Doom 3 was fantastic, the only thing I didn't like about the BFG edition was that they gave you a shoulder mounted flashlight. Sure it makes more sense, but it was just way more intense when you had to choose between using a gun, or being able to see in the dark.

If this makes you feel old... imagine being around 8 years old and you played Super Mario Bros when it was first released on NES back in 1985 xD Yeah. Time flies by, doesen't it? And I still think Doom 3 looks great even today! The lighting is amazing for the time. Still holds up ^_^ I think it adds to the horror looking so "old" nowadays :D Almost more scary now than when it was released. Almost a little like the "Cry of Fear"-effect.

It's a classic. Also no matter the version I would recommend changing jump to space and flashlight to right click, it just flows better.

I don't have nostalgia goggles for Doom 3. Although, visually impressive at the time it was a game with design compromised by technical limitations, straying aside from the formula which made originals great. Slow movement, tight spaces, narrow corridors, single enemies, that's not Doom.
