb drives to increase internal security. A thinclient's job is to output a video signal and send inputs to the server. If this method was insecure, big companies wouldn't implement this kind of IT infrastructure.
