There's 2 versions of Wrath of Cortex. The original version DOES have crazy long load times. There was an updated version released later on with some minor changes, the load times being one of them.

Technically there's like 10 version's if you can't each console/region/revision. XBox version has best graphics and loading times of all 3.

Yeah, iirc the original PS2 release shipped on a CD, not a DVD, which caused the long loading.

@@bigcade554 All releases of PAL version of WoC are CD's - the game is just that small. PAL WoC updated revision has load times of around 17 seconds. Not that long. I wish I'd find the original revision (SCN variant) for a decent price, want to test that one. And yes, it's what one of those items I need for the collection.

Both Spyro 3 and Warped are the ones I'm most nostalgic out of the trilogy. It was the first games I played out of the series and I just fell in love with the entire game play and characters and setting. Glad we got that in common and a lot of people also enjoyed Warped as much as us!

Wrath of Cortex was one of my first PS2 games. I think it's waaay over-hated, and some people just jump on the hate bandwagon instead of giving it a fair shake, even feigning reactions simply because it would go along with the hate train, they don't want to be that heretic that thinks the game is at least ok. Nostalgia aside, WoC gave us Crunch, and it had some great music. I still imagine 'Knight Time' whenever I have to walk long distances in the dark.

I can actually say I've been there right from the start of Crash Bandicoot and I used to spend hours on the original. The games actually tought me how to keep calm and walk away if I had to because one day I mental at the game so my mum having had enough took the disc out and smashed it to pieces and it wasn't till a couple of years later I was allowed to finally play it again 🤣🤘🏻

Great video ;) Also, Activision said in August last year that they're gonna release remade titles from their other (other than Crash and Spyro) IPs and only totally new content for both Crash and Spyro (most likely because most of the Crash and Spyro games released after the OG trilogies and CTR had much worse sales and reviews) tho it ofc doesn't mean that new Crash/Spyro titles can't have some elements from later games in the series. And also, there's 2 ways I could see remake/s of some later Crash and/or Spyro title/s tho I think they're unlikely. First is side mobile game/s with adjusted controls and graphics. Second is releasing a remake/s as a bonus to the brand new title/s. But releasing for example remade Twinsanity as a standalone title on big platforms? Definitely not. And also, I played the OG Crash trilogy (never finished Crash 1 mainly because of the save system which sucks in this game) and demos of CTR and Bash on PS3 'cause I'm too young to remember PS1 days (actually I'm 1 year younger than you). I also played The Huge Adventure/XS, CNK and COTT but for really short amount of time 'cause I played those games on GBA emulator on phone and touchscreen controls were awful (at least for me). And if I'd have to choose my favorite Crash game, I'd choose Crash 3 and there's 2 reasons why : -it's my first Crash game (I played Crash games on the PS3 in this order: Warped-2-1-CTR demo-Bash demo; unfortunately I don't remember the order of games that I played on the GBA emulator); -even if I don't like non-platforming levels in Warped (except the levels with Pura 'cause they're awesome), the platforming levels were so good (especially with powers like death tornado spin or bazooka) that when I think about this game, I'm like ,,this is the best Crash game I've played". However, my opinion may change 'cause I'm gonna buy a new console (by ,,new" I mean newer than my now broken PS3) to play Crash and Spyro remakes, Crash 4 and other Crash and Spyro games that will be most likely released in the future.

Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back is the best Crash game for me. Warped was good too, but I don’t think it was the best of the trilogy. To a 7 year old kid the whole warp room concept was amazing and how some of the levels intertwined and stuff when you got the gems, plus the ‘secret’ warp room that tied it in to Crash 1 with the islands in the background. That was exciting stuff in the 90s believe me ha! Good times. Of all the games I’ve played before and since then, including an endless list of 90s & modern platformers, Crash 2 is Still one of my all time favourite games, for both nostalgic value as well as genuinely a top of its genre platformer

Crash 2 might actually be the most important game in Crash saga because if this sequel to Crash 1 sucked then Crash wouldn't be as famous as it is now. Yet somehow it is an improvement on Crash 1, introduced slide jump, new crates that are still used to this day like Nitro and locked crates, and a save game ability.

Mind over Mutant is actually my favourite of the PS2 games, like yeah the backtracking can be tedious but when I revisited the games I had the most fun with it. I actually really liked the worldbuilding personally, it's not all obvious but if you look around to infer stuff and talk to people you find out some pretty interesting stuff (much of which went over my head as a kid lol).

To clarify, I've heard that the loading times for Wrath of Cortex do take forever IF you're playing the original black label version on PS2. If you have the Greatest Hits version for PS2, or the Xbox/GameCube versions, then they're not as long.

Lewis, i have no idea how i beat Crash Bash 200% with Coco as a kid either. Its just pure luck, lol XD Crash Bash suffers from Artificial Difficulty... so that's why its unreasonably hard. Like tank wars, enemies do way more damage, and take way less damage from you. Polar Push minigames, makes the strength of the polar bear stronger etcetc.

Many people say that Twinsanity's invincible Aku-Aku shoudn't let you die to explosives, but I always thought it's necessary. A lot of puzzles require clearing away walls of nitro crates and if Aku-Aku would protect you from those, all you had to do is to run into them to get the gem behind.

Crash Bandicoot is my first game I ever played since 1997 (as got the PS1 then). I have played 2, 3, CTR, Crash Bash,Wrath of Cortex, didn't play many titles after that as I knew it was going downhill, Crash Tag Team Racing was an exception but wasn't great. Played the N Sane Trilogy, the remake of CTR and Crash 4 which is on my channel. Overall, great vid!
