A few tips: 1. Collect everything you see, it may be needed in the future 2. Use elemental reactions, combinations of different elements give different cool effects 3. Collect anemocules and bring them to the statue of the archons, this will increase your stamina 4. You can use the attack while you are falling and then the character will make a plunging attack. This way you don't have to fly on glider all the way to surface. But you have to be careful, it's better not to do that when you're too high.... lol 5. HAVE FUN!

Also, colours and stars show rarity, more rare is generally more powerful. But some items are more helpful to some chars than others. Also, also, you can upgrade pretty much anything (character, weapons, talents, artifacts, constellations). You won't be able to afford to upgrade everything on dozens of characters, but you should keep an eye on all these for your preferred characters. Makes a difference.

The characters in your party are mostly just there for gameplay. Canon-wise, most of the time your MC and Paimon are by themselves, occasionally joined by characters that are involved in the current story or quest, but that doesn't mean they have to be in your party. In fact, your MC doesn't even have to be in the party even though they're always there story-wise, and it's common for players to swap them out for characters they enjoy more, once they have more to choose from.

Its a bit magical to see someone going through the game from the begining like this. I know you're likely getting a bevy of tips and such so I'll be short 1. Don't be afraid to switch from character to character in your party to use their elemental skill (not the basic attacks) 2. Take some time to observe the tutorials, a lot of the content isn't inherently intuitive. Especially the reactions themselves like melt, superconduct or swirl. 3. Have fun! Its all good to explore and get lost, fumble and such. It's a learning experience and you are slowly getting more comfotable from what i see 😄

I always smile when you say the game is beautiful because youre in the most plain looking area of the game, it only gets more beautiful and fantastical Edit: watching you figure out elemental reactions and try out combinations makes me so nostalgic! Youre doing a good job with it Edit 2: its okay to level up everyone to level 20, its cheap and you get a lot of level up materials from chests. Edit 3: for clothes and skins there's actually surprising not many in Genshin, you get free skins through events and some characters have optional skins. You can pick a free skin next update though so that might be something to look forward to!

43:24 I think they’re great questions! :) to answer, yes, only the Traveller (and Paimon) are canonically wandering around (pun absolutely intended). There will come times in the story where other characters will talk about doing things together as if it’s just them and the Traveller working together. For example, when you did the temple with Kaeya and he joined as a trial character, and when you did the temple with Lisa.

Also hey, the map is free to explore for you now! You can go anywhere and unlock the map by interacting with the statues. You literally can travel to the newest locations by just wandering around the world. You're basically free to explore anything. Not sure if anyone’s already explained about the gacha currency, but in short There are 4 gacha currencies that you need to differentiate. 1. Acquaint fate: used to wish on the standard banner and the beginner banner. Looks like a blue orb. One acquaint fate equals one wish 2. Intertwined fate: used to wish on the limited character and limited weapon banner. Looks like a more pinkish blue orb. One intertwined fate equals one wish 3. Primogems: the gems that you would collect by completing quests, unlocking waypoints, doing events, reading tutorials, etc. can be converted to acquaint fate as well as intertwined fate at a 160 primogem to 1 fate of your choice. 4. Genesis crystals: the currency you get by spending money. Can be converted to primogem at a 1 to 1 conversion rate (one genesis crystal to one primogem)

And don't worry about "missing obvious stuff" many of us also did in the early days and it makes things much more exciting. Id like to suggest you also check the manga, it is a very short prequel story that explains stuff not said in the game. Its meant to be read before even starting the game. If this is gonna be a thing, I'mma subscribe. I love when new players see the world for the first time. There is so much amazing landscapes and scenery that IMO the exploration is the absolute best part of the game. Canonically it's just the Traveler + Paimon adventuring. If a character appears in your party, it's usually for a story quest or event. Most of the time they're marked as "guest", or a 5th party member. The game actually hates when you try to climb thin things (like the top of a tree). You either freak out or the game just says "No." and you fall. When two elements meet, a reaction is created. Reactions do more damage than just single elemental damage. Some reactions are more effective than others. Superconduct (Electro + Cryo) is one. As is Freeze (Hydro + Cryo). There's also Overload (Electro + Pyro), Vaporize (Pyro + Hydro), Melt (Pyro + Cryo)... there are slightly more complex reactions, but those are some of the basics. Basically combining two elements will help you a lot and give you an easier time defeating enemies. Though some enemies aren't affected by certain elements (like fire slimes are immune to pyro, and thus Overload, which does pyro damage doesn't do anything to them). There also Geo, Anemo and Dendro elements. They don't react with each other, but can react with other elements. As for the gacha system, when you collect your rewards from the mail, you'll get 10 Acquaint Fates (aka blue fates). This is gacha currency but it can only be used on the Beginner Wish, and the Standard Wish. Use them on the Beginner Wish because you're guaranteed at least 1 character every 10x wishes. And 10x wishes cost 2 less Acquaint Fates. You can only do 10x wishes twice before the Beginner's Wish goes away, though, but it's recommended to do the Beginner's Wish since you have a chance of getting some really good characters that you can level and build right away, since they're from the first two regions. Other characters come from other regions ingame, and you need materials from a character's respective region to level them. The gist of the rest of the gacha system is: save primogems/pink fates (aka Intertwined Fates) to use on Limited Wishes for characters you're interested in. Only use blue fates (Acquaint Fates) on the Standard Wish (after you exhaust the Beginner Wish). Limited Wishes are for limited 5-star characters, which means they go away after a certain amount of time (couple weeks usually), but they'll have reruns in the future, so if you don't get a character you want now, you could always just wait. Standard Wish is forever available. How do you know which limited 5 star you'll want? Well during the time when their Wishes are available there are trials, in which you can just try out the characters and feel how they play. If you're free-to-play like myself and don't want to spend, it does take a lot of time saving primogems if you want to guarantee a certain limited 5 star character, but with the amount of content you have available you'll reach that point in no-time.

If you want to get deep into lore, artifacts ARE a great way to do it! However, the real meaty details are under the ‘Enhance’ section, instead of the general description you get on the equipping screen. It’ll be the tab above the level up section, if memory serves (I don’t have my game handy to reference). Many artifact sets have juicy lore in regards to the world, history, or even the back story of important characters! Though, the relevance isn’t often obvious, as they usually don’t refer to people with names, but rather depend on context clues to lead you to the proper discovery.

It takes time to get used to a new game :D I like it that you already grasp most of the elemental reactions and using them to your advantage! Btw, here's some of the answers for the questions you asked that I noticed: 1:42:31 - you can read the book and all other lore depth description in Archive section in the menu (the same way when you want to read in-game mail) What I can tell is that the lore in this game are so, so many and deep. Even animal, monsters, artifacts sets, viewpoints description, common items like fruits have lore and etc. Sometimes reading item description through Backpack doesn't even show the full lore/flavor text, most of them in Archive. 1:44:45 - no, not NPCs. Only playable characters you get by wishing character banners. 1:56:21 - you can use the domains (looks like square icon thingie on your map) for fast travel too
@FrederickSkinner11 ай бұрын
43:16 There are several lore-theories for the party-switching... or what ever we want to call that. My head cannon is we are actually the Traveler only, and we manifest the abilities of others we have in the "team" (front-loading or planning the abilities for the next fight). You will notice a sometimes a "forced switch" to the MC at certain story moments (like turning in commissions) indicates this. Deviations from this is when the story has them with us (trial characters or when the voice over has them talking to us during travel). I have often switched to another character and the NPC still refers to us as The Traveler or force-switched to MC momentarily.

Oh if you are planning to read on the descriptions and lore of some stuffs, like weapons and artifacts, the best place to do so is in the Archive accessed from the Paimon menu. But you can also read them from the Inventory or Character (Weapons) screen. The important thing to know is that there are MORE descriptions for a weapon rather than just the simple subtext under the weapon's name. You can read it under the Enhance button and then click on the Details tab. Let me tell you there are literal STORIES written there, and again, not just the small subtext. The lore in this game is massive.
@Koutouhara11 ай бұрын
Important - Do check all the red dots, and take time to read the mail, events, and tutorials - it seems like stuff you'd want to skip over like in other games but for this I think they are extremely helpful to learning the core game and getting the most out of rewards. Especially the limited stuff you have access to that you keep scrolling over too quickly XD Also, go through the settings menu and tweak that to your liking! Set the keybinds to things that are comfortable. Since combat is important in this game you'd want to set it to be good for you. No two people really play the same and difference in Keyboard and Controller too make a difference. I play keyboard for instance, I rebound my keys to my muscle memory from other games. Um, in terms of story and characters traveling with you - it's half/half. You unlock their favor so to speak speak, when you obtain them, But they aren't like necessarily just forever pulled away from their lives to be with the Traveler. During certain quests they are with you 100% canon though. The rest is more vague. Paimon is the only one that is with you ALL the time no questions. Important - Make sure you're picking up enemy drops/loot, you've missed some materials after killing enemies where you just kinda walk away from them on the ground ^^; There isn't any open world shops for outfits. Only some characters have second outfits innately, and then a handful have second outfits that you buy with irl money through the shop. However, every now and then Mihoyo will add new outfits though events which you can get for free during events, but after the events its only bought with irl money again. Important - Use element combos a bit more and pause to heal when low. The Pyro Abyss Mage fight you did was pretty good but using elements that react together would have made it go faster - like cryo on the shields to trigger melt or Electro to trigger overload. You can also pause anytime during a fight to heal in Single player! Accessing the bags pauses fights so you won't get hurt and it'll give you time to eat foods for health and buffs. Cooking is pretty important in this game if at least for healing foods. Chests do NOT respawn :) You can absolutely 100% each region. I have done all of them but the latest region, which I'm working on ^^ I wish I could give you a crash course lesson on the UI. I've nearly 100% everything aside from the newest stuff which I'm working on but this puts me in Teacher mode XD

Regarding reading item descriptions: Genshin has a HUGE amount of lore and worldbuilding, and a lot of it is hidden/found in descritpion of items and what not (specifically weapon and artifact descriptions) so if you are a fan of that and want to get more into the hidden lore of the game reading into those can be fun. The one downside though is that, they never tell you the "full" story. Like you can pick up a random weapon and read its description and be very confused at what it's talking about, when the full story is sort of scattered throughout multiple "items", and it's really up to the player to figure out the full story. I think one thing that really got me into the big lore of the game is when I was exploring Dragonspine. There were these stone slates scattered around with really cryptic messages, and all of these abandoned/destroyed ruins and it got me so curious at what happened. Whenever you see some sort of abandoned house, ruin or anything in this game 80% of the time it will have some crazy story behind it that will have you spend hours trying to figure it out. I personally find it really fun!

I like how you enjoy the lore or the descriptions of the artifacts and weapons, like all the details most meta player would deem useless. There’s one artifact set that tells a story about a boy and a bird (no spoiler) and it was there since the launch of the game, and that story was later (almost 1 and half years later!) implemented into a wonderful world quest that got me teared up. This is why I respect the writers and creators of the game as it shows that their attention to detail and that they have a roadmap planned out way ahead. I’ve no more advice for you as I’m sure others in the comment would have plenty. I just wanna say, enjoy and play at your own pace. 🎉

Not sure if someone answered his question whether if other characters are with us cannonically but the theory I know and chose to believe is, they are just shards of fragments we get when wishing through Paimon and gain access to their skills through memories or constellations. This is a bit difficult because this involves the high-level part of the lore. This also why, when interacting with some NPCs/Characters, your current character is being replaced by Aether.

i’m so excited to see another genshin video from you!! i’m enjoying this one too! it feels like there’s a lot to learn at the beginning but it’s much less overwhelming once you get the hang of it. play at your own pace, the way you like. genshin is a single player game (although there is co-op) with no leaderboards or anything so it doesn’t matter how you play as long as you have fun. it’s totally, completely okay to not be perfect at the game btw; many of us were the same when we started, and for me, i still just like to mash buttons in combat and hope it works lol

44:21 btw, those little white thingies around you, you can collect 3 of them (they are close) and they will create a flow of wind in the place where you will take 3rd one and with which you can fly up, so you do not need to climb trees, but this is also an option.

1:16 That rain was a spell cast by a hydro samachurl in the background. It heals other hilichurls, as well as applies hydro status on your character if you stand in the AoE (which can be annoying if enemies shoot cryo arrows at you). This is why you should prioritize samachurls when fighting enemy groups. If you take them out fast you won't have to deal with their abilities. Enemies don't continuously scale with your level. Rather, when your Adventurer Rank gets high enough your World Level advances, and with it all enemies get stronger. However, they also drop better loot. However, certain areas are more dangerous than others even on the same World Level. Unsurprisingly, Mondstadt (especially the part near where you started the game) is relatively tame. The reason those electro slimes said "immune" is that your Anemo skill got infused with electro, therefore dealing both anemo and electro damage. However, slimes are immune to their own element, so that's why the text appeared. Elemental interactions are a core game mechanic and part of the identity of the game. Certain elements cause elemental reactions - for example, pyro and electro cause an overload reaction that creates an explosion.
@Sheevlord11 ай бұрын
Speaking of reactions - some resources need an elemental application before you can harvest them. Dandelions need anemo, mist flowers need to be melted with pyro, pyro flowers need to be doused with hydro or cryo, electro crystals need to be exploded with pyro and so on.

By the way, when you skim through the tutorials, you get 1 primogem per entry, but only if you scroll through every page of an entry. For example, "collecting wood" has a page for every type of tree in the game, and you only get the reward when you scroll through all of the types of tree. It doesn't amount to much, but primogems are primogems.

This is just a list of stuff that helped me while playing the game -always pick up the loot that monsters drop and the plants the grow. In general, anything that glimmers usually means you can pick it up! -for combat, there are a few things. When you tap the attack button, it does a sequence of around 3-4 combo moves. Holding the attack button down does a charged attack that deals more damage. Then there's an elemental attack, which is the button you use for the travelers windburst, ambers baron bunny, ext. For some characters, holding it down will allow for a longer elemental attack. Also, your triangle button is your ult button, and ults in this game tend to charge up fairly easily, so don't worry about wasting them -another thing about attacks is that you can use elemental combos to deal more damage to an enemy. Such as freezing someone as kaeya and then shooting them as amber with a charged arrow. This will trigger the melt affect and deal some good damage -checking the guides will give you some primogems, so make sure you check when you get any new ones because they build up -further on primo gems, theyre the blew gems that you can get from quests, chests, unlocking statues and waypoints, and other trials. You can buy fates with them in the shop (the Paimon Bargains tab) and usually you want to buy intertwined fates since those are used on character event banners that come and go. Acquainted faits (the blue ones), you can get without primos and are used on standard banner (and the noelle one) Other than that, you can figure stuff out easily on your own! There are more complicated things such building a character, but that's something not really needed early game. Seeing you have fun and experiencing this story and game is really entertaining so i hope you're enjoying it as well!!!

Genshin is definitely a trial and error game where you learn by doing A lot of things is hard in the beginning but easy with time. In the future you’ll unlock co-op mode (I believe adventure level 16) and I’m sure we’d gladly help you out with stuff like hard exploration and hard bosses. Still it’s definitely more fun to go against a hard foe and win by yourself!
@Minusiaa11 ай бұрын
I honestly don't think co-op is fun to watch. I know others are helpful and can teach a lot, but many times when I watched others, co-op ruined the most interesting things for me. People use their characters with the highest lvl, they clear the camps themselves in a second, defeat bosses just as fast without even letting the new player know their mechanics, show those little hidden things that would be nice if the player discovered them themselves... I know their intentions aren't bad but still.. ^^" I think I prefer it when someone explains things or gives tips in a comments instead of "come here, do this, collect it". But this is just my experience with watching new players, maybe someone else has a different opinion. Even if Roamer decides to go co-op I'll still watch him play anyway.

@@Minusiaa Yeah i can understand that but if he ever runs into a roadblock or hard overworld boss its always good to know he can get help i sure wished i had people helping me out early game with bosses and exploration in dragonspine
@Minusiaa11 ай бұрын
@@wiljotheartist9932 I think co-op isn't bad in itself, but it would be nice if people used similar levels (or at least just a little higher if enemy is really hard) without maxed out weapons/artifacts so that it could really be called cooperation. ^^" Of course, I'm writing here as a viewer and what's more interesting to watch, if someone likes to play this way it's completely fine! :)

Chests dont respawn but enemies do. For the seelie in the sword place, i guess you have to jump fromt he cliff infront of it, unless you get certain characters who help with jumping. Basically the sooner you understand the elements, the better you will be at the game.

One thing about chests - they don't respawn, but new ones will sometimes appear in places you have already cleared out after you complete a quest or progress a story or whatnot, so it can sometimes feel that they are respawning on you.

Theres a tutorial dungeon for every element combinations in the temple where you met Lisa, try finding out what combinations fun and works for you Fun tip: Kaeya can ice bridge with his skill! If your stamina is too low to swim certain distance, you can ice bridge with Kaeya

1:00:10 when you are in this menu from the statue you can turn on or off auto heal. This menu depicts that you heal only to 50% (default), which is why some of your characters did not heal to full when you got near it. I recommend when you are in this menu to set "Auto-recover when nearby" to 100%. It was the previous menu that you are able to offer the Oculus

Canonically only Traveler and Paimon are traveling together, other characters in a team are more like a "gaming convention", but the moments when Quest tells you otherwise, then those characters or move with you, or speak on the background and they appear with a "Trial" in a team. Also, worth noting, that NPCs do not recognize characters anyone, but Traveler, but NPCs do recognize abilities of that charters when you use them, there are even quests, where some other characters ask you to use Bow or other weapon, or abilities which Traveler should not have and when you switch character and use f.e. Bow or ability on them then they recognize this weapon or ability you used, but like as Traveler used them. Also, use "Marks" on the map to mark interesting places you see, Genshin is very adventure game and it gives you directions with visuals or sounds, but not exactly telling you that something interesting there should be, so it will be useful to mark interesting places you have seen, but was not able to complete them for now or do not want to sidewalk from the quest, so you will be able to remember where it was and that there is something you like to adventure. And btw, game is very rewarding for being curious and if you see something, it definitely means that there is something to explore.

If you're wondering about "Superconduct" and other words that will appear over your enemies' heads - yes, they're all good. Whenever a word appears, it's an elemental reaction that gives you an advantage/increased damage against that enemy. It'll take a while to learn them all and what they do, but they're all a benefit if you can get them to happen on an enemy (they can also happen on you, which is, of course, less good XD).

Yes, that's right; almost everywhere the difficulty of the combat is such that you can play with whatever party you like "Mages Guild", "Catgirls united", "only swords", "No Harm", etc. Yes, that's correct. Not only does this anime-syle graphics age better than a realistic one, it also looks better if your system is not that powerful.

IMPORTANT! One of the core mechanics of the combat is the elemental reactions, like pyro and cyro will do melt, which will do increased damage, same with anemo and any elemental except dendro will do a swirl reaction, other reactions are pyro and hydro with the vaporize, pyro and electro will do overload, electro and hydro will do electro charged, electro and cryo will do super conduct. There really a few others too! They’ll basically just do extra damage! So you could utilize the skills and bursts (basically character’s ultimate attack) I’m glad you’re having a great time! :) Edit: also important! Leveling up weapons is one of the main ways to increase your damage…and also leveling up artifacts but don’t worry too much about that in the very beginning

Maybe it would be best so you read a tutorial on elemental reactions, so you have a better understanding of different abilities. There are 7 elements in this world and combining them produces different effects. It might be confusing to see them interact without knowing what they do. But it would feel so much more fun once you understand what you're doing. But feel free to explore it yourself in the game! Just make sure to watch out for the symbols above the enemies HP bar. It shows what element they are affected with. And you can test out different combinations

I've had several alt accounts and here are some tips I've learned: 1. DO NOT use your Fragile Resin that are given to you by the game(the crescent moons). Resin are essentially the energy system to farm in genshin. They are very precious since you also rely on RNG to farm power up items which you can only obtain good ones starting at Rank 45. If you are not sure who to build yet, I suggest keeping them until you found your favorite character so that you can have all the resources to make them hit big pp dmg 2. Don't get too excited when ascending your adventure rank cuz the monsters will get more and more tough while resources like money, level up books and weapon enhancement ore are usually thinning over time. It's going to be a vicious and unfun cycle of you not being able do anything because everything is too strong but you have to level up your characters (with limited resources) 3. Level up your talents! In the character menu, press talents and there will be skills that your characters are able to do. The first 3 talents can be leveled up (if you are confused on what to level up, press the reccomendation button when you open up the talents menu. Each character has their own unique playstyle) 4. Try to minimize unlocking too many quests, sadly some quests often block others especially smaller ones. Making you unable to do smth you want cuz you unlocked a quest and didn't finish it before moving on to another one 😢

Hi there! Some extra tips for you: 1. As you already noticed at 59:35 , you can heal and revive characters by standing on/near the statues! I do recommend changing it to 100% as that’ll completely heal your characters, at 50% they will only heal halfway. 2. Many characters’s skills can be held (hold r2) like you discovered with lisa in the domain. So i say always try to hold a character’s skill when you get them to see what they do! I believe the only character you have rn that doesn’t do anything special when you hold r2 is kaeya. 3. No, the rest of your party isn’t a canon part of the story. In the storyline, you’re only traveling with paimon! 4. Not really a tip, just a funny thing. There is a playable character by the name of ‘wanderer’ so every time you say your MC name i go ‘wait…what?!’ until i realized you named the mc wander LMAO! I explained the gacha system a little bit in a comment on your first video but i’m not sure you saw so i’ll mention it here: There’s two kinds of wishes to spend, the acquaint ones and the intertwined ones! The acquaint fates are used for the beginner’s wish (the one with Noelle) where you get only 2 chances to pull before it disappears, and the standard banner (with mona, qiqi and keqing). This banner is permanent and doesn’t change except for the occasional update to the line-up of characters. The intertwined fates are used for the event banners (a weapon and character banner). These change every 20/21 days. To get these fates you can go to the shop in the wishing tab, then you go to the tab “Paimon’s bargains” where you can spend primogems and crystals to get fates! You get primogems from a lot of things like exploring, events and other stuff! Crystals you get from wishing :) There’s more to the chances of getting certain characters, like the 50/50. But you can check that out when you click “details” in the wishing menu! I hope this wasn’t too confusing, i tried my best to explain it hehe!
