Such a great game... it's funny because I didn't grow up playing Kingdom Hearts. I always heard about it, last year I set out on a mission to play all of the Kingdom Hearts games, and I accomplished it, and I'm so glad I did! No matter what kind of mood I'm in, if I hear Traverse Town theme, All the Troubles melt away LOL. It's been awesome to watch you play through this.

1:28:16 That...Right there was when i knew this kid was special. Sure i believed he was great throughout the game with what he could do and his good intentions... But its REALLY hard to achieve that extra step of being special. In that scene, You see him smile...then pass. Only the few rarely notice the keyhole in the background "completing". Just that little genuine smile to tell everyone playing "Yeah. im okay with this. Worth it for her." You see Sora for who he truly is. Not a hint of darkness or bad intentions in his last moments. Damn it sora. You truly are a good kid. There are few hearts out there that pure. I would truly like to be like Sora. But i naturally lean towards being like Riku instead. (Not a bad thing.) Sora is an inspiration all throughout the series! Time after time after time he just proves how much empathy and love he has to give to ANYONE he crosses paths with. I wish i could be like that. I wish i had a sora in my life. He would make a lot of my negative feelings in life just evaporate. He is just an overwhelmingly positive character with a brave and...well...Positive mental attitude. Your a good kid Sora. The world needs more like you. Especially on our planet earth. We need many more like you.

YAY WEDNESDAYS YIPPEEEEEE Thank you for doing this! Ive said this like a million times, i feel. But I'm so excited for more of these. It almost feels like a luxury to get just concentrated gameplay and personal commentary that isnt affected by a chat, bathroom breaks, stream notifs, etc. Good old days style of lets play :)

15:56 this was a surprisingly dark moment for a game like this with disney characters, 26:15 I love this moment when they decide to disobey the order to follow the keyblade and stick with sora because he's become their friend, riku was such a scumbag in kh1, but I guess it wasn't his fault, he was groomed by the villains he met them before he met the good guys and they twisted his views of who was in the right. 30:32 yeah ahead of its time, they really hit something with this. 37:23 Yeah I just jumped up on those platforms. I didn't know about freezing the water bubbles into ice platforms you can jump, this is what I mean why this game is so beloved, the design is so intricate, it's like pirates of the Caribbean how that first movie started a whole franchise

Kh1 has darkness as the enemy. Kh2 onwards has the organization, xehanort, whatever, guys with a face. In kh1 ansem appears just at the end, as part of the darkness. I think having a misterious faceless enemy in a story whose final acts are in an empty giant castle in and in a graveyard of broken worlds gives that feeling that sarah tries to explain. The world that was is cool and misterious, but is the headquarters of the organization. An enemy with a face.

As you started this let's play, I followed along while doing a KH 1 Plat playthrough. So much fun, feels like old times the beginning bubbles in Hollow Bastion are meant to be frozen and jumped I think? I also only found this out in this playthrough to get a certain Item later on! Crazy that even after 20 years there are mechanics this game could surprise me with 😁

finally sat down to watch this and play kh2 myself after being busy with work for over 2 weeks. I was able to beat the data versions of Roxas Marluxia and Vexen while watching. And i always have fun with winnie the pooh, though i'm trying to beat every world in my current playthroughs and all super bosses so that may just be me.

I get it with the vibes. KHI Hollow Bastion is a desolate, depressing place. A castle where dreams died. KHII Hollow Bastion is a place slowly coming back to life, where the hopes of everyone who returned to it are slowly taking root until it can truly become Radiant Garden again. Edit: And then there's how since it was a partial hub world it subtly changes how your brain perceived it. Oh, this isn't really a "dungeon" anymore.

Hi Sarah! Finally starting watching this, the bubbles can be frozen with blizzard for platforming! It feels pretty unnecessary, the only time I needed it was for a chest in the waterway.
