I wouldn't say that for the OG Xbox version of the game, I never played it, but I heard it was on-par or at times, even better than the original PS2 version depending on who you ask in terms of having a bit more features such as the custom soundtrack option and improved draw distances compared to the original. Though the OG Xbox version is missing the orange tint and lighting that encompasses the original atmosphere of the game that the PS2 has.

The 2nd PS2 release is better. It fixed a lot of bugs. Here's what the PS2 revision changed: - Removed the Hot Coffee assets and code. - Closed the garage door of a glitchy Pay 'N Spray in LV near the pyramid so that it's not usable. - Added Clucking Bell marker in Downtown LS that was missing on the map. - Changed "Life's a Beach" 's required score from 4000 to 2500. - Changed "Supply Lines" mission so the RC Baron doesn't drain fuel when idling. - Fixed a glitch where aiming at the bartenders would put their hands up even if the player did nothing and the pool table guy wouldn't show up ever again. - Fixed a glitch that would make random gang territories appear around the map. - Fixed a glitch that would crash the game by going to the Pay n Spray with Vortex and exiting the vehicle. - The name of the CSR radio station changed from CSR 103.2 to CSR 103.9 though it still says 103.2 in the radio menu icon. It was Vice City that became worse with each PS2 revision because of censorship related to the Haitians, Cubans and deleting music. There was 4 releases 1.40, 2.01, 3.00 and 4.00. For 2.01, they got rid of the original weapon models and names and a Lionel Richie song. 3.00 got rid of the tear gas and censored the cutscene dialogue and 4.00 removed more songs.

Dunno how you peoples play your games, I don't recall any crashes with PS2 (both revisions) or PC (v1.0 played with Win XP with literal DVD inside the drive, non-modded all the way). Something tells me some issues arise from playing with things them games weren't exactly made for. The sounds are compressed to hell already in comparison to the PS2 version though. They take much less space in this PC version kek. That's the only thing I can say sucks with the (original) PC port.

PS2 version: best way to play. It also released on PS3/PS4 under the "PS2 Classics" emulation - it looks awesome upscalled to 900p on PS4 and works on PS5, sadly delisted because of DE. Original Xbox version: if you have this port, it's also backwards compatible on the Xbox 360 and runs at 720p-ish, maybe lower. PC version: It can be as good or better than the PS2 version if you know which mods to get, otherwise it's ugly and in some ways unplayable. 2013 "remaster": the disaster seen in this video. First released for mobile but also ported for PS3, Windows 10 and 360. The PS3 version has a few more patches but the Xbox version is (was) backwards compatible on Xbox One/Xbox Series. DE: Everything that could be wrong is wrong on every level. But at least it's "playable".

@@oz_jones I think it's more like a leftover issue of this being based on the mobile version. The game controls are all centered around touch input, and they didn't do a stellar job making it fit the controller scheme, i'm playing the mobile version with the controller and on those first-person shooting sections (like in Reuniting Families) the sensitivity is awful probably because they expect you to move the crosshair around using touch controls.

In "learning to fly" there's a beyond Curse glitch...when the game starts the Exemples of tasks to do in that mission if you don't immediatly start the tasks the game will instantly frooze..forcing you to reboot the entire console...the fact people managed to beat this version mean they deserve to have a harem with all the characters they love... Because indeed if you don't skip all the tests exemples on time it will crash... and this count towards ALL TESTS.. worst of all? This glitch was ACTUALLY mentioned alot and rockstar never fixed in the very few updates they did for this version.

It actually appears to be some sort of save corruption that causes it because it happened to my brother so I speedran a new save to that point in the story and the crash just didnt happen that time around. Although I turned autosave off right off the bat before even getting on the bicycle. so maybe it has to do with those?

Fun fact I started on 360, gave up cause it was too hard (skill issue). Ended up beating for the first time on an iPad mini. Ended up beating it again to 100% on 360 then DE. I actually enjoyed all my playthrough s despite the issues but still need to play the original or DE with mods for a proper experience. I originally got it on 360 cause all my friends were talking about playing gta together and clueless me found SA that was super cheap on sale. Pretty sure this is so glitchy and awful is beacause it's a straight up only slightly edited version of the mobile Android/IOS version of San Andreas which.. Yeah, changing a game and porting it to mobile and then porting it back to consoles is rather silly and obviously leads to countless errors. Even though it seems impossible to play the original not broken release on your xbox series it is POSSIBLE. 1. Buy dev mode app for your xbox 2. Open it, reload into dev mode 3. Install retroarch and ps2 core 4. Dump the original san andreas ps2 disc 5. Find ps2 bios 6. Drop everything to a spare usb stick 7. Launch ps2 san andreas on your xbox, don't forget to set the resolution to 10800 or 1440p. You'll get much better experience than with DE or this piece of dogshit.

I remember waiting all day to get this game when it was released June 7, 2005 on Xbox 360. Arguably my favorite game console after SNES. This version of the game was great regardless of the wonky aspects of the game. Of course, I played it 19 years ago and it was different back then and games were different. I didn't have a PS2 when I was 19 but I loved the Xbox 360 even if I got red rings of death or a faulty system. The latter was under warranty and Microsoft hooked me up with the fixed system and a refurbished one along with it for free. I played the hell out of them for the next 5 years before hard times forced their sales to others. This is the only version of GTA: SA I've played more than an hour of. I played it for 6 years. I haven't played this game since 2013. Great game but when GTA 5 came out, it definitely fucked the whole Los Santos presentation up in the fan's eyes who saw it in 2004/05 and now it's this albatross of cacophony in regards to how different San Andreas is between the 2 games and the 21 years difference. It's as if Ultor Corporation came in and terraformed the entire state and cut away and moved San Fierro and Las Venturas to another island a thousand miles away.

actually the 2005 version was just the OG Xbox version, that was also playable on the 360 via backwards compability. this version here is the HD remaster that came out much later in 2013/14 i believe and is the broken one.

I was wondering the same thing, I remember going for the 100% but I stopped because I was tired of dealing with the sh.ty controls (even with a proper controler), and I was pretty much just missing some delivery missions and the races Aside from that I don't remember having many crashes during the main game (if I had any at all)

The first time I played San Andreas was mobile. I couldn't get my parents to let me play, but I did have an iTunes gift card. I later got the PC version. edit: I think the farthest I made was San Fierro.

Nah fam, ps2 and og xbox gtas were peak. I have the trilogy for the xbox and the old paper with all the cheat codes tucked in with the map lol

Im so glad i only played the og console versions/ps4 and unfortunately i played the de and i think the ps4 version is the most preferable. Audio is a little bad but its not horrible.
