The tunic is wonderful. What a great leather and fur technic. I have some western minis and I can not wait to try the red leather on them. Great video thanks...

LOL! I actually didn't mean for it to be leather per se, but if you like how it looks for that, by all means use it as red leather. :-))

My compliments, a very professional job. I use to be a pro painter, now retired. Your figure is very well balanced, not to dark, not to striking, right amount of details, basically perfect for the scale😍👍

Always like seeing odd period minis being painted.

Another really nice video. I loved your choice of figure this time. It's nice to see some new countries and new eras covered.

A very interesting model for sure. Not a period that you'll often see on the tabletop. I'm curious though, as to your thoughts regarding the choice of colours. Given that you went for greyish colours for the pants and tunic, wouldn't it have been better to go for a deep brown for the fur? Right now, the fur blends in with the pants and tunic. Had it been brown it would have stood out better, complemented the deep red of the jacket, and provided a clear boundary between the various pieces of clothing.

I don't really think so I guess (obviously)? :-) The fur does have a brown base, just the high highlights are greyish. It may appear more so on film. I also wanted a tone that unified with the pants and sleeves, which is why I wanted to get some grey in the highlights.

Obviously not... :-D Just thought it was interesting to see such a colour scheme. The current zeitgeist seems to be all about high contrast and blacklining to separate each individual part of the model.

In 28mm wargaming models for sure! I started in larger scale stuff and moved down, so that probably why I don't go in for that style. It can look super awesome of done right though! Just not my thing.

Hi Christy - I love your videos and have been watching them for ages! One thing I've noticed is your brushes are always very 'sharp' in that they have a nice well defined tip that keeps its shape. You also always have the perfect amount of paint on the end. My tips tend to bend and it always seems like I have a 'ball' of paint on the tip of the brush. Any tips on keeping that sharp point and just getting the right amount on there?

From a purely technical perspective, it may mean you are pushing too hard when you paint. Or are letting the brush dry in an awkward shape, which it will then hold on to. And it sounds like your paint might be too thick if is forming a ball on the end. But really, all of these things are harder to diagnose without watching you paint. OR it could just be down to using a poor quality brush, since that can cause a lot of the problems you describe as well. But again, hard to tell without knowing the exact situation.

Chrissy thanks for another great tutorial you're a great help for those of us that have returned to painting from the old days of enamel and. are learning acrylics) and all the fabulous new washes and inks etc) (you know the only paints I used to see as a kid were little humbrol tins and there was maybe 50? colours in a rack!) anyway I wanted to encourage you to stay on Ww2 stuff (as it's my era and I can't branch out yet as I spend everything I got on completing my Ww2 armies/scenery/vehicles) but I'm sure everyone has to vary their painting for lasting interest but please remember there's some fabulous varied and unusual Ww2 troop/warrior types from Africa and other places that could fit the bill too- and you can match them against your beautiful Germans hehe also how about China vs Japan early 1939 and on to manchurian Japan vs Russians (cossacs and Mongolian Russians!) some cool uniforms and colours amongst them. anyway thanks again I look forwards your next vid

Don't worry. There will certainly be more WWII stuff. It isn't just the most popular period with you! I just try not to do it every week so people who aren't into it get frustrated. I also will try to keep working in the stranger models / if when I get my hands om them.
