Here's the tryhard way to do this: 1.) Use 64-bit os. It runs cooler and overclocks better. 2.) Lower render distance to as low as possible, and simulation distance if you are on 1.19 3.) Go to Lunar Client settings and then to performance. There are very important performance settings like hide foliage(hides all grass) and lazy chunk loading settings that can drastically improve fps. In addition, you can hide end portals, enchant animations, stuck arrows so your game doesn't have to render as many entities. 4.) Turn fog off. The blurring makes the GPU have to work harder and the GPU is what is limiting the rpi4 5.) Overclock. Depending on how much your pi can handle and how much pain you want to put it though. 6.) FANS. Rpi can easily get to 80 degrees C playing mc 7.) Follow optimization videos for exact settings, here are a few: Biome Blend: Lowest(none) Sky, Moon, Sun, Fog, Weather, or any other options in the Details section: off Entity Distance: Low as possible Animations: Lowest possible(Minimal) 8.) Vsync is good for getting STEADY fps, but it can limit your max fps so depending on your goal you may want this on or off. In addition, to put your pi through less suffering you can limit the fps to 60 so it doesn't overwork and heat your computer up more. 9.) Hit F1 in game. It hides your GUI(2d objects like hotbar and hand), but it drastically improves fps because it only has to render 3d objects and can turn off the 2d engine) 10.) Lunar Client taking forever to start? - It takes a lot of time the first few times you try to start it, along with when new updates are pushed, but after a while the time will improve - MultiMc has way better startup time, but personally lunar client runs smoother. Even if you give MultiMc 85 optimization mods like I did, lunar client doesn't mess with the renderer as much as all the optimization mods and although the 85 mods have more fps, lunar client feels smoother because the mods use frame interpolation and can overwork other areas of your pi. Personally, I prefer lunar client. 11.) Resource packs don't actually improve fps. Higher resolution hurts fps, but lower resolution only works on certain computers and this doesn't include the rpi.

Quick tip: There is a difference between "Gigabyte" and "Gigabit" Gigabyte = 1000MB/s Gigabit = ~100MB/s The raspberry pi has "gigabit" Lan rather than Gigabytes.

If you put on heat sinks and a raspberry pi fan with a better ventilated case, your temperature issues would be solved. With that, you can overclock the pi to make it much faster. I would love to see how it would perform with that and the other optimizations people here mentioned. Really cool video!

This could have been WAY better. Next time, use prism launcher, and the simply optimized modpack from modrinth. Then set your Fullscreen resolution to 720x480@60, and make sure your monitor settings are set to not stretch the image. Then change all the usual video settings like render distance etc. That's how you can get a real playable experience ESPECIALLY when playing on servers.

As I run Minecraft (servers) on raspberries, from experience one of the biggest bottlenecks on the Oi, isn’t really the CPUs but plain and simple IO. Connecting and (old) SATA SSA via USB made it very playable. Of course the GPU on the Pi isn’t the strongest but Minecraft isn’t a very GPU intensive game.

I tried out 1.16.5 and 1.8.9 recently on my raspberry pi 400. Its basically the same pi Notro had but inside of a keyboard. I got a stable 30+ fps in 1.8.9 with optifine and a solid 25+ fps on 1.16.5. Idk why but mine just performs better
