Yeah it really is. I played f2p as a kid and effectively accomplished nothing in years but had fun. Now I started fresh end last year as a member for the first time and have conquered raids 1 and 2 now and it's such a diff kinda fun playing efficiently but I love it nonetheless

One tip I have, is try and find a new way to play a game you love. Like, I started a BOTW game recently where I have been super heavily roleplaying Link and making decisions from his perspective, rather than mine, in addition to having to eat and sleep at least once every two days in game. It has been a blast so far. Maybe try a speedrun, you don't have to get a world record or even record it, but how fast can you beat your favorite game? Do you think you could do it in one sitting? And of course there is always the classic, stop playing them for a while. Always works for me. Wish you luck man, hope you can re-find that enjoyment you once felt

Even playing casually in classic WoW, hitting max level will only take a few days on your ingame /played, and getting attuned + getting geared would just be a weekly grind, maybe a couple hours every day. Getting this good at OSRS takes some sheer dedication and time commitment that I have a lot of respect for.

I love the amount of content there is in the game, but even with how open ended and grindy a lot of the gameplay is, it doesn't scratch the itch I thought it would. I felt like I had very little direction, though I'm sure if I picked up OSRS when I was the same age I picked up WoW, I'd have similar feelings towards WoW.

I've been playing RS for 15 years on and off. A few years ago I got back into it, but the sweaty account builds that have been dominating content are kind of.... sweaty? This series has been my all-time favorite, across some truly incredible content creators, as it has brought back the feeling of enjoying the content of OSRS as it was made to be enjoyed initially. No shame in anyone building an incredible account, or doing some ironman mode. But KempQ has breathed incredible life into the enjoyment of the core game that I feel like I can touch and reach for. It doesnt even take that long to create a one def pure. A main is a little bit different since you kinda want barrows gloves. But all melee 99s are pretty easily achievable by just afk at nightmare zone. You only have to interact with the game once every 20min. So ya it's not that bad imo. And remote desktop applications and OSRS mobile make this only easier since you dont even have to be near your PC. It's kind of grind. But it's not supose to be casual.

It's absolutely amazing to me to see how much that seasoned players can get done in such a short amount of time, even when they've barely trained their skills. I used to play in '06-'08 however I was also a literal child, I barely did any quests and mostly just trained skills like fishing/cooking/woodcutting (maxed that out fast lmao) and stopped playing when I was ~level 45. Now I have a fresh OSRS account and I've done a good chunk of the f2p quests (holding off inevitably buying membership), did some skill grinding, and my combat level is 34 after about 3-4 days. I held off some of the quests involving combat for last and haven't done them yet but apparently some of y'all just go right in and do them when you've barely got 12 HP. Amazing.
