One critical rule, NEVER exchange Primogems for Aquaint Fates because you get them as you play the game. Only use them for Intertwined fates (the currency for the time-limited character banner)

If you do that, then you are pretty much forced to wish on the weapon banner if you want any of the 5-star standard banner weapons. I've been playing since 1.6, still wishing on standard from time to time and yet I'm still trying to get the rest of those.

Story gets more interesting and better as you progress, as well as the exploration. If you leave the "gacha ethic" aspect aside, I'd say this game is very good and worth your time (coming from a player who never spent any money on it). Grinding is another thing though.

Yeah, if you think of genshin impact as a playable anime series. Its really quite good. combat can be done with non meta characters and builds since the story battles aren’t that hard. The whole gacha depends on Fomo and wanting to clear spiral abyss. However, you’re not missing much. Just some other hot anime pixels 😂. And on spiral, just build 2 hyperbloom teams and you can probably clear floor 12 with at least 1 star.

The story part of the game was a bit interesting to begin with, but boy does it get boring really fast, it is more like a kids tale force-feed to you, a Paimon gets to you, the action part and exploration is what makes it worth spending some time on for me. I have turned off character speech, the constant same 2 lines being said doing game just gets old reallly fast.

But creating so much content has cost the company hundreds of millions of dollars, gacha is basically the only way a game can make that much money lmao

I love that you gave it a try! ♡ The gacha wishing can be very frustrating, but i wholeheartedly agree that the developers put in a lot of effort for a game that you can play for free. I'm sure others have answered most of your questions, but I'll try to fill in some gaps I haven't seen before - Amber, Kaeya and Lisa are characters you get for free. There will be 3 more that I can think of. Everyone else has to be obtained via wishing (some 4* characters will be gifted on special occasions, but this is rare) - You will receive wishes during your playthrough. Blue ones can be used for the standard banner (this one is permanent), purple ones can be used for the 2 event banners. They change about every month and feature different characters or weapons. - By completing quests, exploring and other mechanics you will be rewarded with Primogems (the little 4 edged star thingies). You can exchange 160 Primogems for 1 wish of your choosing in the shop - The compass symbol shows you all current events (Navia is the newest character, so she is advertised there). Some you can do, but most of them will be difficult since you have not yet reached the area needed - The enemies will get stronger after your Adventure Rank levels to a certain point. There will be a quest for that though, so you wont miss it - You can read all the books and item descriptions in your inventory (there is a LOT) I hope I answered some of your questions. I have left others unanswered for now because the game will explain some things itself and this comment is too long already, sorry bout that ^^"

3:29 Yep. The voice cast of Genshin, in all languages, is quite stacked. Also, for the cutscene question, both siblings DO have conon names: Male - Aether; Female - Lumine. Also, the voice of paimon is Corina Boettger 6:02 You can read most description in pause menu>archive, it has a lot of descriptions for most things in the game. Some items, though, only readable in your inventory. Those are usually in the quest items tab (the one with exclamation mark, 2nd or 3rd from the right). Though, it's a question to you whether you want to read EVERYTHING, bc literally EVERYTHING has a description and most of them actually have small lore or world building stuff. A lot of them small and insignificant but they're what give such richness to the world. Also, according to devs themselves, there's about 10mil words of descriptions,books, lore and stuff (don't know if this includes quests even and this was said quite some time ago, so it's more now too) 7:05 I hate that you said that bc i won't unsee it now for the foreseeable future 8:14 To be fair, the firsts quests are simple in both regards, but overall story does gets better as the time goes on. Though, for me and a lot of people, it's the lore and world building that is superb and interesting 11:17 Says you as you lost half of the hp bar))) There is fall dmg, at certain height it will just kill your character, but you can also do plunge attack (attack while falling) to mitigate good chunk of the dmg (It still can kill you). Alternatively, opening up a glider mitigates all the height that you dropped before, so even if you put it away midair, the dmg will be calculated from the point when you took of the glider and not initial jumping off point 18:45 I would recommend reading through all these tutorials, even if off-camera. Not only they explain most things in the game, reading through each page for each tutorial gives you 1 primogem, which is a currency used to roll for character. As F2P player, it will be very beneficial to you 20:33 So, in genshin, it all about elemental system. Basically, there are main elements: Cryo/Pyro/Hydro/Electro and supporting elements: Geo/Anemo/Dendro. Main elements can interact with all other elements while support elements can interact with main elements but do not interact with other supporting elements. There's quite a lot of reactions that i won't go in detail right now (you'll unlock elemental trial domain later that will allow you to test most of reactions) but another thing is that elements also usually stick to archetypes so to speak, though this is not a hard rule. For example: Geo characters and elemental reactions are usually all about creating shields, Hydro on the other hand usually either healing or elemental application etc etc. 21:20 I would say you don't have to worry much about Artifacts right now, it will become more of a priority around adventure rank 40-45. You can usually put artifacts with good main stats ("Good main stats" depend on what characters skill scale with, since most do use ATK, but some use HP or DEF). Usually, you can pay more attention to it and optimize it if your dmg stuck somewhere and have hard time beating something 22:35 Genshin does usually take quite a bit of getting used to. Though, if you had similar experiences, you will get familiar with stuff faster. I will say, that unfortunate part for content creators is that a lot of people in community loves to backseat (it might be out of love for the game but still doesn't excuse this stuff). Just take your time and find the playstyle you want to go with, there's no inherently "Wrong" way to play, since most playstyles can beat the game, some of them might just make it harder or more time consuming 23:40 So, at certain level you unlock "Ascension domains", after completing which your world level (WL) increases. The higher the world level, the harder the enemies but so is the better the loot from chests/farmable dungeons (for level up material) or other stuff. So it does kinda level up with you but not with each level 36:25 Yeah, genshin does give you free characters. 3 at the beginning for doing the main quest, 2 for reaching AR 20 and 25 respectively, and 2 for beating certain floors of Spiral Abyss (challenge content basically). All in all, it gives you characters of each element and there are people who already beat the game with just those. There're also events, specifically main event for each patch, that either gives a free 4* weapon or free 4* character if you participate, so even if you don't want to roll for characters, you can still get a good amount of them 41:30 Adventure Rank is basically your profile level, characters have their own level. There's also a friendship level for each character, which increases mostly by having that character in your party while doing commissions or quests (there are some other methods but they come much later). Friendship level opens up character stories and voice-overs in their profile menu (at levels 2-6) and character namecard that you can use to decorate your profile at friendship level 10 (those namecards also have some lore) 51:05 As some body who tries to do it in newer regions, it only takes days) Though, talking to NPCs has benefits outside of getting world-building info: some npc give you rewards for specific dialogue options. One of those is Nun Victoria in the church. For one of her dialogue options she gives a free 4* artifact 53:15 This is event menu. This specific one is about the new story quest for the newest character. This menu will also have trials for characters that are currently on the banners, so that you can test them before pulling for them. And, obviously, other events that are going on, but those will open up to you later

1:04:25 So, outfits for characters (outside of 4 that are technically censored skins for China but optional for global) are mostly paid with real money, though, if you play during the event they're introduced, you can get skins for 4* characters for free. Right now, the pattern is: skins come out at Chinese New Year (should be the next patch, at around 30th of this month) and during summer events (usually the last patch before the new region releases). So, there's not that much skins in the game right now 1:05:40 You can go into the quest menu, select the quest and press navigate. Should show up on the mini map after that 1:10:10 Try to make it brief: You need blue balls (aquatint fates) to pull for beginners and standard banner (the most left one and the most right one here) and rainbow balls (intertwined fates) to wish for time limited banners (the 3 in the middle). You can convert primogems into either of the balls (160 primogems into 1 ball), but it's better to convert them into rainbow ones, since you can get blue mostly by playing the game and standard banner as a whole is not that important. There are specific statistics and stuff, but if you're interested in that, it would be easier for you to google "genshin impact gacha explained" and read on your own i think. ALSO, recommend to check you main in the pause menu, since it should have given you some free stuff 1:10:40 There's a lot of books in Jeans office here, but also in the library (the room on the opposite side of Jean's office). All the book you collect are in the pause menu>archive>books. You can read them whenever you want but i do warn you that some of them are a bit long 1:13:15 1st tab: The preview of what you'll get for free for just playing the game; 2nd tab: Test trials for current characters on the banner; 3rd tab: Current free event furniture for housing system that you will get later. It's basically bc the game has a collab with Chinese museum right now 4th tab: Preview of the newest character's story quest 1:16:00 The game does give you quite a lot of premium currency to pull on the banners. As also a F2P player that played since release, i have every 4* character and good amount of 5* characters. It's just, for F2P, the longer you play the easier it becomes but you also have to think about when you want to pull or save for some future character(s) 1:16:44 So, one of this skins is the "censored" skin, though they're quite similar. Other characters who have censored skins are Jean (the one you see in the cutscenes is the censored version, her original is different), Rosaria and Mona. Though, personally, i prefer the censored skins over the original for all characters except Mona 1:20:40 The one thing you should know about genshin is that it can be quite time consuming, which should be the main statistic for you to decide whether you want to play it or not. Otherwise, it's very fun game that has a lot of content for new players with consistent patch cycles (1 every 6 weeks), with new region coming out every year 1:21:15 Genshin's community can be very toxic but there's also the other side of the spectrum with very helpful people, great content creators and artists. We even have officially sponsored program (Hoyofair) that happens multiple times a year that showcases fan-works. Also fan and official concerts too. I guess, the problem is the size of active community (60mil+ players) which makes the toxic part seem big but realistically it's

Been playing for 2 years now and haven't spent any money. I got all the characters that i want and can clear the most difficult part of the game with ease. There really is no reason to spent real money if you don't want to. Best advice would be to make sure to save your primogems and only use them to get the characters that you like. Genshin has a pity and guaranteed system, so getting characters is not that bad either. And ignore everyone who says that you HAVE to get certain characters. You can clear the most difficult part of the game with the worst characters. So just go for who you like :)

One thing that's going to be very important in this game as far as exploration goes is Stamina. There's a lot of reasons people compared Genshin to Breath of the Wild when it first game out, it's because of similar exploration mechanics like stamina. In this game, you increase stamina by finding certain small items on the map. They come in the form of stars that appear on your minimap (like they pop up whenever your near one). Trick is finding them because some can be hidden good. You bring them to those Statues of Seven. They look different depending on which region you're in. But yeah a head's up on that. Because believe me you're going to need good amounts of stamina.

Excited to see you give this a try. I love the games story to death, it does have slow points like people say. The beginning can be rough when you know there is hundred of hours ahead of you. I personally don't think this game is very good for lets plays (even though I would obviously watch videos you make on it). I find it to be more of a "log in and explore or do daily missions while relaxing" type of game than a "react to" game. Everyone loves seeing people experience the main and side quests, but exploration is 50+% of the game for most people and that is mainly just free-talk time in terms of lets plays. The money/gambling talk surrounding this game is rough. Even though a lot of the big Genshin content creators use or showcase free accounts, people still pretend that money is even remotely needed for the game. The only thing you need to spend money on is if you want A LOT of characters, you can only use 4-8 at a time so that isn't even a reasonable playstyle.

it’s so crazy to see how different it is for new players now compared to the 1.0 patches like starting out with jean and ambers alternate outfits and how much content they have to get through with the story quests, hangout events, archon quests, teapot stuff, etc. vs how it was when we only had mondstadt and liyue not knowing when inazuma was gonna come or what the game had it store for us. i really hope you enjoy genshin as much as us OG players do and don’t worry too much abt the stuff on twitter, most people are just upset at the developers and the gacha system mostly everything else about the game is wonderful. watching this reminded me how much i love genshin and has brought new life to it for me. also i hope you get through enough of the story to play the upcoming event lantern rite! it’s a liyue festival that happens every year and it would be so fun to see you play through it if you ever get the chance! but anyway welcome to the genshin community :)

Ooh, I wasn't expecting this, but I'm really happy to see it! I hope you enjoy it enough to continue^^ I feel like if it wasn't a gacha game it would more widely be considered to be a really amazing game, the sheer amount of content and the depth of the story are breathtaking. My main piece of advice would be to take your time. A large part of the community seems to think that the first thing new players should do is uncover the entire map as quickly as possible - personally I really strongly disagree with that, because it takes away some of the magic that comes along with exploring the world along with the story and seeing new places for the first time when the story takes you there. It does come with some drawbacks since there often are limited time events in newer areas that you'll miss out on, and if you happen to receive a newer character (which can happen even without spending money) you won't be able to level them up until you get to the area that has the items they need, but I personally just value the progressive experience more. Obviously it's up to you what you prefer, but I figured I'd put my perspective out there.

Since you were asking for an explanation about how wishes work, here's what I hope is a compact explanation of the most important stuff (I know it looks like a lot, but these following bullet points are the main thing to understand for now): - You can wish on multiple "banners", which you can see at the top, each of which differs slightly in what you can get from it. - To make wishes, you need items called "Fates". You can either spend one fate for one wish or ten fates for ten wishes at once. The only exception to this is the Beginner banner, which gives you ten wishes for 8 fates, and it disappears after doing so twice, so you'll get 20 wishes from it for just 16 fates, but for every other banner: 1 fate = 1 wish. - There are two kinds of fates: "Acquaint fates" (fully blue), which are used for the Beginner banner and the Standard/Permanent banner, and "Intertwined fates" (blue and pink), which are used for the limited time weapon and character banners. - The game will occasionally give you both kinds of fates for free or for completing certain objectives (check your mail on the left of the main menu - there should be some in there), or you can get additional fates by spending primogems. - Primogems are frequently awarded for completing quests, opening chests and various other things. 160 Primogems can be exchanged for 1 fate of either kind. - This part won't apply to you if you don't wanna spend money, but you can buy a currency called Genesis Crytals for real money, which can either be used to buy character outfits or exchanged for extra Primogems at a 1:1 rate. As a general piece of advice that most of the playerbase agrees on: ONLY EXCHANGE PRIMOGEMS FOR INTERTWINED FATES, NEVER ACQUAINT. This is because acquaint fates can only be used on the beginner and permanent banners, and everything you can get from those also has a chance to drop from the other banners which use intertwined fates. To clarify, if the game gives you acquaint fates, go ahead and use them, you'll still get something for it and they can't be used for anything else, just don't buy any additional ones because your primogems are much better spent on intertwined fates. That should cover the most important stuff you need to know, here's a little extra info about the specifics of each banner: *Permanent wish (Wanderlust Invocation):* You'll mostly get 3-star weapons (these are the same in every banner), with a chance to get a 4-star weapon or any 4-star character that's currently in the game, and a small chance of getting a 5-star character or weapon, though the 5-stars are limited to a fairly small pool that you can see when checking the details and that generally stays the same overtime. You are guaranteed to get at least one 4-star result in every 10 wishes (doesn't matter if you spend 10 at once or one by one), and a 5-star every 90 wishes, if you're not lucky enough to get one before that, and that counter (called pity) resets when you get one to keep it predictable. *Beginner wish:* Mostly the same to the Permanent wish, but as mentioned before it's cheaper, only lets you do 20 wishes in total, and one of them is guaranteed to be the character Noelle. *Event Character banner:* There's usually two of these that run at the same time, and they stay around for a few weeks before being replaced with new ones. They work mostly the same as the permanent banner, except: 1) There are three 4-star characters that have a large drop-rate boost whenever you get a 4-star pull, and 2) the 5-star pulls can't be a weapon, it'll always be either the character that's featured on the banner, or one of the 5-star characters from the permanent pool. It's a 50:50 chance between those two option, but if you lose it and get one from the permanent pool, the next time is always guaranteed to be the featured character. The pity counter works the same as well, and even though it's separate from the permanent banner's pity, it is shared between both event character banners, and also carries over when the characters in them change. *Event Weapon banner:* Basically the weapon version of the previous one, but it's a little more complicated because it combines 2 featured weapons in a single banner and has it's own slightly more annoying system to account for that. Not really worth considering right now, it's mostly for people who either know exactly what they need to get the damage numbers they want, or who actually have money to spend on it. I hope that's not too confusing, I tried to keep it as consise as possible without leaving out too much.^^' Also don't worry about the limited time characters, it's true that they can only be pulled while they're on the banners, but they always get reruns after usually a few months, and not just once either. (Oh, and one thing I almost forgot: Getting the same character multiple times can happen, but it's not as bad as it sounds because it unlocks their constellation levels which improve their abilities in various ways.)

I started this game for exploration, lore & story telling! Just saying, play however you want and have fun! When I started this account, I gave myself only 1 achievement goal, and at ar55, I wish 2x on the beginners wish banner. I was crossing my fingers for NO 5* character because that would ultimately ruin the account, and I would probably delete it. (harsh) Yaoyao was my very first lantern rite character last year! The mail is where you’ll get most rewards that are considered gifts. This will be stuff like gifts from the creators, characters birthdays, and other stuff! As someone who's been playing on and off since the first patch and never spent a single cent on this game, I can vouch that staying F2P throughout the whole game is totally fine! Here are some things about pulling characters that I can help explain: 1. For wishing, there are 4 types of banners. Beginner's banner, standard banner, character event banner, and the weapon banner. - Beginner's banner is basically the standard banner but with a discount and limited to only 20 pulls. You're also guaranteed to get the character "Noelle" from it! This banner will be unavailable after your 20 pulls. - Standard banner has all the 4 star characters, and a select few of 5 star characters (Qiqi, Diluc, Keqing, Tighnari, Mona, Dehya, Jean). This banner is permanent. - Character event banner changes every patch, which is about every month. It features everything from the standard banner and the current limited character (Right now, it's Navia). After the banner ends, you won't be able to pull for the limited character until their rerun in the future. It also features a rate-up for three 4 star characters. - The weapon banner features rate-ups for two 5 star weapons and a few 4 star ones. This also changes every patch, the 5 star weapons featured usually corresponds to the featured character (e.g the 5 star weapon in this patch's weapon banner is Navia's signiture weapon). 2. Fates are used to wish on the banners. There are two types, acquaint fates (the blue one) and intertwined fates (the colorful one). Acquaint fates can be used on the beginner's banner and the standard banner, while intertwined fates can be used for the character event banner and weapon banner. 3. Primogems, the colorful four pronged star currency, can be used to get fates! Each fate costs 160 primogems. These can be acquired in-game, but you can also buy them with real money. 4. There is a pity system for wishing. Basically, everytime you pull it increases your pity. There is a 0.6% base chance to get a 5 star, but after pulling 75 times, also called as soft pity, every pull raises the % chances each time until you hit 90 pulls, which gives you a 100% chance of getting a 5 star. After getting a 5 star, your pity resets back to 0. However, when you do get a 5 star in the character event or weapon banner, you'll have to go through a 50/50. There is a 50% chance you'll get a 5 star from the standard banner instead of the limited featured ones. If you lose your 50/50, you're 100% guaranteed to get the limited character/weapon in your next 5 star pull. All in all, please enjoy the game at your own pace! :)

1:12:33 for the tab with the compass, that is for events. the game gives you lisa and kaeya once you reach the adventure rank it says there. to do that you beat monsters, open chests and do quests. for navia, she's a current character that is really far ahead of you story wise and the story quest for her is for caught up players, so don't worry about that just yet. 1:13:33 for wishing, you get the wishing items for the beginner's wish as you progress. but you only have 20 wishes on the beginners, and after that you can only wish on other types of banners. i would say don't focus on who is "good", as this game is completely playable with anyone you like! :)

genshin's lore is genuinely some of the most interesting stuff to me haha. A lot of it has to be read in item descriptions and books and similar though. Like, so much of the worldbuilding is just right there. But most dont really spend the time figuring it out, which makes sense since its not exactly riveting youtube content haha. The story itself is great but can be a bit slow at times, you can Definitely see the immense improvement overall from the beginning to the latest stuff. The stakes obviously also get a lot bigger than just,, oh no scary dragon hurting people. Personally tho im not a fan of the dialogue bloating. No Paimon, I dont need you to repeat information that we were literally just told in the previous line... every single time..... youll eventually know what i mean if you continue haha If you think Mondstadt is already pretty I can't wait until you see some of the newer countries. I haven't finished watching yet, but good for you for giving the game a chance. One thing that I always tell new players is that Genshin is pretty much and f2p single-player game. There is no need to compete with others. And the game is completeable even if you do not spend any money. There's no cash-locked stuff nor anything. People spend because of waifus and husbandos, but having more characters doesn't really give any advantages. Also, you should play at your own pace. You have 5 major regions, and a few sub-regions to explore. You're in for a long long ride. Edit: Also, don't forget to check the mail. New player wishes are sent via mail. You should have enough for Noelle. Same as primogems whenever a new patch drops.

oh i'm so excited, i've never been around at the very beginning for a new player experiencing genshin before! welcome to teyvat, traveler! i started playing genshin just about a year ago, basically held at arrowpoint by a friend of mine to give it a try, and it has unironically wormed its way into my top 5 games ever. i know you said you gave this a try a while ago, and i hope that you stick with it this time-- though the game start slow, it picks up into some of the most rewarding storylines i've experienced in a while. i have some advice and explanations for you given your questions throughout the video, but i'll put them in the replies to this comment so you aren't starting out the gate reading novels upon novels from me. besides, the most important thing is to have fun, and you do already seem to be doing that, so no troubles there! :D

Basic Things: - Do not apologize for exploring! Genshin *always* rewards exploration, whether it's with treasure chests, materials, or even just some really beautiful views. Going out of your way to look around only really delays the story, but if you love exploration in video games, don't let anyone tell you you can't or shouldn't do that. The story will wait for you, and the worst that will happen in navigating away from a quest area is that you'll have to redo a small amount of dialogue (like with Paimon overlooking the Statue of the Seven). - Yes, that is Zach Aguilar you're hearing as the Traveler! This game has an absolutely star-studded cast, it's honestly impressive how many big names they've managed to pull, and I look forward to hearing your realizations on some of the other voice actors, too! - A note on Paimon and your Traveler MC: Wander doesn't get to talk much, and Paimon is often your mouthpiece, as it's canon that the Traveler is still learning the common language of Teyvat from her, so Paimon does a lot of the talking for him and, assumedly, translates into simpler terms if necessary. A lot of players find Paimon insufferable in the starting chapters of the game, but at least in my opinion, she does get markedly better with every country you visit, as she starts to lean away from 'tutorial fairy' and into 'actually a character in her own right'. - Paimon isn't the only thing that improves over time, either. The story, music, visuals, character designs, even the expression work gets better and better with every arc. Again, just my opinion, but somewhere between the third and fourth country (Inazuma and Sumeru) is when Genshin really grows its beard. And after that, it's banger after banger in every respect. - If you're a fan of lore in games, I absolutely highly recommend reading through the character details and voiceovers for all the characters, as well as looking at artifact and weapon details in your backpack! Even the items you pick up and materials you gather can have some small, interesting blurbs that clue you into parts of the world you otherwise wouldn't think of-- even stuff we haven't encountered in game yet! You can do that on your own time, of course, if you'd rather have your videos focus more on action and story, but if learning deep dark secrets about the worlds you game in appeals to you, Teyvat has a plethora of deep-lore tidbits hidden in collectible books, weapons, artifacts, quest items, npc dialogue... legitimately, everywhere. - Your Adventure Rank is tied to your World Level-- the higher your WL, the more your AR can climb, and the more rewards you can get from the Adventurer's Guild. Progressing in the main questlines will also require certain AR levels of you, and other mechanics such as multiplayer and fishing (for some reason...) are also kept behind ARs. Your characters will level independently from this, but as your WL increases, you'll want to make sure your character levels are keeping up, too. Otherwise, you'll find it increasingly difficult to face off against not only the regular monsters in the world, but also the world bosses you might stumble across... - Some of the characters you'll get will already come with alternate outfits-- in China, they had to change some outfits to comply with censorship laws, but for players in other locations, we have received those outfit changes as alternate costumes instead. For other costumes (of which there are only a handful right now, but they release more every six months or so), they can be bought with Genesis Crystals, which are essentially the real-life-money version of Primogems. Most of them are just visual outfit changes, but very occasionally they will release outfits that also change the character's idle animations, attack voiceovers, and idle voiceovers.

Gacha Things: - Spending money on Genshin is entirely unnecessary, but if you want new characters you will eventually need to pull on the banners. Luckily the game rewards you at every step with Primogems, the currency needed to make 'wishes'. Opening chests, finishing quests, doing events, and leveling up your characters all reward either Primogems or 'Fates' (worth 160 Primogems), which allow you to wish, though you can only use certain kinds of fates on certain kinds of banners. If you decide you want to spend a light amount of money, the Welkin is a pretty painless investment ($5USD/mo) that gives you extra Primogems daily, and also a small amount of Genesis Crystals. Saving up for a few months with a Welkin active can result in the difference between getting that character you really want, and not getting it, plus you can use the Genesis Crystals to either supplement your Primo supply, or get one of the aforementioned outfits! But again, this game can be experienced (and enjoyed!) in its entirety without spending a single dime. - The standard banner uses blue 'Acquaint Fates', and you will always have access to it. This banner has a set number of characters you can pull from it. The limited banners change out every 3 weeks, use rainbow 'Intertwined Fates', and have characters that you can't gather from the standard banner. If a character comes around on a limited banner and you don't pull them before the time runs out, don't panic! Characters will always be rerun at some point in time, though you may have to wait several months before you see a particular character's banner show up again. - There are three different rarities of pulls you can get from the gacha. Three Star (Blue) pulls can only be weapons, and while some are useful in niche situations, you'll likely use them as fodder. Four Star (Purple) pulls can be characters *or* weapons, and when paired correctly, Four Star characters and weapons can be incredibly powerful! Getting Four Stars shouldn't really feel like a 'loss' because of this. Everyone and everything in this tier can be useful in some respect as long as you put enough love and care into them. Five Star (Gold) pulls can also be characters *or* weapons, and in general take less love and care to make them extremely powerful. Pulling multiple copies of a weapon will allow you to 'refine' that weapon, which increases the efficacy of its special skill (which you can read in the weapons menu in your backpack!). This stacks up to 5 times per weapon, and you can have multiple Refinement 5 copies of the same weapon! Pulling multiple copies of a character will unlock a new skill, or greatly improve a skill, for them via their Constellation (which you can view on the constellation selection in the character menu!). This can stack up to 7 total times for a character, so if you have only pulled them once, they're considered C0, and if you have pulled them seven times, they are C6. These are all good things! They make your characters stronger! :) - Genshin's gacha has a pity system wherein you are guaranteed to pull a 5 Star rarity character within 90 pulls of your last 5 Star. On average it will take less than that, but it will never go over that number. If pulling on the limited banner, you will need to win a coinflip to get the character on that banner; if you lose, it defaults to one of the 5 Stars available in the standard banner. However, losing that 50/50 will *guarantee* that the next time you pull on a limited banner and get a 5 Star, that 5 Star *will* be the featured character. This guarantee carries over to future banners too, so if you aren't interested in a limited character for a few months and then one comes up that you _are_ interested in, you can pull with the peace of mind that your next 5 Star is guaranteed to be the one you want. (more easily: 90 pulls or less will get you a 5*. If you don't get the character on the banner this time, you're guaranteed to get the character on the current banner next time your pull turns gold!) - The weapon banner isn't worth it. I PROMISE. No amount of streamer or youtuber luck can save you from the disappointment of the weapon gacha.

I guess one thing to mention would be quest types: There are "major quests", these quests have a special label box outside of the usual quest box, as you can see with the Archon Quest you've been playing in this video. Non-major quests will not have that label. Some world quests will start gaining that border in either the 3rd or 4th nation. When I say major, I mean completing these WQs will take 3-6 hours! *ARCHON QUEST* (Voiced) (Bold Gold Exclamation Point) *"Archon Quests tell the main story of the Traveler and Paimon, as they travel the world of Teyvat in search of the Traveler's missing twin sibling by proxy of visiting all of The Seven. They are voiced." - Genshin Impact Wikia* There is a (mostly) linear overarching main story, which is called an *Archon Quest* , and they always appear at the top of your quest menu. These are the big set-pieces, and the ones that pushes the main story forward, with playable characters involved in these stories. Archon Quests are labeled: Prologue, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc. They are unlocked linearly. There are also archon quests that are labeled as *"Interlude Chapter"* . They will be unlocked when you , the special part is that they themselves are not requirements for other quests, but they are still "main story", especially for characters and world lore. Just play them as you meet their requirements. *Story Quest* (Voiced) (Smaller Gold Exclamation Point) *"Story Quests consist primarily of chapters related to the background and personalities of each playable character or alternatively Event Quest lines. Hangout Events belong to this category of quests. They are voiced." - Genshin Impact Wikia* These are playable character quests, mainly focused on a specific playable character, basically characterization quests. They tend to be character focused, and usually not lore important (but there are exceptions, though you'll see at least 20-30 hours in XD) They are unlocked with account level, and when you have completed certain archon quests. They give insight into the various locations and stories of the world. They are usually unvoiced." - Genshin Impact Wikia* These can range from simple 10-15 minute fetch quests (especially in the first 2 nations), to expansive world building sagas lasting 6 hours (in latest regions). They are all unvoiced however. I have no idea what your tolerance on reading is... I had great times with the select great WQs, but not everyone can stomach the reading. *Commissions* (Unvoiced) (Purple Exclamation Point) *"Commissions are daily quests players can complete for rewards, but some have a unique story tied to them and have specific requirements. They are unvoiced." - Genshin Impact Wikia* Unlocked later on. Like all gacha games, these are your daily refreshed quest, 4 per day, that grant primogems (gacha currency). These are the most consistent primogem income. These can range from "killing 5 enemies" to "Follow this course" to "Small dialogue fetch quest"

I HIGHLY recommend you turning the brightness to the lowest value possible in the settings. There are a lot of overexposure issues that can arise in the default setting. (Though of course, you you like how it is already then that's ok too)

genshin is like my comfort food, especially because i love exploring the map and the lore. not care that much about the meta, but as a player who leveled up all the characters to at least lv 85, all the characters are good as long as you give them decent artifacts and weapons and level their talent levels. so just play whoever you like! no need to feel restrained to have to play some fixed team. i play different teams all the time and it's so fun using different characters exploring the world

I’ve been playing this game for 3 years now and this is honestly one of the nicest playthroughs I’ve seen.✨ It’s always so nice seeing someone genuinely enjoying the game and take their time exploring the world and just having fun with it. So many times I see playthroughs where ppl seem impatient and it definitely affects how they enjoy it. Honestly it's such a beautiful feeling to start this game, and seeing it through this video made me so nostalgic! I hope you enjoy the game and play however you want. Being f2p is honestly no problem in this game if youre not looking to collect characters (you'd just have to pick who you pull for, they all come back at some point). Some characters are definitely better than others, but majority are viable (even the 4-stars!) so you should just play who you want. You don't have to worry about building anyone this early on anyway since the drop rates aren't very good yet at this world level. You can just look it up whenever the fights start getting tough. The lore is pretty fun to discover too, and I hope you let your curiosity run as you play. It definitely made my personal playing experience more fun haha happy gaming!

Also, the game is pretty merciful in that they give you one character per element for free, since some of the overworld puzzles and collectibles require certain elemental reactions (e.g., torch puzzles require pyro, you cant collect dandelions without anemo, etc...) so you dont feel the need to pull for characters just to clear the base game (even though pulling would definitely make your life easier in certain scenarios lol). You should note that the three free 4-stars you get are actually the rarest characters in the game, since they never get a rate up in the banners, and you can only get them in the standard banner, or in the star glitter store. I main kaeya, and have ever only gotten copies of him through the store in the 2 years I've been playing 🥹🥹🥹 I love how you walk around and talk to everyone! I hope you can keep the mindset of playing an rpg as long as you can haha most people who play this game end up finding talking to NPCs and reading the lore (e.g., item descriptions, books,etc...) tedious and it's very understandable because there is A LOT, and going through them is very time consuming. But it's also very rewarding at the same time to be able to connect the details in this way. A lot of times, they drop lore for something you don't encounter until way waaay later in random descriptions, or they tell you about the history of the place, or an important person in history. If you're interested but dont have the time or focus to read them, there should be some content creators on youtube who either read these out for people to listen, or summarize the contents for people :) thats what I do to keep up!

This was really fun to watch. Hope you keep playing. The main story has a few slow points, but otherwise keeps getting better and better as your progress. You have much to look forward to regarding boss battles and music.

You can get a good amount of characters without paying a dime, even two teams without pulling! • the main character Traveler (Wanderer is actually a different character in Genshin) • Amber • Lisa • Kaeya Then theres some that are level locked or content locked but theyre still free • Barbara • Xiangling • Lynette • Collei (And you can get Noelle from the Noelle banner, which only takes two 8 pulls, then it’s gone forever - WHICH IS OKAY! you should wish on it asap and get rid of it, you get at least two 4 star characters or weapons, one of them has to be Noelle) If you check your “mail” an icon near the camera, there should be beginner rewards for you So that’s literally 9 free characters (and only Noelle you have to pull, but they give you the wishes for her for free right away) the game gives a lot of primos from story and events and at updates, that like, honestly you can play this game completely f2p and still have a BUNCH of characters to use and build - Other tips: • keep on picking up everything you see, the inventory will rarely if ever be full, and you want a lot of resources for later content • its okay to get every character to level 20, but after that, choose a team with good element synergy (usually one damage dealer, one healer, and one background damage) for example, Noelle, Lisa, Collei, Barbara Noelle puts on a shield, Lisa uses her ultimate (“elemental burst”), Collei uses her burst, and then barbara spams water attacks this “rotation” of attacks causes a strong elemental reaction known as Hyperbloom (thats for another time) but basically it does a good amount of dmg and the rotation has a decent synergy - so this is what we call a good team composition, good dmg and good heals Noelle shield + lisa burst + collei burst + barbara normal attacks spam • if you go to the characters screen, then you go to talents, the first three talents are usually that specific character’s dmg abilities the first one is always the “normal attacks” and it includes using the charged attack (holding down the normal attack to do an even stronger normal attack) the second is usually the elemental skill the third is usually the elemental burst (the ultimate) • artifacts are important but more so in the later game, for right now just focus on leveling characters AND THEIR WEAPONS and their talents (talents are the best way to increase damage but a lot of it is level-locked so dw too much yet, just maybe try to get everyone to talent lvl 2 for now) when it comes to building characters, just aim for atk% for everyone except anemo/dendro (do Elemental Mastery stats instead) and healers like barbara and noelle (they want mostly hp% and def% respectively) - barbara will love the 3 star thrilling tales weapon, and theres a weapon you can craft at some point called the whiteblind which is def% and good for noelle even until late game, like id still use thrilling tales or whiteblind at my level (im at lvl cap AR 60 🫠) if i wanted to use them still • pulling a character you already have gives you a “constellation” - basically a buff for that character, but each character only has 6 buffs that you can benefit from Anyways, thats a good amount for now, sorry if you ever read all this Hope you still like Genshin and best of luck!
