Happy New Year!
Today I'm just doing some art therapy while I wait for tomorrow's surgery. I enjoy playing with Distress Spray Stains. They are one of my favorite mediums. I buy most of them here: www.etsy.com/l...
My friend, Sharyl ‎@thewholebucket897 is planning a #justthebits series in January or #JustTheBitsJanuary. It's like a prep time for the year and I think this counts. These pages will be journal pages or ephemera bases or #collagefodder in the future. But for today, it was just fun playing and spraying.

You sound like me the day before surgery… being creative is the best medicine. Make sure to keep a journal of you experience. Jot or dictate your thoughts on your phone if you can’t write. It’s something I learned in a pain management class an it really helps. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!

I love your arsenol of distress sprays. I wanted some for Christmas, but I think that Santa lost them somewhere in between the North Pole and my house. 😂 I love all those combinations of colors and patterns. I hated having to prep for the colonoscopy. My doctor gave me the option of taking twenty pills with seamingly gallons of water versus having to drink that liquid crap. I hope your surgery goes well. It's funny how youtube messes with people's subscribers. I wish you the best! Happy New Year!!❤ 🎉

Lovely papers Darcy. I hope all goes well for your surgery. 🤗🤗🤗🥰♥♥ I cried when you put the empty speckled egg in the bin. If you put reinker , 6 drops, in the spray bottle then add about one 3rd water, shake, you will have a new spray ink. You may have to adjust ink drops to water but it does work. Thanks ♥️ I was told the reinkers are a different composition than the spray stains. I have a new bottle of the spray stain so no worries. I will keep the working nozzles to replace the ones that don't work though - if I remember when I'm back in the studio.

Praying for you today Darcy! Preemptive strikes so much better than the alternative! 😘🙏 Since you asked, I think that when I’m not involved in a collaboration and it is a smaller group of artists, I find that I feel less connected and/or interested in those videos. As an example, Ceri’s GeliPostcard play had such a big reach and rally around that I wanted to see what everyone else was doing.

Oh I hope you are feeling better! Sorry but have to share my colonoscopy story. When them put me under (are those great drugs or what!) they didn't quite give me enough and I woke up at some point. They were all gossiping about the nurses and docs in the ER, I started giggling. One said uh doc I think this one is awake! Anestheisiologist (sp?) said she won't be for long! I giggled one more time and said good night. So funny. Hope that gave you a laugh.

That's crazy that you even remembered. My surgery was probably over by noon, but I wasn't conscious enough to know/remember what was going on until 4:30. The room for me was getting cleaned up. They were full up.

I don’t have many sprays but wonder if this would work using watercolors and layering with the stencils. I’m definitely going to give it a try…it’s just paper…right? 😂 Praying all goes well with your surgery and you have a speedy recovery.

Definitely play with watercolors. I suggest you look up a video on bokeh painting. It's a cool technique that works great with watercolor paints.

Hi Darcy -Hope it goes for you. When is it? the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th? I have the checkup on Jan 24. Remember when you wake up to show DRUGGGGGGS!!!! Really hoping you feel well and can take it easy the coming days. I keep hearing your air fryer and telling my husband his toast is ready. We both think I'm nuts. Take it easy and be cool and calm and keep us informed. Hugs.
