5:48 I can tell you already, the thing where the mouse would be painfully short distances while moving slow movements, and really large distances while moving fast is because you have “enhance pointer precision” enabled in the control panel. It will move in a far more one-to-one manner if you disable it

I gave this suggestion a try -- while unchecking it does make movement feel better on the desktop itself, functioning way more like I expected it to, it's definitely still overall on the slow side, and I found games like PowerWash Simulator would have their own mouse sensitivity settings that seemed to override that of the regular cursor (or at least felt that way!) So for example, if I went to the PowerWash Sim options and turned the mouse sensitivity there to the max level, the SNES mouse actually worked pretty dang well and almost felt like my regular mouse, but obviously the downside would be that my regular mouse would now do overkill turns at the slightest movement! lol
