I usually get a few arclight early so I might start using the tarantula instead. I will probably switch the loadout on the arclight, might add armor on them, will have to see how I can specialize both.

i am sorry, you can't use every unit every time. Played like 6 or 7 games and this happened on all of them. Can't really just force a unit against stuff that its bad against and then you just lose in 2 rounds. Played some more today though and have same more tarantula matches !

Tarantula = Better than an Arclight worse than Fire Badger; but, you can build them any time you want. Anything that gives guaranteed crawler clear is good imo.

Looking forward to trying the new units out! A little worried that Bearlike has said multiple times now that units will generally be deployed at a below average power level to avoid causing problems - which means experimenting with the new units can be quite punishing day1 but we'll see :D

With how tanky the tarantula seems field maintenance on them looks really, really good. They should be able to chew through crawlers, fangs, sledges, mustangs etc. Might even have some potential against giants when leveled with their spider mines.

I find archlinght better at clearing mobs. I found it a bit annoying to deal with untill I went to marksman turned into shotguns with double shot

a lot more health in the tarantula, and one arclight clears as fast as one tarantula. So tarantula is just an arclight with different techs and a lot more hp

Weird how they removed the phoenix as one of the starting units, feels like you'd get more round 1 variety by having more units that can be randomly picked, but maybe there's some reasoning behind it that I've not thought of?
