Tips on the power ups: Freeze: forward projectile, freezes steering, helps to keep the wheel straight when getting hit by it Storm: forward projectile, blocks view, causes traction loss, and jerks the car around Tornado: forward projectile, everything in it's path gets flung around, is the only powerup that you can attack your teammates with Rocket: speed boost Hammer: puts a battering ram on the front of your car, knocks opponents out of the way at the touch Shockwave: Near by cars are flung out of the way, also creates a split second speed boost for the user, comes in handy if you're trying to quickly accelerate after being spun Gas can: dropped hazard, causes the car to slow down for a period of time Oil slick: dropped hazard, causes traction loss for a period of time Super tires: greatly increases grip, use this to quickly zip around corners Shield: protects from opponents powerups Joker: random powerup, can be good or bad depending on your position You can dodge opponents powerups by taking shortcuts or slowing your car down to a near stop, sometimes you can steer out of a tornado and land forward. Powerups that are fired off in shortcuts will still get you though. And you unlock the special cars by finding golden wrenches hidden in the tracks. And the golf cart is terrible, it gets knocked around like a ping pong ball :P

If you play as the golf cart with all your opponents set to golf carts too and you play in Circus Minimus with Mayhem powerups, now we're talkin. Thanks for the tips for the powerups

This is not only my favorite NASCAR game of all time, but my favorite racing game. Please do the career mode in this game. It's so fun.

I played this game every evening after school on my ps2 till it quit working lol it was my all time favorite game. I’m glad to see it making a return on videos. Brings back a lot of memory’s for sure.

def gotta watch this, this was my 1st nascar game and it made it ez as a kid to learn the drivers names and watch the cup series later on in life. loved the elite versions of the cars (only played as Jeff, Bobby L, & Tony) fk that tornado power up tho lol

To this day I still love picking rookie cars/teammates vs the elite class with “some” power-ups selected. Where you drop your gas can/oil slick can win you the race if you’re clever enough

It's weird that I always come back to this game whenever I think about PS1 games. I don't really care if it's good or bad, but the thing is that this game is so addictive and replayable for me and it feels different every time I play it. It feels nice to see some recent gameplays with this game, or even completely blind gameplay when you have no idea with the controls and the powerups. Wish there are more of this, though, because I think there aren't much new gameplays with this

Basically the trucks are slower top speed wise but are less likely to be thrown about than the cup cars

The road on the last night track before the finish line on the left if you go down it you will get the RV i think or the rocket car. My family played the shit out of this game we loved it. i think you should really play the full game. BIG AIR!!!! BIIIIIGGGGG AIIRRRRR!!!!!!!!
