Well it looks like this is the first video of mine to get KZbin's new AI dubbing in other languages. You can change the audio track by clicking on the gear icon in the player. I imagine they're not very good, but I'll leave them on for this video because I'm curious to hear just HOW bad they are 😅

@ not at all. The PS1 had gone to dual analog at that point. And the original ps1 controller is pretty much just a copy of the snes controller. So at that point they had a good idea of how you should make a controller

Kinda yes, but remember that minecraft java is written in java - its performance is trash to this day and you need to mod the game. This port is in c++ iirc

The reason behind this is that the Licensed by Sega screen is required to boot the game, but the other bit was a section devs could put the Windows CE logo if their game ran on Windows CE. The community has absolutely since taken advantage of that space for non Windows CE logos lol.

It's almost impressive to see such a smooth framerate on the Dreamcast. Let alone with something mimicking a game well known for being performance bottlenecked by Java. *And* this has multiplayer, I'm really gonna have to pay more attention to this project.

@eazy_black - Check out Modern Vintage Gamers video on the topic of copy protection for the Dreamcast. It does have copy protection, but there was an oversight with karaoke CDs that blew the entire console open for unsigned code iirc.

Yeah you could easily copy almost any game. All you needed was a boot CD. The only games you couldn't copy were the ones that utilized the full size of the Dreamcast CDs which was like a gig.

@@ax14pz107 Aye. Release groups would downsample the quality of video files, audio files and textures to get images down to the 700MB CD-R limit. The Utopia boot disc was required in the beginning. But later on (like I imagine now with this homebrew) you didn’t even need that anymore. I’m glad we have ODE’s these days though. Those lasers wear out. And burning discs for small homebrew stuff seems like such a waste😅

I would have done the camera controls "PSP Homebrew FPS" style personally, with either the stick or the face buttons being camera movement, with the D-pad handling jump/inventory/etc. That control method seems like pain lmao

GoldenEye on the N64 had that control style with the c buttons being move. Once I got used to it, I became undefeatable until everyone else I played with learned how to use it. It particularly fun watching my six year old brother laughing hysterically while slapping my brother's college roommates to death with that control scheme while they could barely aim well enough to even hit him once before dying.

@@ax14pz107 Oh yeah, on Dreamcast you can do something similar but instead of using two controllers you use a controller and the mouse. I don't know how well that worked, I feel like the Dreamcast controller is a bit to heavy to hold with one hand. But it's nice to have the option.

A new version of classicube has just launched that runs better and features sound on Dreamcast. The online does work but works better with a broadband adapter because the modem has such a slow speed. It does work tho I have used it, if I remember correctly there are certain servers on there that are made with Dreamcast in line that work better

You are correct, there are servers made for the Dreamcast. Sega_Dreamcast is the one I work on. I have uploaded gameplay of me playing on the server. Also theres a version with sound now for the Dreamcast?

I play the Dreamcast online frequently, and have played classicube a fair bit. One thing to note with fps games on Dreamcast controller. Most if not all Dreamcast fps games have a default control scheme of using the face buttons to move and the analog stick to aim which is miles better than the default control scheme for classicube (not sure why they chose it as the default) but anyway you can change the controls to match this control scheme and fps games are far more smooth to play with that control scheme imo

Classic Cube is very poorly optimized for the modem, as the data sent over dial up isn't great lol. It's being slowly updated to work better, but it is hard with how little data is sent over it. That's why it's recommended to use the broadband adapter for this. There's actually a Dreamcast specific server done by the community over at the Sega Online Discord server that is pretty cool. They're constantly making sure it's compatible with the Dreamcast since other servers aren't really as compatible with the thing. The Dreamcast community is great! Thanks for this video, the Dreamcast deserves all the love it gets. Love these videos!

Nice to see this console still being developed on. So much hardware that most probably would never see or even touch themselves in the modern day unless they are lucky or already had some (unless you count emulators, then anyone with a decent computer and programming knowledge can get started). yeah nothing is so fun as spreading misinformation online. it's not "an actual port" because "Minecraft engine" was never open source so, by definition, there's no source code to port. it's just a recreation, like the Wii version covered previously on this channel

I was around the Classicube Community for years, back in 2015 all the way to 2020 until i kinda stopped, it was such an interessing project, it's literaly an exact copy in everyway of the 0.30 version of Minecraft, thing is, the Servers allow you to add your own custom blocks somewhat easily which gave you so much variety, there was survival at some point too but they removed it because "it didnt fit their vision" (i still think it would make sense because 0.30 DID had survival but whatever). Sadly it kinda lost its popularity and i dont really know who is in charge nowadays, back then it was a guy named Andrew but at least its still here which warms my heart. :)

AndrewPH is still the owner of classicube. 0.30 did have survival in the game code, but the actual version of the game that everyone played back in the day and knows of as Minecraft Classic didn't have it enabled. So it makes sense that ClassiCube, being a fan-continuation of Minecraft classic, also doesn't have survival. Even if we wanted to implement survival, it would be a very bad idea as it could risk the entire project being shut down by Microsoft due to being competitive with modern Minecraft

I think he was talking about scrolling through the hotbar, not the inventory. Also, the game supports custom blocks, which can make the inventory large enough to scroll through

You can use the all mighty claw like on the PSP.. at least in the dreamcast controller you are operating the analog stick with the claw... much more comfortable..

Hello Modem/DreamPi users. I have found out a way to fix the super jump glitch. For some reason only when played on a modem the jump height is set to 257.003 when it should be 1.233. To fix this when you loaded into the server, hit start and go into the options menu. You'll see a menu bar called hack settings. Click on that and you'll see you are able to change the jump height. Click on that and then you'll be able to type in 1.233 or click default and it will set itself to the correct jump height. Also In the options menu in the graphics setting you need to change the FPS to 30max and the view distance 128. Also let everything load in first, you have to go slow with it or the game might freeze. The game might load up slowly when you join the server and even load from a weird spot. Let it all load in and when entering a teleport. It should take about 10-20 seconds or longer to completely load in. So it seems like the settings don't like to save when you're using a modem. Everytime I enter a portal all my settings I change would revert back to the settings it originally had. Also go on the server called, Sega_Dreamcast. That one should work better
