Fripp and Captain Sensible, very interesting, two great artists in contemporary music and so temperamently different, but I'm not suprissed that they've met for playing. Thank you for this interesting post.

I'm a huge Robert Fripp AND Captain Sensible fan. (WOT?!) I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for those sessions! (And yes, Sensible is a talented guitarist.)

I remember when that song came out. I heard the opening riff and immediately knew it was him even though it made no sense at first.

Seen Fripp perform many times...... Incredible.

Did that story finish or was it cut off? Just felt like there was a little more.

Do listen to Curtain Call if one gets the time. Fripp also played with The Stranglers, when Hugh Cornwell was arrested.

Fantastic! I simply cannot picture Robert Fripp MOONING at someone! 🤣🤣🤣 The man is a treasure

Greg Lake cracks up in "Cat Food" because Fripp was mooning him from the control room of the studio

@@MEGAMIGA for real. "The anarchic mood of the song occasioned by Keith Tippett’s freewheeling piano and Greg’s mid-song laughter (caused by Fripp dropping his trousers whilst Lake was singing) made this one of the most unlikely single releases of the year." (NOTE: I keep trying to post this with the link to the source of the quote, David Singleton on the DGM website, but it keeps being deleted?!?)

Oy, painfully truncated! Captain Sensible begins to get down to work at midnight and the video ends! Hopefully Mr Fripp will write his memoirs in as many volumes as J.G. Bennett's The Dramatic Universe.

Yes, true. The Damned were Pink Floyd fans and Johnny Lydon of the Sex Pistols loved Van der Graaf Generator. Most people don't realise this

The song "Nadir's Big Chance" was Hammill's harbinger of punk.

Most people don't know that John Lydon loved Captain Beefheart too. Where do you think he got the line 'Japan is a dishpan' on the Pistols song 'New York'. A lot of people know that The Damned wanted Syd Barrett to produce their second album but it's been said The Pistols also wanted Syd to produce NMTB. Probably Lydon or McLaren?
